Thrive have a lot of coloured & upper belts and it’s really helped my training excel being surrounded by high calibre people everyday. The coaches are both BJJ black belts & one is also a judo black belt - perfect for stand up competition prep.
Mark & Vini create a relaxed, structured environment to learn and have fun (after all this is a hobby!). Warm ups are quick and Brazilian jujitsu related, takedowns etc.
Overall great training, talented coaches who put themselves out there and compete themselves, amazing team mates who want you to succeed. Best BJJ training in Peterborough by far.
Get in touch with them for a free trial, you won’t regret it.

The main reason why I would recommend Thrive Jiu-Jitsu Academy is the Coaches. Mark and Vini are both black belts with years of experience in martial arts. These experiences are the fundament for teaching, they create an incredibly structured plan for beginners and advanced students. I was training previously 2 years Bjj and how much stuff I was missing. I'm starting fresh again and is eye-opening.
The second reason is the atmosphere, super friendly, ego-free gym where you will be warmly welcomed and you definitely find together with knowledge also friends.
The gym is super clean, you have access to changing rooms, toilets, showers and also a large car park, so no problem with parking.
If you looking to start or come back to training BJJ, this is definitely the best place in Peterborough.

I’ve wanted to give BJJ a go for a while now to replace the camaraderie and competition I got from years of rugby that I’d retired from a few years back. I finally took the plunge after meeting a fellow gym goer who trained at Thrive and can honestly say I’ve loved every minute of it. The two black belt instructors are engaging, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable with decades of martial arts training between them. The rest of the team who train there are great people, they all know how it feels to be a beginner in a new environment and couldn’t be more welcoming or accommodating of the newbie!! There’s no sense they’re going to tear your arm off because they can (and trust me they can if they wanted to!!), they work you hard but in a way that doesn’t make you worry about your safety or belittle you if you get it wrong (and you will!).
I’m chuffed I’ve finally given the sport a go at the ripe old age of 43, and that’s entirely down to this gym and the people there!

The coaches Mark and Vini, have created an incredible place to train. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, and the level of teaching is fantastic. A lot of thought goes into the structure of the classes and this shows in the development of the people who train! If you're a beginner looking start out then don't put it off!

That’s definitely the best place you’ll find in Peterborough to start your Brazilian jiu jitsu journey or even come back training. The coaches are doing a great job with beginners and advanced classes. Also all the team is very friendly and always there to cheer you up and help you. Couldn’t ask for a better gym to be part of.

Vini is my personal friend and I know how much effort he put into and Marc is an amazing guy and a excellent coach. If you are looking to training in a place with a good environment the thrive Jiu Jitsu is definitely a great place to go.

I joined Thrive Jiu Jitsu when it first opened a couple of months ago & I’ve enjoyed every minute of training there. I have some experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at other clubs & Thrive is definitely the best club I’ve trained at. The club is run by two very high level & knowledgable black belts who share their vast experience with us every class. Would highly recommend them & Thrive Jiu Jitsu to anyone who’s interested in training in the Peterborough area.

I joined Thrive Jiu Jitsu Academy in Peterborough when it opened a couple of months ago and can't say enough good things about it. Both black belt coaches are excellent and have very different styles of BJJ to each other meaning one of them is always ready to offer advice/help with the many Jiu Jitsu problems you will experience. Questions are encouraged and the students are never made to feel like they have asked a "stupid" question. I have previously trained at other gyms and can honestly say that the improvements I have made at Thrive far exceed anything I have experienced and I can't wait to continue my journey with this team. Everybody at the club is very friendly and positive always pushing others to succeed in whatever they aim to gain from the sport. I started this martial art for fitness and to learn something new over 16 months ago, after losing 20kg and making a load of new friends I can safely say that I have picked up a hobby for life. Whether you're looking at getting into the sport or have previously trained elsewhere and not enjoyed it, starting up with Thrive will be a decision you don't regret!

Mark is the only coach in Peterborough to be a BJJ and a Judo black belt and this brings on a whole new level to your jujitsu game. Love the amount of stand up we do daily as warm ups, drills and during rolling.Mat area is huge, clean and has enough room for loads of people to roll from standing at the same time.
Showers on site for after sessions if you need them. Car park is free.
Weekend open mats are amazing. Both black belts are at every session and keen to help you with troubleshooting and improving your game and they roll with you giving feedback! Other higher belts are always there to help & give advice.
Thanks Mark & Vine for providing such a nice environment for learning. OSS.

I have known and trained Brazilian jiu jitsu with Mark for many years. He’s very welcoming to beginners and is happy to invest his time to get you where you want to be in your martial arts journey. It doesn’t matter if you are a hobbyist or serious competitor, you’ll be welcomed in and will have assistance in getting you to where you want to be. In short, it’s the most welcoming BJJ school I’ve found in Peterborough.
