Reviews of National Marine Aquarium
G.
National marine aquarium is great for a few hours. Well set out and a lot of exhibits for children and adults. For some reason I was allowed to convert a normal ticket to a years ticket for free. A nice surprise. You won’t find anything else quite like this in the UK if you are into sea creatures
S. H.
Had a great time here. Quite busy, 12-3 on a Saturday. Very good wheelchair access.
Spent ages just watching the huge tanks, better than TV! Staff all very helpful.
A. R.
Really fun place to visit. Great for adults and kids. There were a few areas that could have done with a bit more info. Lots to see and do, even a boat wreck to see with the sharks!
Only negative was the cafe, food looked past it’s best, with a very limited menu so we ate elsewhere.
c.
We really enjoyed our afternoon. The main tank was amazing and had so many different viewing areas. The rest of the tanks/exibits were slightly underwhelming - but the kids loved them nonetheless.
The cost was slightly higher than I would expect - but they offer a FREE return within 12 months. We will certainly come back in the next year making it really good value!
K. T.
We LOVE this place; we loved to Devon 12 months ago and this Aquarium has quick become a favourite for my 1 & 3 year olds - they will happily sit and watch the huge tanks waiting for passing turtles, sharks and rays! It’s a fab day out.
J. D.
This is great for a few hours at most. The main tank is a great spectacle. The smaller tanks just seem a little underwhelming in comparison. Definitely worth it if you are going through or near Plymouth.
T. H.
Fantastic aquarium! Us and our 2 year old thoroughly enjoyed it, not too much walking around and lots to see. The big tanks were lovely to look at and sealife was very diverse. Definitely would come back again if we were in the area. Staff very friendly and the cafe food was good which is not always the case.
M. C.
We had a great time here. The tanks were breathtaking and the whole exhibition was well laid out. There are some very informative displays but the information presented is not overwhelming - the marine creatures are the main attraction.
c. E.
I do love looking at all different types of marine life from starfish to sharks and pufferfish to name but a few.
The aquarium was nice on the inside and was laid out well, it just seemed to be small. It was on multiple floors and some of the tanks are huge and look really nice.
But sadly when we got to the end the kids went "is that all" and we felt slightly deflated.
It does cost a lot to get in but you get the yearly pass, but if your not going to be able to use that then it works out a lot of money for 1 1/2 hours.
The talks were interesting and some areas had a lot of information which was good.
Its difficult because I liked it here seeing all the fish and different marine life but at the same time over £60 to get in eeks at me.
So if you like aquariums a great place to visit, if you want a day out go to a zoo. Like Dartmoor of Paignton for the same or less cost.
C. B.
I have to be honest I was disappointed. Apart from two large tanks which are apparently the largest in the UK, this was all there was to see. The rest of the aquarium was a lot of walking with not a lot else to see.
The ticket does give you free entry for the next 12 months but I don’t think I will be returning. Overall something that could possibly fill an hour of the day.
M. B.
There's something fish about this place and isn't it great.
With lots of fish, sharks and rays to view and see, there's plenty of information to read and learn.
They do lots of conservation locally around Plymouth sound.
Their main attractions are the walrus (airplane) shark tank and the Plymouth sound tank which is home to fish that can be found locally here off the coast of Plymouth.
There's an onsite café just before you start your journey around the aquarium (though for me I found the café a bit pricey), next to the café you can find the toilets with disabled and a baby changing area within the women's toilets. Also this is where you can find the lift.
Now every parents/carers need a little break, near the shark tank you can find a soft play area and there is a picnic area with sea views. (Cause of COVID the soft play area has closed, so you may want to check at the front desk if it's open)
There is plenty of parking nearby with a pay display at the end of the Barbican which is reasonably priced, a leveled car behind the aquarium opposite a restaurant called table table.
There's also a leveled car by the theatre royal that you can use too which is within the city centre, but you can take a nice short walk through the Barbican and across the bridge get here.
It can be a bit pricey in my opinion, but having a locals pass as well is worth it being able to go back time and time again having only had to pay once.
So I highly recommend diving in to the UK'S DEEPEST AQUARIUM.
Have a nice trip
B. h.
Fascinatling, especially very big aquarium with sharks and stingrays. So many different species of fish and sea creatures. Had a wonderful few hours. Definitely will go back in a future.
J. M.
I have always loved visiting aquariums. And this place is no exception. Plenty of different types of fish and creatures to see. With the lagest tank in the uk to have a look at and a yearly pass free with every ticket now, coming here is a no brainer. I visited on a rainy day on a Saturday at opening and it was very busy. and on a friday around 12 when it was sunny and it was dead quiet. both times I really enjoyed my visit as when it was busy they put live talks on which made it more fun. If u were to walk around the place on a quiet day you could be done in 30mins but taking your time and listening to the talks you can easily spend 3 to 4 hours here, with a onsite restaurant which isn't overpriced for the area and easy disabled access for everyone and a play area for the kids. I would recommend this a day out all ages can enjoy. There's always plenty of helpfull staff around if you have any questions about the animals. Next time I'm here I'm going to book the behind the scenes tour to what it's like above the waves. In review. Great day out 5 out of 5 will definitely be back again. And when it's quiet it's so relaxing just chilling watching the fish and the sharks go by.
