Kheiron school more than lived up to my expectations. The teachers are not only approachable, caring and open-hearted but also passionate and talented in helping you to improve your English. From day one I felt welcomed and comfortable. The lessons were exciting and diverse due to their progressive way of teaching. This is one of the best places to study in town. I had a great experience there. In my case, I took the CAE exam and with their help I passed it. I've had a fantastic experience at Kheiron School of English this summer. I've moved into the UK at the end of June and I have attended intensive classes for four weeks. I did the CAE in August and the results were great! Besides that, the atmosphere at Kheiron was always vibrant and friendly, the teachers are really experienced and, most of all, they are very nice people! I can highly recommend the Kheiron School of English. The teachers are really friendly and were always there to help if I had any questions or problems. All the people you meet there are really nice and the atmosphere in the classroom is relaxed but at the same time you learn a lot. Hello, I am Francesca and I attended the Kheiron school. After careful research on the web, I found the Kheiron with excellent value for money and my expectations were completely fulfilled. When I arrived I did not speak a word of English but now I can communicate and I am already on my second job interview in English. I chose Kheiron School of English based on its flexibility, price per hour in comparison to other language schools and the possibility to select one or two lessons per week instead of time-consuming programs that other schools offered (I prefer to study on my own). I've had a wonderful experience at Kheiron and will be attending my last class next week, I'm so sad that my studies there are coming to an end. The staff at the school are open and very friendly, always there ready to help you should you need it. The timetable is very flexible and the prices are great! Since I first started 8 months ago I've improved my grammar a lot and now have a much wider range of vocabulary. No matter what level you are at in English, you're bound to improve yourself while going to classes at Kheiron. Also it doesn't hurt that the teaching environment is small, although not overly so, and very cozy. Before and between classes you've got the possibility to grab a cup of tea or coffee and sit on the comfy sofas provided for the students. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone especially those looking to improve their English or prepare for an exam.

I can highly recommend Kheiron School of English. It´s really close to the High street so it´s easy to go there. They have amazing teachers; kind, helpfull and very patient. I learned so much every time and I also just loved going to school. And when I did my CAE exam I felt really well prepared because of the lessons. My working hours were different every week, so I had to switch courses a lot. But Kheiron School of English is so flexible. I never paid for a missed lesson, I could just go to another one. If you ever get the opportunity to study English in the beautiful city of Oxford, you can already count yourself lucky. But if you want to make the very most of your time, attending Kheiron School is without doubt a choice you won't regret. First of all, the school impresses with great flexibility regarding students' personal timetables rather than offering but fixed courses. I for example was living in Oxford as an aupair at the time and as such I found it extremely helpful being able to pick the number and time of my weekly classes according to my "aupair schedule". If the job required it, I could change my timetable even on short notice. Apart from that, the quality of teaching I experienced at Kheiron was nothing short of extraordinary. The teachers never fail to make the lessons interesting and fun, while always keeping track of their students' individual development, noticing their progress as well as their needs and giving respective feedback and advice. I could now go on about the social aspect of being part of Kheiron School - how many amazing friends I got to know, how many interesting discussions we had in class or how many lovely afternoons we spent around Oxford thanks to Poppy, Rebecca, Chris and Co. - but that would go beyond the scope of the „short review“ I set out to write. So I'll leave you with this. Go study English at Kheiron. I strongly recommend you DO (Ever heard of the subjunctive? No? Well, you know where to best seek help now...)!

