I have two children at this school and the academic standards, pastoral care and dedication of the teaching staff are all outstanding. The school encourages every child to do their best and achieve their potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.
My youngest child joined reception in September, the teaching staff went above and beyond to get to know each new child and settle them happily into school life. The excellent headteacher was very involved in this process, she is approachable while commanding the respect of children and parents. The school feels to be in good hands under her headship.
In short, my children are happy to go to school every morning, proud to wear their uniform and be part of this community minded school.

Delighted with the school. Not only does it have high academic standards, the atmosphere is very happy and supportive. Younger children are nurtured and mentored by older ones through a buddying system which results in a real sense of community.
The pupils are encouraged to take on responsibilities and talk with great pride about their school.
Teachers and teaching assistants are very caring and helped both of my children to settle quickly.

Both my children are at this school and as parents my wife and I couldn't be happier. The standard of education is very high and this is reflected in the excellent reputation the school has in the local area. Both our children are flourishing at the school and go in very happy and come home very happy. The teaching is very good and this can be seen by the consistent attainment level the school achieves. The teachers themselves are very approachable and overall running of the school is also very good.

A happy, caring and exceptional school.
My son is in his second year and we couldn’t be happier with the school. The teachers he’s had have been extremely dedicated and approachable. The class he’s in is very cohesive - everyone is friends. The work they are doing is varied and of a high standard (parents coming from a local private prep have said the standard is at least as high at Walker).
The head is fantastic. She is very hands on, energetic and experienced. I’ve heard that staff are happy and the school seems to have a great sense of itself.
One thing I really like is that, while the school is focussed on academic goals, the children still always seem to be learning new songs for an assembly together or celebration at the church, and involved in activities outside the curriculum.
There is a great sense of community - e.g. parents volunteer to help at events or surprise the children by decorating the school for Christmas. I’ve made friends too!
I’ve read the previous post - my son has never had the TA referred to, but I’ve only ever heard nice things about her.

The earlier positive reviews about the school are totally accurate. The academic standards are high but the work is correctly pitched to the children's own abilities and there are loads of opportunities for fun activities such as excursions and workshops. This is balanced with a pro-active approach to pupil wellbeing.
There is also a genuine feeling of a vibrant and welcoming school community which children and parents benefit from.

Have had nothing but a great experience with walker school. My son and daughter love the school and the teachers are all great. Not sure why a couple of teachers have been singled out. It's effectively online bullying to name them. For the record, they are good. My kids are learning and are set the right level of homework. I think the school is organised and the communications by text is the best way to get a message out. Yes there are alot of texts but I would rather be over communicated, than not know anything. Keep up the great work of inspiring kids with limited funding.

My daughter and I are very happy with the academic standards in the school and children are very respectful and well mannered.
