Reviews of Swanbourne House School

My daughter started this term and as new parents who were apprehensive about sending our little darling off to board in a prep school, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We investigated our options thoroughly and the initiatives of the new head, the renewed focus on excellence and the welcoming and nurturing environment swayed us.
I understand how change is inevitably difficult for many, but the relentless focus on a fantastic new vision to take the school from just another prep school to one that is best in class has already set this school and our child on a solid footing. The evidence of success is already clear and is everything we could have hoped for.
I have spoken to many parents and it's clear that the change management and communication could have been better. This appears to have detracted from the substance of how this school has moved to become an excellent educational establishment. Nevertheless, a huge thank you to Mrs Thorpe and her staff for sticking with the change regardless, even if they could have made the process better on themselves.
Most importantly, or child loves the school, her colleagues, the staff, the accommodation, the programmes and most of all, the restaurant-quality food.

I remember this school from ages ago,the food was alright and a lot of the time was pretty fun to be there as I remember doing the lion king parade and I especially enjoyed the weekends and I remembered that we were playing a game of cat and mouse through the forest/hedge and a cat came out of no where and scared one of the gappie’s so bad he fell into a bush of nettles and after school activities where very interesting to do too!.I remember learning how to tie a tie and my passion of rugby of rugby.Though the anti bullying system was not to great and I remember I was bursting for the toilet and I was not able to go to the toilet because of a no toilet rule in the night.but I have fond memories of the place and I wish to go back at one point to see the school! But I have not been there in a while so I have not seen it since about 2015 or 2016? I can’t remember.really bu

We have two children at the school who are very different from each other in outlook, approach and interests but who are both thriving. They love it at Swanbourne and look forward to going to school everyday. The school's academic results are great and the children get so many opportunities to challenge themselves indoors and out. Music, drama and sport are particularly strong, and the new outdoor teambuilding equipment is fantastic. As parents, we love how well-mannered and thoughtful the children are at Swanbourne. The teachers are brilliant and have very positive relationships with the children on an individual basis. A truly great, all-round Prep School. Thank you Swanbourne. We couldn't ask for more.

I would like to clarify that the review under the name "Fab Staten" is absolutely nothing to do with me, my family or my Wife's business. It is pathetic that someone would feel the need to use our name and not have the gumption to use their own name to make a negative comment! We strongly disagree with the comments made in that review.
I can say that having had 5 children attend the School, as well as attending the school myself that I have nothing but fond memories of the School that is set in a wonderful location and has fabulous facilities, there are some wonderful staff at Swanbourne and we personally felt the new head has made a positive impact. Children are lucky to attend this school and are given wonderful opportunities, overall a well rounded education! We have reported the erroneous review to google!

Our children could not be happier at Swanbourne, it continues to go from strength to strength, having just achieved its best CE results for 4 years and with all leavers achieving entry into their 1st choice senior schools, you cannot ask for more than this. A wonderful place for children to play, learn and develop into wonderful people, the outdoor setting and environment is second to none. Investment in teaching staff and facilities continues to be improved year on year. I could not speak more highly of the school and it’s dedicated teaching staff who are the real stars of the show. The board of governors are hugely experienced and knowledgeable and this includes the current headmaster of Harrow School.

We have put three children through Swanbourne (two still there in final years) from Nursery. All have really enjoyed their time and been able to enjoy the variety that Swanbourne offers - fantastic drama and music departments, varied activity and sports programmes with lots of opportunities to find their niche, and good Art and DT, plus the Boarding House is brilliant at gearing them up for the next big step (or just getting a night to yourselves once a week whilst they enjoy time with their friends). Any niggles we may have had (because no school is totally perfect) have always been outweighed by the fact that the children are happy and supported there.

I have two children at Swanbourne House School and can't speak highly enough about it. There's genuine focus on them as individuals (so they're driven to achieve whatever they set out to do) but at the same time they're allowed to be children and have the freedom to enjoy life!
