I joined Wave at age 39, after a long time believing that my martial arts days were well and truly over. Apprehensive about being that big older, and not exactly in my peak physical prime (!) what I’ve found is a fantastic, welcoming club where all instructors and fellow members truly care about helping you on your BJJ journey. I am now well and truly hooked! I love the varied classes and flexible timetable on offer, and every instructor brings their own unique way of teaching in a fun, accessible, patient and caring environment. For us ladies there’s even a top notch Women’s Class with Mel on a Saturday! Lorenzo has built a brilliant club and I am so thankful that I joined ‘the Wave’!

I’ve trained at Wave for 5 1/2 years and I’d never want to train anywhere else! A great range of instructors with different teaching styles, a mix of gi, nogi and wrestling, and a relaxed and friendly environment to learn and train in. The women’s only class is also amazing!!

I had my first ever Jiu-Jitsu experience today and I had an incredible time! All my anxieties were immediately put to rest upon meeting Lorenzo and the all the other members, a fantastic group of people. Lorenzo is kind, patient and incredibly knowledgeable. Great BJJ gym where you can train in a relaxed environment not only Jiu Jitsu, but other martial arts as well. The coaches are knowledgeable and everyone helps each other. You get the sense of the community right from the start which is great for motivation. Definitely recommending to everyone who wants to try get a new martial arts hobby!

Best thing I ever did was join this club. It can be quite daunting joining a new martial arts club but the people/students here are super friendly and you will soon feel at ease with everyone. Lorenzo is a wonderful teacher who has earned his black belt under one of the best BJJ guys in the world! Your fitness will greatly improve and along the way you will learn one of the most effective martial arts to date. Couldn't recommend it enough!

I joined Wave BJJ back in November last year with very limited martial arts experience. It's been one of the best decisions I've made and I've now competed 3 times. Lorenzo is very welcoming and knowledgeable and the other members are really friendly and supportive.

I went here on Tuesday night beginner class December 12. Lorenzo was very friendly and informative. About Wave academy. The area looked clean and well kept. The mats where in good condition and clean. It was very nice to have the mirrors on the wall also. It was a dance studio before he changed it into a BJJ school. Lorenzo is very informative in his approach. He explains the technique very well. By showing and by explanation. He allows questions also. Very patient with his students. He would answer all questions. I observe that while we where practicing the technique. He would go around and adjust what he saw you doing wrong. Also worth mentioning was the class size, was not over crowded for the mat area. Which was a huge problem with my old academy. I have to say that I really enjoyed my class here. He offers a free class. Wave has a few other classes also. Wrestling, Muay Thia, wave fit, Pilates and women’s only classes. If you are looking for something new. I would strongly recommend Wave to try Lorenzo academy.

This place is great. I was visiting from New York and everyone here was super welcoming. I came to the Sunday open mat which was full of great rolls (both gi and no gi). Definitely recommend this place to all skill levels.