I have just finished to study at Kheiron, but I don't doubt to return if I decide to prepare for an examen or just to take English lessons again. Good rates, flexibility, professionality and understanding. This is all this school gave to me. I took the Proficiency classes and my teacher Chris was probably the best I have ever had in my 37 years of life. I worked as an au pair in Oxfordshire and I had the opportunity to attend the Kheiron School in Oxford for more than one year. I have to say it could not have been better. The Kheiron school offered me classes which perfectly suited me. Having got to know all levels of general English and the exam preparation course, I could judge methods of teaching. I have met nearly all teachers and everybody uses slightly different way how to teach their students. The goal is the same for all of them - they want to help their students with improving English as much as possible. The classes are focussed on needs of students and the atmosphere is very friendly. It always made me feel like home. In spite of the fact that Kheiron is a small school, it achieves big results. In my case, even though I started in pre-intermediate class, they helped me to approach advanced level. The last thing which I would like to mention are social activities. Students can take part in interesting social activities such as picking strawberries, sightseeing, rowing, visiting museums etc. This all makes Kheiron school different from other laguage school in Oxford. I strongly recommend it to everybody who wants to spend time attending English school and enjoy it at the same time.

I attended the general English and CPE preparation classes from January till June 2017. Chris and Rebecca were probably the most dedicated teachers I've ever had. I decided to attend classes at Kheiron School of English after visiting many english schools in Oxford. My decision was mainly based on the size of the classes, which are not bigger than 12 people. However, I was often in classes of 3 or 4 people, which, in my opinion, allowed me to improve faster than I could have done in other schools. Kheiron helped me to build my career in this country, giving me the confidence I needed! I had the good fortune to attend classes with the school's Principal, Ms Poppy Shirlaw, who is both an accomplished teacher and an amiable person. I found the classes very productive and relaxing at the same time. Learning with Poppy enabled me to build up enough confidence and skill to attempt the CPE exam - and pass it with flying colours.

I am originally from Germany and was working as an Aupair in Summertown, Oxford while I attended the Kheiron School from summer 2014 until summer 2015 about three times the week. The school is set in Oxford city centre and therefore easily reached by public transport. I was welcomed extremely kind by the teachers and the other students. After doing a test to assess my English skills, Poppy, the principle, sat down with me and went through the different courses that the school provides. Together we decided that the CAE (Cambridge Advanced Exam) course would be best suitable for me. As the school being very flexible and providing noon and evening classes, I was able to choose for which would fit most into my schedule. Furthermore the Kheinron School is particular flexible about missing classes. As long as your class one day before the lesson you are able to attend the class another time. So your money is not lost. The classes are very well organised and still you can make suggestions about what you still feel insecure about and would like to practise a bit more. The teachers were also very patient with us, I thought their techniques were very affective and at the end of every class I honestly thought: "Wow I learned so much today." And the things you learn help you so much to improve your English when talking to native speakers. What I really enjoyed was that the school was a bit like a family. The teachers knew everybody's names and introduce new students to the class. And after all, I passed my CAE, so I guess it is indeed a great school ;)

