Best Dojo in London by far. I've tried most kickboxing classes in town and even though I have to travel from quite far I really don't mind.
Everyone is very friendly and the level of training is so good for a very competitive price.
The progression system really get's you in a position to improve and teachers are super professional and helpful to reach whatever your goal is.
So happy I've found this place!

Speaking as someone who joined The Martial Arts Place as a complete novice, I cannot recommend this dojo enough! It's a highly professional, friendly and really enjoyable way of learning kickboxing, and has made a huge difference to my fitness and confidence levels. No two lessons are the same, they are always fun and you are constantly learning new techniques from the excellent instructors. The structured nature to the lessons and learning in general means you are constantly progressing, and I have never been fitter - despite approaching 40...!

This is THE dojo to attend if you want to train in a safe, controlled and friendly atmosphere. It's a welcoming gym and accommodates all ; men , women, old, young, absolute beginners to seasoned veterans. It's great fun. But the underlying ethos is a serious and disciplined commitment to training hard, drilling the moves, and mastering the many combat techniques of kickboxing. The training sessions are exhausting but equally rewarding. Expert and patient instructors will take you through your paces, knowing how to get the best out you. The standard is incredibly high, but you are in safe hands, and you won't be asked to do something you are not ready to do. This is a life changing way to exercise, get fit, and master a fighting skill. The hard work pays off and is incredibly rewarding. After eighteen years of training I'm still learning and haven't regretted a single session.

I've been training at TMAP for nearly four years. When I first started, I was out of shape and low on self confidence so the prospect of training in a martial arts dojo was quite intimidating! Fortunately, I had a trial session with a wonderfully patient instructor and was immediately hooked. I now attend multiple days per week and love every moment of my time there. It's one of the few places where I feel like I really belong.
All the instructors at TMAP are fantastic teachers; they will push you to your limits (and just a little beyond), and have a strong understanding of what each student can and cannot do. Naturally, they're also amazing kickboxers and fun to watch! As a result you finish each class feeling as though you've had a fantastic workout, and a strong sense of achievement and progression. This has remained the case as I've slowly progressed through each tier of classes and applies no matter what level you're at.
The classes themselves are a ton of fun; no two are ever the same, you always learn something new, and there's a real sense of community as everyone is rooting for each other. The atmosphere of the dojo is friendly and welcoming, with an undertone of serious training and hard work. No matter what level of ability you're at when coming into the dojo, students and instructors alike are extremely supportive and more than happy to give advice.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering taking up a martial art to come to TMAP.

A friend signed me up for a tryout over a year ago and ended up joining immediately at the end of it. Great friendly environment to train in with a variety of classes at all times so you can always find a time that suits your schedule. The Senseis always take time to answer any question you may have and assist you to achieve what you are looking for whether it is improving technique or fitness, would definitely recommend it!

I joined TMAP early last year. It has almost been a full year since I have joined and cannot be happier that I found this dojo. Each time I go training I come out feeling good and tired at the same time. The instructors are all very kind people who will challenge you and help you get better at the same time. In the time I have been their I have gained a better overall health and life style in my life. Starting with the fact that I lost over 3 stones since I joined this wonderful place. The people who train here are all very friendly and the general atmosphere is quite alluring as we all support each other to slowly but surely get better. TMAP also gave me a huge moral boost as you gain confidance and discipline through hardwork.
Overall, I would recommend this dojo for anyone who is seeking to start a martial art, to incorporate a change in their routine life , to challenge themselves or simply attempting get a better health and moral/selfconfidence.

This is a great club to keep fit, motivated and learn new skills. I have been training here for about 5 years and loved every single session. I always leave the dojo soaking wet in a sweat! All senseis are great, keeping you motivated and pushing through tiredness, giving a lot of attention to both technique as well as fitness.
Would recommend to anyone, be it a complete novice or experienced. :)

Fantastic, place to learn martial arts - or just improve your fitness. The team are incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating an inclusive atmosphere but always encouraging you to push just a little more than you thought was possible. The classes are varied weekly meaning you never get bored and there's something for everyone. Thoroughly recommended to anyone, whatever your level.

