I’m really glad had a trial class with Patrice. I already feel much safer now, and he is a really nice person/teacher. Totally recommend!!!

Great class for more than two years now, too bad the covid happened and I missed a lot . Patrick is an outstanding teacher who pushes you to keep going and not give up. I never thought that a short thin woman like me can defend herself from the attack of a guy. Right now I feel more confident and stronger. Cant recommend this class enough.

My daughter and I had lessons with Patrice for almost a year. The lessons were fun whilst also providing a great work-out and, most importantly, Patrice taught us a wide range of self defence skills. Patrice was the ultimate professional; his lessons were well-structured and he was very patient and reassuring when faced with 2 females of differing ages and physical abilities. Highly recommended!

Really great class that I can highly recommend. Patrice is an excellent teacher. The class is very mixed between gender and ability so good for most people. You learn such useful skills, build confidence, get fit and above all have fun! Having done a different krav maga class elsewhere previously I found this class to be more challenging, enjoyable and welcoming.

I've been training with Patrice for nearly a year now and cannot recommend him enough. He is a fantastic teacher who transfers his knowledge effortlessly. All the techniques you will learn are practical in real-life situations, this combined with some demanding fitness drills creates a perfect training session. It is exciting to learn how to deal with new situations each week and before the end of each session you'll be confident in your own ability to execute the techniques demonstrated. He is also very approachable and extremely flexible as a personal trainer.

The Krav Maga instructor Patrice is a highly skilled teacher and lovely guy. He always makes people of all abilities and experience levels, feel very welcome. Despite being there to learn a brutal self defence system, I have never even felt an essence of the alpha male egos that you get at some other martial art clubs.
Patrice will always patiently teach the complex moves in a relatable way to real life scenarios. He will often suggest a different approach to compliment the areas that my girlfriend and I are individually better at.
I would recommend learning Krav Maga with Patrice to anyone.

Great fun while learning to look after yourself. Patrice is a great teacher giving input to everyone. The classes are very mixed so don't worry if you are a girl going on your own. Everyone is welcoming, there are no cliques. I'd definitely recommend coming along.

I approached Patrice about holding a workshop for 10 Year 7 girls to learn some basic self-defence. We live in Lewisham and there had been a few incidents with knives near my daughter’s school and I wanted her, and her friends, to feel more confident should they ever get confronted. Patrice was happy to hold the session and we booked a 90 minute workshop for a Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival the girls were asked to warm up and then Patrice professionally took them through several self-defence moves, this ended with him tackling knife incidents. The session was energetic, fun, interactive and very well planned out. Some of the basic moves he taught the girls were easy to implement and the girls learnt a lot during the time in the session. Apart from the physical training and tips that he gave the girls what I was really impressed with was the way Patrice spoke with the girls, they asked lots of questions and he patiently answered all of them in turn, often using demonstrations to help them understand what is and what is not possible if attacked. He never once lost his patience, or responded to any question in a patronising way, and some of the questions were a bit dramatic at times! I would highly recommend Patrice to anyone wanting to learn about self-defence and hope to cross paths with him again one day. Thank you Patrice

I started Patrice’s class as I was looking for a new experience; having heard of Kaga Maga years ago, I decided to try.
I am so glad I DID.
The class is very friendly, everyone is welcome. Patrice is a great instructor, he explains and shows the moves and you really learn practical techniques.
I have been back regularly and don’t want to miss a class as I feel fitter, more confident and want to learn more technique... so watch out ;)

Patrice has developed a training strategy that is built on ability and levels of fitness. Basically, one size does not fit all. The training is tailor made to the individual but still pushes and develops your skill, fitness and technique. Patrice’s is a patient, careful and dedicated trainer, who does not believe in a macho attitude to martial arts. It is not how “hard” you have to be, rather it is about how well taught you are.
I had been keen to learn practical self defence for sometime and discovered Patrice’s Krav Maga classes were in my local area. I started with his weekly group training sessions to get a good understanding of what Krav Maga is and what it offers as a form of self defence. Patrice provides a non-linear training structure, meaning you will learn a new move or technique each session, rather than drill repetitive moves hour after hour. As your confidence and ability improve, the techniques become more sophisticated, but always have a foundation in the early moves you learn.
I have now taken up Patrice’s one-to-one training sessions as it provides much more in-depth teaching. He works with you to improve your fitness and strength while developing simple and effective defensive techniques that would leave your attacker incapacitated, allowing the opportunity for escape.
I have been recommending all my friends get involved with Krav Maga, especially the female ones. It is better to be trained and not need it, than not trained and need it. I will continue to recommend Patrice’s training to any one interested in learning an effective form of self defence. He truly is keen to help anyone develop the necessary skills to help you defend yourself against attackers.

I attended a few sessions with Patrice and found them to be really helpful. They're hands-on and focus on a few key moves each week, repeating them to help embed them. I also really appreciated how friendly and considerate Patrice was, providing full joining instructions, taking a genuine interest in feedback and recommending instructors closer to where I live.

Fantastic experience training at Urban Fit & Fearless. The class is great improving your overall fitness as well as practical, no nonsense, self defence instruction.
Having done a little bit of Ju Jitsu as a child I really enjoy the more streamlined, practical approach of Krav Maga. Patrice is a great teacher and all techniques are broken down in such a way that you can pick them up very quickly, asking questions or not getting it first time is never a problem. The classes are also structured in such a way that there is something for all abilities.