C. L.
Great morning out seeing all the different fish and also managed to catch the shark feed/talk which was really interesting.
Number capped which was handy as it meant that you could sensibly wander round and see without having lots of children there.
Loved the fact that my toddler could collect a step at the start and use that was she wandered round to view the various tanks and exhibits.
Bought the yearly pass so we can enjoy again. Perfect for a rainy day and there will always be lots of things you can see and do each time.
D. P.
It's fairly expensive for a one off trip but with free returns for a year it can instead work out incredibly cheap.
My kids particularly love rays and there are a lot of them so that was great. Easy to get around, educational and very pretty.
A.
Not bad but a lot smaller than i thought it would be and looks like some parts are closed off with cones and pretty expensive for what you get to see, can easily be in and out in 25 minutes and not always easy to see in the main tanks as the glass is dirty. Been twice as i live local to get my moneys worth but doubt i'll go back again. Staff are nice and friendly though.
N. D.
I haven't visited here as a tourist - yet. We went for a wedding reception and I was blown away. The tanks and sea creatures we did see were fantastic and as a wedding venue it was incredible. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a visit to anyone, whether you have an interest in nature or not.
M. H.
WOW! What an amazing aquarium with so much information. We really enjoyed our visit. We were fortunate enough to catch a talk about Spaghetti the Octopus and see them being fed and played with. What a treat. There were so many opportunities to simply sit and take in the beauty of the different species living there. I honestly could have spent hours sitting there and just watching and observing. They have made it all easily accessible for children with stools available everywhere. We visited on Monday afternoon during term time and it wasn't too busy. The shop was very 'child focused' - I would have loved some socks/T-shirts in adults sizes etc. However, that didn't take away from the excellence of the venue itself.
V. P.
We haven't visited the Aquarium for years so visited today. It's lovely but slightly overpriced, but despite that we did enjoy ourselves today
A. B.
Great place to visit (although i went in free) seems a bit expensive otherwise. Half the price and i bet you'd get more than double the visits😉
J. R. D. S.
Excellent aquarium with large displays and lots of different animals to see. Great to take kids round and explore what is in the ocean. Balances education and fun aspects really well. You also can get free return for a year after purchasing your tickets which makes the cost worth it.
A. N.
Amazing value for money! My daughter rushed around excited and there was still about 50 minutes worth of entertainment and exhibits to see. They let us go round twice too!
Book early to avoid the ques we walked straight in at 10.20 ish but by 1.30 there was a huge que to get in.
D. B.
First time visiting with the family. Very child friendly. Will be returning in the future.
P. F.
A nice aquarium but does not live up to the expectations. Slated as the biggest aquarium in the UK but definitely did not seem like it. Not saying it was bad at all, just been to better. Think me and my partner got through it in like an hour / hour 30. Best to pre-book tickets. We had ticket from 11:30 and walked straight in, que when we left was very big. They do have some great fishes here and definitely loved that starfishes. Did seem pretty overcrowded though. Staff were great. Would recommend but go early.
L. M.
I went here with my boyfriend for the “Dine at the Aquarium” evening on the 22nd April. It was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced, the staff were wonderful and incredibly informative, they had amazing knowledge and walked around chatting to us about the different fish they have there. The food was excellent, I loved that they kept it exclusive so everyone had an amazing view of the fish tanks and it wasn’t overly busy. It meant it was a very intimate affair and everyone had space to explore. I will absolutely be doing it again at some point, it was the single best experience I have had- my partner agrees too. I cannot recommend it enough.
D. R.
Came here for wives birthday on 28/6/21.
Been to a few Aquariums in the past but this one was absolutely fantastic. Took the little one who is 5months and she was amazed by the fish and all the colours.
Great way to spend a few hours.
Would highly recommend.
M. C.
A good experience but it is a small Aquarium compared to other Marine Aquarium's in the country. It only revolves around a huge marine aquatic tank. It only took us around an hour to go around & for an enterance fee for around £57 for a family of 3 was a bit too high. Overall a good day.
B. T.
Interesting aquarium with a large variety of marine life. Great to see the sharks and rays
M. J.
Been many times but it's still a great place, got the free annual pass at no extra cost to the days entry, will be back with the kids
t. h.
Boasting the one of the largest tanks in the world this aquarium lacked a punch.