I used to go to the gym next door but found it really boring, unsocial and hard to stay motivated. I saw the advert for the TMAP dojo and went along for a free taster session. 18 months later I still really enjoy the training and only wish I could train more often. I enjoy the type of exercise as it is definitely a full body work out and improves my flexibility as well. The instructors are all really friendly, helpful and professional. My classmates are quite friendly and social and I've met some interesting characters over the last year and a half. I've found this to be a place where I can get out of the training exactly what I need - I'm more focussed on getting fitter and improving flexibility than on intense sparring and have found the classes and instructors flexible enough to achieve this. I always leave the class really tired but wanting more and looking forward to the next one!

I really enjoy training at The Martial Arts Place. Since joining the dojo (almost two years ago), I have become healthier/fitter physically and mentally. TMAP has a very welcoming and calming environment and both senseis and students are friendly and humbling.

I've found TMAP to be a great place to learn kickboxing and to improve my fitness. Everyone associated with the centre is very friendly and welcoming. They have a great set of instructors who push the students just the right amount. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to learn martial arts or just wanting to get fit.

I've been training at TMAP now for 4 1/2 years.I totally love it. 5 Stars is not enough. It is a great way to get fit and stay fit, at the same learning a new skill and all in a friendly fun environment. The Sensei's are all brilliantly encouraging and motivational and push you to do your best and reach new goals. As well as all the fitness pluses you'll also meet a great bunch of people and make some great friends :)

When I first started training I thought I would only last 6 months and now 4 and half years later I am training more than ever.
This is a fantastic club with an excellent atmosphere, the sensai's and students alike have a passion for the sport and it really shows through their teaching and learning.
It's a fun place to learn something new and meet a great bunch of people from all walks of life. Highly recommend this place for anyone who fancies something a bit different.

Been training here over two years, having tried out several different dojos and gyms in London.
They cater for all levels and abilities. Classes cover beginner, intermediate and senior levels of training and also focus on specific belt gradings.
Classes are varied and focus points change weekly, offering a balance between fitness, fun, technique and sparring.

It's an awesome place to delve deep into learning kickboxing (in my case) and also to have a nice and friendly atmosphere to learn, understand your true potential, be a community and make new friends.

I highly recommend TMAP!
The dojo is an avid environment to train and is always filled with friendly and enthusiastic individuals that are consistently supportive and help you achieve your goals. The class structures are really creative and dynamic when it comes to fitness, conditioning and improving technique, while the senseis are always willing to help and provide expert advice.
Overall, TMAP is a great place to workout and gives you that proactive ‘feel good’ confident attitude that makes you want to learn more and strive to become a better martial artist! Far more worthwhile experience than simply going to the gym!

Brilliant dojo for raising your fitness with a great focus on technique, in a very safe and friendly environment. I've spent the last 2 of my 5 years training martial arts at TMAP Swiss Cottage and have thoroughly enjoyed them.

I started training with Sensei Russell over 15 years ago...and I'm still doing it. Excellent high standard of martial arts, with a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. All levels really enjoy it and get a lot out of it. Having a black belt doesn't make you a good teacher! These guys really have the knack of getting you to flourish, get strong and fit and do things you never knew you would be able to! This is not like sitting on an exercise bike listening to your iPod! My son has been coming to the children's classes for two years which for a 7 year old is pretty amazing! Very highly recommended.

I've started to practice Kickboxing there this year and it became instantly my passion. I've tried ordinary gym before, and it's just to boring. I believe martial arts are the most complete sport for your body and mind. It is not only the best way to get fit, but also a self-confidence builder usefull and educational experience. Also .....Fun!

I’m a big fan of The Martial Arts Place. It’s a great place to exercise, learn kickboxing and meet interesting people. I started because I was overweight and I stayed because of the fun and friendly environment. Highly recommended to anyone looking to get into shape and have fun while doing so.

Excellent dojo with dedicated trainers who will to push you to develop your skills. Good balance of etiquette/traditionalism with a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Have trained here for over a year and feel like there is still plenty to learn!

