Reviews of The London Equestrian Centre

Surprising to find a pleasant riding school accessible (relatively) via tube from Central London. I'm a novice so can't comment with expertise but horses were very calm, instructor was professional and the premises looks reasonably well looked after. It seems more like a relaxed riding school rather than stuck up. It suited me anyway. Will return after my legs are no longer sore 🤣

First time on a horse for my little girl. She loved it. The instructor, Kristal, was so great - encouraging, calm and very nice. Lovely pony too! Def recommend.

Hello,
Have been trying to get in touch with LEC for some days, with no success. Is there any recommendation from existing Clients to get in touch with the Manager or the person in charge of bookings at the center, other than sending an email? What is the most effiicient way please?
I would like to book my little girls bday party with ponies in 3 weeks! Thank you in advance.

I took my niece for her first horse riding lesson here and I can't emphasise enough what a wonderful experience it was! From the offset the staff were friendly and efficient, fitting a helmet and telling us where to go to wait for the instructor (even when it was very busy).
My niece's teacher was Robyn, she had a warm and patient approach, effortlessly making the lesson a fun and exciting experience. Robyn took the time to help my niece get over her initial worries about riding a pony and actually put her mind at ease in a way that I couldn't.
Her pony Ellie was very calm and well behaved. I can't recommend this riding centre enough, both the ponies and the teachers were fantastic and we will definitely be returning for another lesson.

I took my wife and son for their first riding lesson as complete beginners. Jane at the office was very polite, friendly and helpful on the phone when booking and when we were there today. Charlie, the instructor, was very good with both my wife and son. She made them feel at ease with the lovely horses Alfie and Bonnie. The two young girls helping to handle the horses were ever so patient and calm. Booking was very easy just 2 days in advance and price was well worth the experience.

One of the best riding school in London. Instructors are really professional and their teaching metodology helps kids to improve their riding skills quickly. For parents there is also cafeteria to eat or drink something while waiting fro kids.

I have been going here for about nearly 8 years impeccable standers and they take great care of their horses and ponys. Great for kids to start riding would highly recommend to anyone. Also whilst children are riding parents have the pleasure to sit in a nice little cafe on the way to the indoor arena and can watch their children there. Nice people all the time take it at your own pase and are very helpful.
I don't really know what else you could ask for?
It's amazing if your starting riding this would be a amazing place to start you won't regret the decision of coming to the LEC
Nice staff and well behaved horses is there really anything good else you could ask for 🐴

Been coming here for years. Lovely family run stables, great place to learn to ride. Great views towards Totteridge.

I wasn't looking forward to a 6 year old's birthday party in the middle of a cold and wet Saturday afternoon in January, however this turned out to be a great venue. The kids ranging from 3-7 had a great time riding ponies whilst the parents could sit and watch them in the warmth of the coffee shop. The kids stay under a covered paddock when riding ponies, so no worries about rain and the venue can serve a meal for the kids in the coffee shop straight after. I would definitely recommend for parties for kids of this age range.

I love the London equestrian centre, it's my new riding school! It's so friendly and I always feel welcome there. My teacher, Amy, is the best teacher and so nice and we have so much fun! Defiantly should go there.

I held my daughter's birthday party at the London Equestrian Centre last weekend. We had 20 children at the party and I did have concerns about the logistical nightmare of getting 20 children on a horse. I am happy to say that the staff at the centre were incredible! I was so impressed with the level of calm and organisational skills that the team displayed; every child was helmeted and booted seamlessly without a single parent needing to get involved. The team were remarkably cool even when we had a last minute increase in numbers from 18 to 20.
My daughter had only been to the centre once before but she was treated like family and made to feel very special on her birthday. My daughter wears hearing aids and, unlike any other centre I have been to, they took complete control to ensure that my daughter was able to hear all instructions.
I would also say that the couple who run the café equally made our day very special. The café is very clean and provides a pleasant and light environment. The party room was set up prior to our arrival so I had very little to do myself which was luxury. The food servings were generous and tasty and we felt very comfortable and at ease during the party. The café demonstrated complete flexibility from start to finish and nothing was too much of a problem.
An excellent centre all round. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Food is a good, not fine dining, but much better than I expected. The real draw I are the animals of course, which keeps the kids happy and entertained. Service is excellent.

I have been riding regularly at LEC for nearly a year and have had Amy as a teacher pretty much from the beginning. I find her to be incredibly patient (as I'm not a hugely confident rider), a great teacher and always happy to go at my pace. She never makes me feel uncomfortable and she is great fun as well! I only have good things to say about Amy & highly recommend her as a teacher at LEC

We took our 5 year old daughter for her first horse riding experience today. It was absolutely brilliant! Well organised, friendly and fun. We will definitely return. Thanks to the whole team!

The London Equestrian Centre was the 2nd riding school I ever went to. I joined them by joining a group of friends that had already been riding there for a year. My teacher's name was Amber and she was an excellent teacher and I learnt so much from her. After a year I had been riding with her and my friends, my friends decided to move stables due to the fact that they lived 45 mins away. About a week after they left, Amber left too. Before she left, she recommended a young riders club to me that would be on every Friday night from 6:30 - 8:30.
I joined the club really excited and I was riding at the club for about a year. I made loads of friends when I joined but some of the older kids were really mean and they always made you feel left out when you were riding. When you were alone with them and not riding, they would be really nice to you and really helpful but when we were riding together they would make you feel left out and feel as if you were useless at riding. That didn't make me feel very welcomed but I dealt with it and just enjoyed being there.
Once when we were doing dressage in the club, I couldn't hear anything or anyone speaking because it was raining and windy. We were riding outside and I was at the back of the whole ride. An instructor called Ally was telling us the instructions about what to do in the dressage test but I couldn't hear a word she was saying. When I kept on doing things wrong, she kept on telling me off and shouting at me. I felt really sad and left out but she just kept on shouting at me. She was only talking to the front of the ride and when she came to talk to the back of the ride, it was as if she just left me out of the whole talk. After that one riding club lesson, I left London Equestrian Centre and I haven't gone back since.
If you want to start riding lesson, LEC is a great place to start but make sure you listen carefully otherwise some of the teachers will shout at you and you'll be scarred for life.

My daughter had an amazing first leson at this very friendly centre. Her coach was Robyn who seemed to have a natural flare with children. She effortlessly brought the best out of our daughter.