The price did not reflect the exhibitions. Sealife centers are more fulfilling. It does have a verity of rooms with different views but areas are crowded and windows are tinted. For being right on the sea front we would have expected more sealife.
The path is confusing as well not the beat layout. You exit and then have to re enter to go to cafe. Two sets of bathrooms are helpful at start and middle.
S. F.
Excellent place to take the kids is £20.50 entry per adult. But they then give you 12 months entry when you arrive for no extra charge we came from Cornwall but we'll definitely be coming back again. We went round the Aquarium twice during the time slot really generous with the time slots they give you..
S. w.
Amazing Aquarium and you get a free annual pass after you attend for the first time. This is my 2nd time coming and its still a great day out
F. A. K.
One of the best things in the UK. A bit pricey though ! The creatures have been kept with utmost care. Best part is the information given at each step of the tour. The glass wall to see the creatures is so cool ! There was a picnic area as well, which u didn't use. Will give arnd 1-1.5hrs if you want to walk and learn as well in detail. Souvenirs were okay and affordable. The only bad part is it gets over too quick :(
B. F.
Really enjoyed our family outing here. Even though it was very full it was still a great experience.
The kiddies plastic carry steps were a very thoughtful addition and made a parents visit more enjoyable as I didn't need to keep lifting my children up to every tank.
Now we have a year pass we will definitely be back.
E. T.
I enjoyed our visit and the staff were very friendly. The tanks are beautiful if you sit and watch the creatures go by.
However, it seems weird to have an aquarium there to show off the beautiful sea life but right next to the tanks there are signs about how to fish "sustainably" and then they're serving fish in the canteen?? Seems very weird to me and it's sad that this hasn't been picked up by anyone? You either love animals or you eat them, there's no in-between!
A. C.
Me and my girlfriend went to this aquarium, nice little trip with lots of fishes and the tank was massive!! Definitely would again
P. E.
Amazing place for the whole family. A mix of huge tanks and smaller display tanks for smaller denizens. Easy, modern access, spacious and well set up. Helpful, informative staff. Located in the historic Barbican/Sutton Harbour area. Recommended!
F. S.
An amazing day out with my daughter and granddaughter. The first day trip out since before the pandemic. So much to see and an added bonus were the return tickets which we can use within the year.
M. J.
Fantastic aquarium, lovely staff, got to hear a talk about sharks sting ray and Friday the turtle, we really enjoy every visit
P. W.
The National Marine Aquarium is a must see for families on holiday in the local area. We travelled from St Austell in the car for over an hour to visit. The Aquarium is very clean with lots of species of fish on display. There are three massive tanks, the best being the Atlantic Ocean tank with a sand tiger shark on display. We didn't use the onsite cafe but the toilet facilities were very clean and attended at regular intervals. Overall the price is about steep but it worth the trip if you are in the area. There is no car park facilities but there is a private car park close (2 minute walk).
A. H.
Awesome day at the NMA, our daughter loved it (as did we) and the whole experience was fabulous.
L. P.
Great place to visit, very interesting and informative. My only downside is that it doesn't feel exactly value for money. My ticket was £22 and even with stopping to look at everything I had found I'd walked around it all after just over an hour
T. B.
The NMA is aways a great visit. Love the massive fish and shark tanks. And the little displays fascinating.
Always friendly and helpful staff.
The return pass keeps us coming back, even though its an hour each way for us. :-)
E. J. K.
Good, nice experience. Staffs are very friendly.
S.
Nice place with friendly and informative staff. Lot's of marine life, very educational and visually appealing. However, there were many families with kids there that made social distancing difficult and created lots of noise.
M. K.
We visited recently and were disappointed. We last visited 5 years ago and nothing had changed, no new highlights to mention. My children are 10 and 8. Over reliance on written descriptions (words) on the walls, not enough interactive break-outs to help stimulate and educate. Entrance was £70 and £30 in the cafe. Done in under 3 hours. Not great value for money.
S. N.
It's OK
I have to be honest, I found that aside from a marvellous central, huge, aquarium in the centre, most of the exhibits were either painted information on the walls, rather dark tanks of something or other, or something you couod see in a large retail aquarium shop.
Your ticket does give you free visits for a year ... but I'd be in no rush at all to return.
I'm really sorry to write that, as I was immensely looking forward to the visit.
p. w.
Good value for more than one trip. The tickets are priced pretty reasonably considering you get a years pass for the price.
Inside there is loads of info to take in and plenty to see. Can you walk around it in and hour. Yeah, very possibly. Can you take longer to really take it all in, of course. The big tanks have seating areas like an auditorium so if you wanted and if there isn't any unruly children running around and jumping up and down, then you can sit and watch the fish for ages.
I'm sure there used to be tanks for touching stuff too but there didn't seem to be this time. Possibly that just at the moment with restrictions in place.
