1st day taster session. 4 year old loved it and wants to go again. Seems expensive but hope it's worth it in the end. Gracie Barra Nottingham is a martial art school and club for the hole family. The facilities are nice and clean. High class of certificated Instructors. Many years of experience and a very friendly environment for everyone. The kids classes starts with 3 y.o. and all single programme have a solid and professional structure. The fundamental programme for Adults is designed for people with and without experience. The full-time schedule also offer classes for ladies and it is a great opportunity for women start the martial art with an awesome environment.

One of the best places to train BJJ in the UK. Suitable for all ages and levels with friendly and knowledgeable coaches.

Best BJJ school in Nottingham. Amazing envirioment with very professional and friendly staff. They really take moto "BJJ for all" very seriously. The head instructor is Victor Estima, He is a world champion and a world class instructor. If you are serious about training and competing this is also the place.

I felt very welcome and comfortable here from my first session. The professors and coaches are amazing and their knowledge is incredible! There are also so many ladies training here now, we have so much fun and many laughs whilst learning. This is a very high level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy. It is accessible to everyone, from the people who want to learn how to defend themselves in a street situation, to the people that want to practice Jiu Jitsu for fun or to get fit, to the ones that want to become world class level athletes. It is a very friendly and welcoming environment, in that I found my best friends here. The coaches and professors are very skilled, always available and happy, so once you enter this place you forget about the bad things and the best version of yourself automatically comes out!

If being completely new to any form of martial art wasn't daunting enough, throw in to the mix the fact i am also an above knee amputee and you have a whole different kettle of fish! I was super nervous to get started with Jiu-jitsu as i really didn't know how much, if any of the training, i would be able to do. My first interaction with GB Nottingham was via email, with the manager of the centre Philip. I explained that i fancied giving jiu-jitsu a go but given my circumstances i didn't know if it would work out, he wasn't phased in the slightest by my lack of legs and encouraged me to attend one of their sessions to get a feel for what BJJ is and assured me that i would be able to do the training and drills. When i arrived for my first ever session the staff and everybody else were so friendly and welcoming, nobody seemed even slightly bothered about a human with one leg wanting to train jiu-jitsu and i was quickly thrown into action. All of the staff and professors have the highest standards and at every stage made me feel like i could do anything that was thrown at me, for the drills that generally require 2 legs, the professors would already have a way that i could adapt the drills to have the same outcome with minimal adjustment. I'm still very new to the Jiu-Jitsu game but I'm glad that i chose GB Nottingham, from first contact to every session i attend, they have been the most helpful and supportive humans and i would 100% recommend Gracie Barra Nottingham to ANYBODY who wants to give Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a go!! Gracie Barra Nottingham really are the physical embodiment of their motto "Jiu-Jitsu for everyone" highly recommend!!

The school is amazing, really good facilities, the matts are of very high quality and always very clean. The proffessors are world class champion athletes. The environment is very much like a family, I was welcomed in from my very first taster lesson by all the proffesors and coaches and i’ve fallen in love with the Brazilian jiu jitsu world. As a woman, coming into a primarily male dominated sport it felt very intimidating at first, however the school operates under the motto of ‘Jiu Jitsu for everyone’ and it really is. I love this school, it’s my safe place.

Having recently joined Gracie Barra Nottingham my advice to those thinking about coming down to see what it's all about is to stop thinking about it and just get yourself down here! I wish I had come down months ago when I first got told about it by a great friend. When you arrive there is plenty of free parking on surrounding streets and on entering everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. There is a great range of people in all different shapes, sizes and ages so don't worry if you're unsure whether Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is for you or not as the most important thing is taking that first step and starting your journey 👍

Visited nottingham as a tourist and came here for 1 class. The mats were awesome. The people were skilled and super nice. I think the Instructor could have been warmer but i guess he was nice enough. I only give 4 stars because I wasn't allowed to use my blank gi and I didn't feel very welcomed from the instructor.