I’m quite new to this dojo but I signed up straight after my trial class with them. It is exactly what I was looking for, reasonable prices, flexible membership, senseis who care and try to teach you technique as well as improve it and also a genuinely nice and friendly atmosphere. I’m happy I signed up with them!

Definitely the best place in London to train martial arts! Very encouraging and safe environment and everyone who trains here is so nice and kind to each other!! Started here 8 months ago and can't think of going anywhere else!!

I started kickboxing with TMAP a year ago as a complete beginner and I am glad I found this Dojo.
The class are well structured: a good combination of techniques and workout. During a class the senseis give you clear explanations, always show you the techniques and provide constructive feedbacks.
Because the people of TMAP are very friendly, there is a good atmosphere in the Dojo and the mood is just as friendly between students of all levels, advanced ones are very approachable and will happily help you too or answer your questions.
The good thing with TMAP is that they will encourage you to push yourself and do better, but they won’t push you beyond your limits.

I have been training at TMAP for about a year now. I had absolutely no martial arts background before this, and I must say I am completely hooked. TMAP has a very supportive atmosphere where it seems everyone is rooting for everyone, and it makes the hard work so much easier for me as a student here to endure. The senseis are all very knowledgeable, and genuinely concerned about and invested in the progress of the students. My feelings of self-fulfilment grow as I see myself get better, it is a wonderful feeling, and for that, I couldn’t recommend TMAP more.

I will never forget the day I walked in to the dojo for the first time - I went to watch a beginners class just ahead of my own trial class the following week. I loved the atmosphere and the vibe of the place. I'd been to other dojos before - for taekwondo and kung fu - but this was the first place I went to and immediately thought 'I belong here'. And I knew that all within the first minute of being there. And that was a pretty big feat for me, as I had always been anxious and shy around people. That was three years ago, and since then, I have met a some close friends and come to see the people I train with as family. It's the first thing I've truly put heart and soul into, and not quit. Not through injury (and there have been many!), distance, unemployment or dark times. Kickboxing at The Martial Arts Place was something I didn't want to give up and I've met Sensei's and other students that didn't give up on me, and the bond I have to this humble dojo and the Sensei's that I train with is forever lasting. It's a place where people laugh, have fun, work hard and encourage one another.
T.M.A.P is a part of my own heart and so are the family I train with there. I now also help out at T.M.A.P myself now - something I never would have had the courage to do about 3 or 4 years ago - and it's great to see people achieve their goals and push themselves to the max.
If you want to go to a friendly dojo, full of spirit, respect, fun times and the smell of hard work.... look no further than T.M.A.P.

I'm coming up to my 1yr anniversary and wish I could train more often. Its huge amounts of fun, great to get in shape and all the instructors + students are awesome. Couldn't recommend more highly....just go and see for yourself!

The great thing about TMAP that sets it apart from it's competitors is its accessibility - whatever your level, from beginner through advanced, or your need, from simple fitness to sparring and competition, the instructors always remain attuned and accommodating ensuring you always get as much out of it as you want and quite often that little bit extra. Couldn't recommend it more.

Great, friendly kickboxing club.
Just started training here after a bad experience in another kickboxing club. Great centre, really friendly, welcoming, reasonable price and good quality instructors.
Throughly recommend it.

They motivate and encourage you to train harder and be at your best, i cant possibly praise them enough!! its the best place where i can stay fit, have fun and meet interesting people :) oh and the time-table is great too, its flexible and many options you can choose from.
p.s if you looking for one, and stumbled across TMAP site (just like i did few months ago) you are on the right page :) good luck ;)

This is a fantastic place to get help you learn a new skill, get fit and make some friends doing it. All levels are welcome (I started as a novice) and everyone is really friendly and helpful. Once you start, you'll just want to do more and more.

Fantastic place, I signed up up straight after my trial lesson, I been looking for a dojo like this for a while, the environment is super nice and the sensei extremely understandable of the student needs, can't wait to my next class.

I've been taking courses in this dojo for almost 1.5 years now, nice place, very nice people and great fun ! The Senseis help you to progress at your own speed in a friendly atmosphere!

Great club! At first I was sceptical but a friend of mine took me to the place in order to show me how a typical training is going. I was impressed. Next week, it's on!