Definitely worth a visit.
C. C.
Great place to visit, clean and child friendly with lots of different aquariums and different coloured and shaped fish. We even saw a cow fish which I believe is the cutest thing. Nice little eating areas and lovely views. In their shop they have toys made out of recycled plastics found in the ocean which I think is a brilliant idea.
s. b.
Great time in the aquarium, we all loved it.
g. r.
Was a great place to visit staff really knowledgeable and helpful highly recommended even being short staffed they managed to get Santa in for a day to give me a hand. 🎅👍
R. H.
We had an absolutely fabulous visit as a family with 2 toddlers. Lots to engage all of us, the provision of portable steps for the little ones is a stroke of genius. I will definitely be visiting again soon.
C. B.
Great colourful and informative displays, walk through shark and stingray tunnel was great. Good value.for money, good one way system, clean tanks and friendly staff.
Just a shame some some people barge past others who have the politeness and patience to keep a distance and let their children run riot.
C. G.
The aquarium itself is great. Plenty of information for everyone of all ages to learn. I was a little dissapointed with some of the sizes of the tanks the marine life were in, especially the octopus one, very small.
The cafe on the other hand was absolutely awful. Hardly anything on the menu. Food was overcooked and very late coming out. Very overpriced. Certainly will not eat there again.
A. W.
Excellent place to visit with friendly staff and lots of great exciting under water fish. Plenty of things to keep youngsters occupied. A great place to visit and not only once.
G. C.
Fabulous aquarium with something for all ages
M.
It’s ok. Doesn’t rival other aquariums.
I think it banks too heavily on it’s one big tank.
There are no tunnels, not many viewing windows of the big tank, so it’s size it’s sort of meaningless.
Compared to somewhere like Brighton aquarium it’s lacking; not a big variety of fish and quite expensive.
They say to allow three hours, but honestly one is enough, as there really isn’t a huge amount to see.
I suggest avoiding the harbour car park, read reviews and you’ll see it’s not a good place to park, use the Queen Anne’s Battery car park, free for 2 hours which is more than enough.
K. B.
The direction signs are hopeless. We got lost and walked around in circles trying to find the way out. Staff members should perhaps wear something more easily recognisable. Otherwise not s bad aquarium.
B. D.
Absolutely fantastic place, lots of sea life to look at, they have three large exhibits that can be viewed from different angles, especially the main one with the turtles and sharks, has three different view points. If you are interested in the history side of things or like to read up on more info there is plenty of text and infographics around the walls too. Staff was also very friendly and if you get thirsty or hungry there is a small cafe inside serving some light grub.
A. T.
Wanted to visit National Marine Aquarium and was not disappointed. Fantastic place to learn about our Marine Environment and it was Great to see so many Children there as well, they loved it.
T. G.
It was a good experience, all of the fish swimming around and the large variety of different animals was fantastic. However, it is rather pricey at £75 for a family ticket. It was over in about 30 minutes. However, they do offer a year pass (not too sure how much that is).
S. H.
Great few hours out with lots to see. Lovely clean aquariums and the main exhibit is the largest tank in the UK, well worth a visit.
Good social distancing guidlines in place and currently a one-way-system to assist with this.
Clean, tidy and a great day out.
A. L.
This really is a worth while visit for children and adults alike. Just make sure the Covid requirements are adhered to, and that the black and yellow tape on the floors are NOT breeched. There is a wealth of information all around the Aquarium, and is worth absorbing. A 'one way' system is in force, and washing your hands BEFORE ENTRY is desired. Plus there are plenty of hand gel facilities throughout. The views of the Barbican from the cafe area are outstanding. The staff are polite, friendly and available to answer questions. It is a brilliant visit with a wide wealth of exhibits to catch your eye. Try not to be put off by the prices of entry. You can stay as long as you desire and even go around again if you wish. There is lift facility available for families with children in buggies. Just remember when taking photographs. TURN YOUR FLASH OFF ON ALL CAMERA TYPES. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO EXCUSES.
C. O.
Myself and my partner went, after hearing it was the biggest aquarium - I'm a tropical fish keeper myself, so I did dream big (I've also been to many aquariums around the country/World so had a lot to live up to). I believe the title, is due to the tank sizes they have in there, not the size of the aquarium as a whole. We didn't realise how short the walk around was, so raced through it thinking we had lots to see - not the case. We couldn't go back around, due to new restrictions, so felt a bit underwhelming. My tip for you - take your time, enjoy every little section so you don't feel disappointed. I would recommend for the rainy days, perfect for families and young children. The location the aquarium is in, is beautiful. Recommended seafood restaurant is next door too.
L. L.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Good value for money and interesting enough for teenagers and adults alike.
