T. L.As a beginner, I took up French after I retired, and Isabelle has now been my tutor for several years. She is unfailingly supportive, cheerful, hardworking and reliable. She is also a good teacher with an excellent knowledge of French and English. She is interested in many things and is easy to talk to about them, which makes the lessons enjoyable, informative and fun. When it comes to exam preparation Isabelle focuses exactly on what is needed, including a good dose of exam technique with a suitable supply of past papers.
Initially, I used to go to her house and, occasionally, had lessons remotely. For example, when I was spending time in France. However, since March 2020, all my lessons have been via Skype and I suspect that things will remain this way, even after the pandemic has passed. With no adverse impact on lesson quality, the improved convenience for everyone is obvious,
I can highly recommend Isabelle as a French teacher.

My objective is to improve my conversational French and she is always very creative with lessons that can involve video and audio clips as well as written articles. She is a superb teacher with great experience; empathetic, flexible and creative in her approach. Her lessons are fun and interesting with a wide range subject matter including culture, history, current affairs, food, daily life and much more, and she is happy to tailor them to the different requirements of her students, from brushing up conversational skills to tackling formal exams. My one regret is that I didn’t get on with it sooner, but I could not have found a better mentor to help make up for lost time!