Patrice is an outstanding teacher. He breaks down complex techniques and make them seem easy. After just a few classes I feel stronger and safer. I would highly recommend him as a teacher to anyone who wants to learn a self-defence method that really works.

Having tried other places before, I am extremely satisfied with these Krav Maga trainings. Our instructor is completely professional, very engaging and mindful of how participants experience the trainings, sensitive to you personally yet encouraging based on your level, capabilities and age. The sessions are kept simple focussed on building up the techniques and simple concepts of the sport, ingraining them as a routine so they become reactive movements while being diverse throughout the year so there is always something new to learn. Leave every class feeling empowered and stronger. Can not recommend this any more to everyone young or old!

I turned up at Patrice ' s class a bit of a wreck. I was in the horrible situation of having been attacked on the street 3 times having picked myself up a stalker with mental health issues.
I left the first class feeling a little better, by the third class I was back to my old self and was quietly confident that if I was attacked again I had moves that would ensure I wasn't hurt at all or at least not badly.
I wouldn't say I am glad to have been attacked but thanks to Patrice and his teaching I have never been more capable of defending myself.
If you are thinking about trying it out my advice is do it..... you won't regret it! 😊

I come from a different perspective than others - complacency. I'd somehow always been confident in my ability to get rid of an attacker, but probably for the wrong reasons. I'm reasonably active/strong and not horribly coordinated, and was curious about krav maga so I joined this group as a pragmatic alternative to a traditional martial art.
Well... Pragmatic it certainly is, but most importantly it's incredibly insightful. I got to experience credible pretend-attacks in class and realised I'd be nowhere with my instinctive reactions. Humbling.
Patrice has been teaching me to re-program these reactions and I notice a massive difference in the effectiveness of my defence style. I have some way to go before I can face a strong opponent with unpredictable techniques but there's progress and it's surprisingly satisfying to see how much leverage you can (literally) have over a big guy if you make the right move at the right time. Again, profoundly insightful (and great fun).

Patrice is a really good teacher and will push you to your own limits. The classes are well structured and have really helped build my confidence and fitness :)

I have trained in a lot of schools for over 13 years and I have to say this class is one of the best. My background is mainly in taekwondo and kickboxing but have trained in several others styles including hapkido and jui jitsu. Whilst these are all good very few classes teach the practicalities of putting technique into practice. I have also found most classes to be very style restrictive and rigid in their techniques. During these classes the emphasis early on is fitness and learning new techniques. Then during the pressure tests, designed to put you in a situation that closely mimics a real fight, we learn to how to make the techniques work in a realistic fashion. If during the pressure test the situation changes and another technique or strategy becomes more appropriate (from any discipline you may have encountered before) then its use is actively encouraged. This focus on raw practicality allows those with experience to develop style integrated approaches to self-defence that fundamentally work. Whilst this is the case there is a really accommodating attitude towards people of all experience levels and a great atmosphere. Patrice's dedication and patience allows him to push everybody to their potential, even if that does sometimes require a knock with a thai-pad when you drop your guard. If you want to learn to actually defend yourself, develop your style in a dynamic way and improve your fitness there are few places better!

The skills Patrice taught me in just a couple of weeks of attending his classes definitely helped me when I was assaulted at work. I work for the ambulance service and sadly we are occasionally attacked. Last Sunday a drunk man tried to strangle me and I utilised self defense techniques taught to me by Patrice and quickly was out of his hold and restraining him until the police arrived.

Update to my old review -
I have now been going to Patrice's class at Urban Fit and Fearless for over two years, and I can say without a doubt that going there has become something I look forward to every week to the point of 'addiction'. I now understand the difference that a good instructor makes when it comes to getting someone like me (a fully uncoordinated, usual benchwarmer at school events, waste of space in all matters sports) to being fully committed to something and becoming actually GOOD at it - which was previously unthinkable.
Coming here regularly has, after this time, completely altered the way I think about myself, others, the 'victim / compliant mentality' that many women carry with them, violence and the need to assert myself. I think this is the step that was probably missing before, that is now fully ingrained.
At no point did I feel unsafe, bullied (some instructors can be quite abusive), fearful or pushed to something I didnt want to do; I have reached places in my own time at my own pace, and am now extremely thankful to Patrice, and a bit proud of myself that I got where I got
I can't recommend enough
I've been attending Urban Fit & Fearless regularly for almost a year now and it has completely changed my attitude towards contact sports.
For one, the way the class is designed allows people of all fitness (and coordination skills) levels to progress quite fast in techniques that are simple, but very useful - in that I can see myself actually using them, if it comes to it, and properly so. Additionally, the fitness component of the class is very demanding, but the results and the improvement can be seen pretty soon. You are encouraged to push yourself as much as you can and every day it gets better
Last but not least, as a girl my attitude towards aggression / violence has changed - from freezing on the spot to being able to hold my ground and being convinced that I can, and should fight back. Patrice makes sure that we are aware that the purpose of the fight is not the fight per se, but to escape to safety as quickly as possible

Unfortunately, due to long term health issues, I was only able to attend a couple of these classes. I really enjoyed those that I went to, and found that the mixture of other attendees, plus Patrice's expertise, made for an interesting and challenging class. I would thoroughly recommend.

Ive tried a few classes relating to defence and martial arts, but this is the first time i've come across something good! that I will actually be coming back to for regular classes. I felt very comfortable as a beginner in the class, and came away feeling like I had learnt something, which is rare from a first session! cant wait to go back and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to practice self defence!