A. S.
Absolutely loved it. Been to a few Aquariums over the years and this is the best yet. Variety and quality of exhibits make the entrance fee well worth the price especially when you consider much smaller places are charging an almost identical entrance fee. I'd wholly recommend a visit.
L. W.
The National Marine Aquarium caters for all. I'm not sure about the disabled toilets but other than that it is an ideal place for anyone. There are lifts to each floor so you'll have no problem getting around. We enjoyed 80% of the aquarium then had a liv6ely cookie and cup of tea in the cafe, which is quiet pleasant, and then finished off the mast 20%. There a staff dotted around that love there job and are very insightful. We spoke to 3 different people and they knew a lot about the marine life and the specific names of each fish. You also get a year pass FREE with your entry. My children also enjoyed it 😂.
There is no parking but lots of areas to park within 2 minutes of the aquarium. I paid £4 for 4 hours. Which was just enough time. Minutes spare once we got back to the car.
A. C.
Lovely day out, I would say more for kids. We went with friends and a 2 year old who thoroughly enjoyed it. The education part is second to none. Some of the displays are a bit tired but the fish all seem really healthy and you get great views from the different tanks!
M. J.
Amazing aquarium with a fantastic range of underwater creatures. The large tank is incredible and I loved how you get different views of it. From a COVID perspective it was well thought out and the one way system worked well. Staff greeted us upon arrival and clearly explained the changes. We spent just short of 3 hours there and felt like we'd done it all thoroughly so be sure to combine it with something else if you want to make a day of it.
A. L.
It's not a bad aquarium, with lots of fish and sea animals on display. The children will be very interested.
Next to the aquarium is a very tasty fish restaurant :)
S. F.
Wind yourself around the largest fish tank. Stand under and over the fish. Lots of places to take photos including a mer cave. To much to see and do in one go. You can get a years free ticket for the same price as day entry. Fully disabled friendly with lots of toilets but no changing rooms. Would like to see more seating in exhibit areas as there's lots to read but no where to sit in between. You can sit at lots of places and watch the fish although children like to stand and bang on the glass right in front of where you sit. It wasn't nice watching a fish chomping on another because it was dying. Nature I know but not what you expect from an aquarium. Loved our day out. Great place to take kids as there's lots for them to do and see.
S. D.
I loved the way the fish were exhibited, the way information was presented and the staff were friendly and helpful. The temperature was comfortable and it wasn't overcrowded meaning it was possible to get up close to the glass, get a good look at the dish and take photos without people getting in the way. Gift shop has a large variety of gifts at a wide range of prices, also received a 12 month free pass.
S. T.
A fun day out for family members of all ages. We went during the Easter weekend, which was really busy, but we still managed to go round and see everything without too much trouble. Some of the displays were closed and there's a new display being built - I look forward to seeing the end results.
It's great that the tickets allow you to return again as many times as you like during the year too!
L. V.
Great place for all the family to enjoy. Many different species and lots of information to learn about. Loved the walk through with the stingrays overhead and underfoot, as well as the sharks too. Kids loved it :)
R. G.
Great aquarium, fun for all ages. Beautifully kept displays and enclosures.
Great walk through tanks and information for all the species.
Cafe has a nice selection of food, and choices for little ones to eat (make your own lunch bag).
There is a small soft play, at an extra charge.
There is a designated carpark for the aquarium, also at an extra charge (extremely busy in the school holidays).
The location is great and easy to walk into town and along the quay (even a swing bridge!)
E. H.
Very expensive but a nice place to take the kids. The big aquarium is amazing 🐠. Parking is not on site but is only a short walk away. It is not an all day trip.... We were done in 2.5 hours Inc lunch. We got a free annual return pass for adding gift aid. Nice and reasonably priced food in the food hall.
A. H.
Been to the aquarium a few times now, always a good day out for the whole family, reasonably priced especially considering that you get free return entry within 12 months. Loads to see for the kids, cafe is nice food and not too expensive, queues during the holidays can be quite long, but once you get in there is enough space to see everything.
M. L. U.
Best venue! I worked as an in tank mermaid entertainer here for the Mother's Ruin 1751 gin festival this weekend. The event was fabulous & the staff were great. It goes without saying, the setting is stunning! 🧜♀️🤩😍
C. V.
Amazing showcase of marine life from our local waters and beyond. Three giant tanks and lots of little ones. Fun and educational for all ages, doesn't take long to go around for the price though. I'd recommend just sitting and watching the big tanks for as long as you can. Some interesting toys in the gift shop.
O.
Excellent aquarium with some of the biggest tanks! Loved the Atlantic Ocean exhibit 😍👏 Visited 1 time in July 2020 with good social distancing measures which were being kept! Well done NMA 👏👏👏👏👏
L. C.
Such a beautiful place to visit. I can go there multiple times
There are no of different sea creatures.
They feed sharks on Monday.. go have a look at it.