I highly recommend it; not only are the teachers highly qualified and prepared but the school is also very flexible with classes. These latter are always interesting and never repetitive, thank's also to the fact that is not used a specific book with a standard program but teachers are always focused on specific needs of students. Classes are not too big, generally from 3 to 10 people, with an homogeneous level, and that's another good quality of this school. Also, the value for money is excellent, I couldn't be more satisfied! Following both group and individual classes I improved my English a lot and I passed the CAE exam. I´d like to say that Kheiron School is probably the best english school in Oxford. I´ll tell you my experience: At first, I chose this school because of its flexible timetables. Thanks to them, you can take classes whenever you want ( mornings, afternoons and evenings), which is very useful if you have to work while you are studying english. Later, when I started my english course, I realised that the teachers and the classes were great! The classes are very good because at the same time that you study grammar, you practise a lot of conversation and you are all the time speaking, which is very important because you improve your fluency and your conversation skills. I improved a lot. Besides, is very cheap in comparison with another english schools in Oxford and there aren´t many students in each class ( four, five... and sometimes two), which I think is much better. The teachers are great because they become your friends. I remember all of them because they were very nice and kind to me. That´s very important. Finally, I´d like to talk about another important thing. Twice a week, the school organise social activities ( free conversation class, the book club...). After these activities, the teacher and the students go to the pub in order to keep on speaking. That´s cool because you make new friends! All in all, I truly recomend this english school. I have been learning English at the Kheiron School of English with Mrs. Poppy Shirlaw since October 2019 until today, and since March 2020, have been taking classes remotely (3 times per week via Zoom). I really do not have worthy words to describe how grateful I am to finally have found a very professional tutor like Mrs. Shirlaw. She has been tirelessly assisting me to enhance my academic writing to be more comprehensible and persuasive. Before meeting Mrs. Shirlaw, I was completely unfamiliar with essay and academic writing structure. Previously, I took numerous English classes with various tutors, but it was prodigal and wasteful. Some of these classes were even taken in countries where English language is the native language, however, they were unable to improve my English from a colloquial to an academic level. Learning English language in general is very important to me as I currently intent to apply to do a Master’s degree in the field of politics whether in the UK or in the USA. Therefore, having the ability to write essays where I can discuss vital topics and successfully illustrate both sides of any dispute was crucial. Mrs. Shirlaw, from the first class, could easily analyse the way how a student like me can best learn. She was the first one who told me that I am gifted with a photographic memory, and she motivated me to utilize it in my studying. She creatively designed my English course in a way that I can learn effectively using my strengths and potential. She also helped me to improve my critical thinking where I can present my viewpoint and at the same time, I can challenge my opinion in any given essay. She also helped me to prepare for my exams; IELTS, an International English language Testing System and GRE, Graduate Record Examinations, the latter of which is mainly required in the American universities. I have found the online classes just as effective as the in-person classes. Mrs. Shirlaw is always punctual, and she made efficient use of the class time to review my essays and allows me to correct my writing, which I found very effective. I really enjoy the English classes with Mrs. Shirlaw and I highly recommend her for those who want to scale up their English writing.

In the following paragraphs I will describe my overall experience about Kheiron without losing sight of objectivity or being biased. Hope it is useful to you. I found this school by accident walking down the street. I was nervous and suspicious at the beggining because I didnt know anything about it. However, after finishing my course I need to say and honour what I saw. Firstly and most important, the teaching staff its absolutely amazing, (thank you Rebecca, thank you Cris, thank you Lucy, thank you Poppy) they will fulfill every English requirement at every level. Particularly, I needed help for the IELTS, well this people really know what they are talking about, they are quite experienced and smart, not to mention their incredible attitude towards students. Its also important to mention that they work as a team, they share to each other the students progress which is a thing that Ive never seen before. Obviously, this impacts formidably on you because a tremendous and strong support team is genuinely behind you and monitoring your progress. I dont know if you can ask somethingelse for a school. However, I must mention that the facilieties are well designed and comfortable and the location is great too. Withing minutes of Oxford center. Finally, because they will no fail to give you their best as teachers and friends for your success, trust me the rest is entirely up to you. You will have everything you will need there. The number of students in one class is small, so you can see them individually (in my experience, there were 2 to 7 students depending on the day). The teachers are all very enthusiastic, well taught, unique and fun. I felt that I wanted to be taught by these teachers sooner. You are also familiar with the common weaknesses of those who have learned English at Japanese schools. However, you will always be able to do your homework, push your back without difficulty, and be taught “natural English”, so you have to do your best (you can feel the effect). In terms of cost, this school is very reasonable. There is no enrollment fee and the materials are distributed free of charge. It is very convenient to be able to arrange the number of classes and the period freely every day, to increase or decrease the number of classes taken along the way, and to take a break. The school is surrounded by a cozy atmosphere, and students from various countries, from beginners to advanced students, can get along very quickly during the holidays. Occasionally, after school you will be offered a mini tour of Oxford, a Punting experience, and a free reading party (free). In terms of location, the bus station and the city center are just around the corner in 5 minutes from the station. Some people come by train from outside Oxford. It ’s a nice school.