Well maintained. Have cafeteria inside it. One can buy family ticket as well.
You can take a look at harbour at the entrance and peaceful seafood restaurant outside.
B. W.
Every time we go we have a lovely time and the kids love it. There's lots to see and you can spend a lovely day here as a family. There's a soft play area so you can enjoy a tea and cake whilst the kids play. We keep going back as it's so enjoyable.
A. M.
Fantastic day out with great tanks great facilities and brilliant if you can use the year pass which is the same price of admission as if you were non locals which is a shame as I do think they should lower the price for non locals who can't take advantage of this offer or maybe at least give a late entry charge.
They also have a lovely soft play with an additional charge but not too expensive especially if you can come back for free throughout the year. Plenty of variety of fish and a lovely layout of the tanks.
K. B.
Had a fantastic day here. Could spend ages just watching the sharks alone. Really friendly and helpful staff. All eager to chat answer any of your question. Various feeding times and talks through out the day. Managed to catch the octopus feeding time and see the enrichment they use to make it more interesting for them. Only problem we had was to get the free pass to come back again you had to bring your own printed passport photo which could be quite difficult to do whilst on holiday. Other than that the place was amazing. Highly recommended!!
M. B. B.
We have been before but never fail to be impressed. :) The octopuses were the star of the day for us with both of them being out and interacting with the staff. There were a few bits closed off as it was off season which was disappointing but did not really detract from the experience. As part of our ticket we were given a pass so we can return in the next year. We will definitely be coming back :) It is so informative and packed with ways to help the environment.
f. c.
Great visit seemed a bit too busy in places at the start but as you went around less crowded. Really enjoyed the shark and ready tanks.

This is a very interesting and well laid out centre. A massive selection of marine animals. Through the day there are feeding by divers and a lot of informative talks from the stsff at various main display tanks. It's a good few quid to get in but gives you unlimited visits for a year. The car park next to it is odd in that you have to pre-pay for an amount of time. We maxed it out. Brilliant day out at this massive marine aquarium. Fantastic staff that are incredible and very knowledgeable. We will return again before our year ticket expires.
B. B.
Very cute aquarium. Great learning environment for children with lots of information scattered around. Has a small area for events as well, but the space is definitely better suited to normal aquarium activities.
Nice opportunity for university Marine Biology students to get work experience. A massive shame that the bridge near it is closed since otherwise the aquarium would get more visitors. This isn't the aquarium's fault though.
C. J.
Very large place and takes a while to get around which is great. You start on the top floor and work your way down. There are staff always near to answer any questions. There are also many feeding sessions for the animals for you to see and commentary by the staff to give you an insight to the animals. Very big room half way through to stop for lunch while looking into a HUGE tank so a nice view while eating. I highly recommend you visit
H. C.
We had a really great time! It was such an educational and fun experience. Highlight of the day was trying (badly) to complete the origami steps around the aquarium. Would recommend to anyone for a day out in Plymouth :)
L. P.
Amazing place filled with sea animals and creatures. Learnt a lot from all of the facts and information on the walls. Helpful, friendly and informative staff. Really enjoyed it.
P. P.
Absolutely fantastic, I still can't believe the size of the tanks or the fish, a must if you visit Plymouth.
J. W.
It has some great viewing windows. It took about 2 hours to get around, this included stopping for a while at the big viewing windows. It is expensive to get in but your ticket will get you in as many times as you like for a year.
r. j.
it good as you get up close to lots of different types of fish. there are windows under your feet above your head as well as on the sides. the only down side is it is quite expensive for the amount of time you are there. we were only in there for about 2hrs.
D. W.
Amazing Aquarium Perfect For A Family Day Out But Also Its An Amazing Place To Visit Without Children Loads Of Facts On The Walls And The Staff Were Brilliant They Were More Than Happy To Answer Any Questions We Had!! Can't Wait To Visit Again! Also Definitely Worth The Money As You Get A Free Pass To Return As Much As You Like For The Year!!
D. T.
Fantastic place to take your children or even go without them! We absolutely love this aquarium and have been several times. A brilliant day out
R. L.
This place is deceivingly large. Make sure you give yourself 2 hours to wonder round. Once you find the main fish tank you'll want to sit there's all day listening to the whale song.
Z.
Me and my son enjoyed this acurium very much very knowledgeable, friendly staff. Lots of activities and reasonable priced
I. S.
There were fish and jellyfish and lobsters and crabs and a cool octopus. Sadly couldn't find the seahorses. It's quite reasonably priced and they seemed to have one central tank which had different ways of viewing it. I liked that you can lay down under the curved tank and watch the sharks, rays, fish and a turtle swim around you.
A. C.
Due to my love of nature I thought I would head down and check out the National Aquarium whilst I was in Plymouth. I thought the entry was a bit pricey (Approx 16 pounds). However, this included free entry if you went back within a year and ½ price admission at the Dartmoor zoo (Approx 14 pounds). The Aquarium takes 1-2 hours to move through and has some fantastic features, these include:
- Education zone and open shallow pools
- Great Barrier Reef section
- 3 big tanks with sitting areas (Auditorium style)
- Tunnel with glass floor, walls and ceiling
- Excellent range of aquatic species and great tank setups
All in all I thought that the Aquarium was quite good and it was very popular with children who all seemed to be having a fantastic time. There was enough space and variety that you could enjoy the tanks yourself and not be overcrowded, the Auditorium style seating also allowed an opportunity to seat in a fairly quiet space and just watch the fish swimming around which I found very peaceful.
Ł. M.
Overrated attraction of South Devon. Very expensive. Average value for money. I would not come back definitely. Ok they have massive water tank, probably biggest in UK but really this is only one advantage of this place. Spacious and clean with nearby parking. That's all. Oh, there is cramped play area within the premises but thay wanted to charge me additional £2.50 on top what I have already paid so we resigned. Needs more animals diversity!
J. M.
Very good much better than London aquarium. Cafe shuts at 3pm slightly annoying. Very good gift shop where they actually have their own brand on gifts something that English attractions are very poor on. This is a charity conservation aquarium so plenty for parents to learn as well as children.. I. E. Don't eat fresh tuna.
m. w.
Smaller then I expected but there plenty of different fish to see, I huge range of star fish and rays, a bit pricey for the amount of time it takes to get around only need around 2 hours. Coffee shop is a good price for a attraction. Please note that the bridge is close so takes a little longer to walk around to the entrance
M. O.
Love coming here with my son, and most of the aquarium is good. What I would stay away from is the cafe. Poor tasting food, and today they have charged me a £1 to have chips in a dish and not on my plate so I can share them with my son. It is also poorly stocked. But if you plan is to come here see the fish and go somewhere else to eat then it is a great place to come.
J. B.
Great for all ages. Plenty to see & do, with many new touches. The staff are always so well informed & happy to help. Cafe also good & reasonably priced .
S. !.
Couldn't ask for a better day out, I love it. The staff are always very polite and they answer any questions you have to the best of their knowledge, the children would love it here and won't stop talking about it, very educational. I learn something new each time I go.
L. G.
Lovely afternoon with daughter and family. Our 11 month old granddaughter loved the Aquarium so much. We always do. I left my scarf upstairs on a bench and the staff were very kind and helpful at closing time. Thank you. Great coffees and cake as well.
C. T.
Love this place, one of the best aquariums I've been to. Tickets include entry for a year. Some very impressive exhibits in here, and it's full of educational goodness! Plenty for the kids to do. Took us about 2 hours to get around and see everything. Very friendly staff. Would recommend this place to anyone.
L.
It's great for children. There wasn't any sea horse. Also aquarium underwater tunnel would be good.
T. G.
Had some time to myself so decided to go to the Aquarium it was nice & quite as it just opened so had plently of time to see all the fish with no kids running around.
I will bring both of my kid's next time
J. T.
Had a great time, the entry cones with a year long membership so I'll definitely be going back.
J. P.
Great day out kids loved it I loved it. It flowed nicely. Worth the visit. Also helps to preserve and invest in our oceans and aquatic life.
d. m.
Really good, our 1 year old girl loved it. Better than the sea life centres we have visited across the country. The Atlantic tank was incredible.
S.
Waited in line for a very long time, definitely recommend buying tickets online as you get to skip the general line. The aquarium was good, however I do think it's hyped up to be way more than it is - I was expecting a lot more to be honest. It was incredibly busy on a cloudy morning and it was hard to look at any of the exhibits because there was just way too many people.
B. R.
Always a fantastic day here.
Suitable for children and adults of all ages.
Clean and tidy even though it was very busy.
There is so much to do and see here.
Well worth a visit.
E. H.
Reasonably priced and a great way to spend the day, especially if the weather outside isn't great.
Really enjoyed the 360° tunnel and seeing the rays and turtles swimming around
K. T.
Fantastic family day out - huge tanks to occupy & fascinate young minds. A guilt free trip as your money goes to helping protect the ocean. Great value for money as your ticket gives you a free annual pass included. Cafe has fantastic view of Plymouth harbour. Baby changing facilities & plenty of places to sit.
O. T.
It was not what I expected for the price . Not bad at all but it also didn't take long for my friend and I to walk through it.
E. R.
Nice place. There is plenty to do here but it does cost an arm and a leg to get in here. The talks are very interesting and are also short so I definitely recommend going to see one. However, make sure to get here early as it gets increasingly busy by the hour.
E. D.
Definitely a great place to bring young children around the ages of 4-9. Though still an educational experience for older audiences there were many young children and a lot of the interactive experiences are aimed at a younger demographic. In my opinion it was too expensive but for those looking to entertain children for a day I would recommend it. The food is adequate but the menu is moderately expensive but tastes alright, however there isn't much seating.
-.
Great few hours out with the kids. All I can say is take your time! It can be rushed and is shorter than youd imagine! Great fun and a great cause!
R. M.
Really good day out for all the family with a wide range of different aquatic species on display. There is also a cafe and shop to compliment your day.
One slight down side which won't be noticed by new visitors is the withdrawal of the play area, which was a welcome addition and has not been replaced since being removed. 5* once play is re- installed.
Free year return passes were available when we last visited and is well worth enquiring about.
A. F.
This is the best aquarium in the UK! Biggest tanks with sharks and string Ray's! Great for a family day out and parking near by at the harbour multi story.
S. C.
Had an amazing time here staff are very knowledgeable and lots to see.
G. H.
An absolutely magical experience for any child or adult that loves to dive into the many mysteries that the ocean and its marine life has to offer. It lends to the imagination legend's of merfolk and stories of the laviathon let alone stimulating thoughts of the very real wonders of nature. However, the only wonder that I wish were not real was the cost for one instance of a visit. The upside of the cost is that it contributes to the conservation of our precious and delapidating marine life and you do get to visit again many times for 12 months for free if you are a local.
V. K.
The small colourful fish, the big fish, the jellyfish, the sharks, the Ray's the giant turtle everything was so mesmerizing. The octopuses were sleeping when I visited. I do wish they had more seahorses and maybe some squid.
A. C.
Fantastic way to lose a few hours in Plymouth. You can either race around and do it in an hour or take your time reading everything and it be 2-3 hours. Lots to learn and a good price. Would happily visit again.
M. M.
Brilliant day out. Pay once and then get an annual pass, amazing value for money. Car park nearby is fair price too.
B. K.
Awesome staff, awesome creatures, very affordable (especially if you ask for an annual ticket). Staff will answer any questions you have, there are shows for young children too.
S. B.
Sadly spaghetti was still in a tank far too small for her brain capacity. I have a gorgeous photo where it looks like she is signing me a heart, shortly after the photo she banged herself into the rocks and I felt, due to her growth since I last saw her, that once again she needed a much more enriching environment than just a tiny tank in a wall connected to a tiny tank in a wall. There is such little appreciation for this creature that I believe would thrive in a much bigger tank and with seats it would be so entertaining to watch. Letting her thrive in a big tank would be much more fascinating. Please do this for the wellbeing of the octopus
C. R.
Absolutely Brilliant day out for any family I could of stayed there all day 😁🤘
L. S.
Loved our trip and so did my little girl. So many fish. We loved sitting watching then swim passed and over us
R. F.
Lovely morning trip out with the family. You can’t spend all day here. The big tanks were amazing and it’s nice to see genuinely large fish including sharks and impressive rays. The staff were all very friendly and the talk/feeding session was really great. Cafe was nice and food was really good. Toilets were clean
D. B.
Fantastic afternoon for the kids and I thoroughly enjoyed it too. Viewing windows are amazing especially the overhead ones. Kids were amazed by seeing the sharks swim so close.
D. K.
Absolutly amazing place to visit !! Kids thoroughly enjoyed it. Spent the whole day and not bored once. Highly recommend a visit. Will certainly return in the future
H. B.
My 2 year old loves it here. We all do! So much to see and do. A lovely soft play area too. It's great value for money as you get free admission for the year after you visit for the first time (and half price to Dartmoor zoo). Only downside is that the parking near the aquarium is so expensive and run down.
R. B.
Came on a Saturday during halfterm and it was hectic. Heaps of information and very knowledgable staff though. Complimentary annual passes as well when you purchase tickets.
The only disappointing thing was that I saw quite a few visitors here littering and leaving their rubbish on the ground and around information displays. Really upsetting behaviour especially when its coming from full grown adults.
H. B.
Brilliant place to go and visit, so many talks and shows and helpful staff around to find out more. Car park placed behind which is great and a good price too. Its set in a beautiful quay side with so much to do around. Highly recommend.
K. B.
We go regularly when we visit Plymouth, there's so much to see and our two young children love it. Toddlers can easily walk round although I found that reigns were I good idea to stop them running off in excitement to the next section. Buggy friendly on the way round but there's only 1 little lift at to take you to the starting point so important to bare that in mind when visiting during busy periods such as half term and the summer. We didn't get to listen to any talks in our most recent visit but they were feeding the starfish when we arrived which was fascinating. There's a cafe and plenty of places to sit and have a little munch if want to take a break. Toilets as dotted throughout the different sections as well as the ones in the cafe (the cafe has baby changing facilities available).
Please bare in mind that the footbridge is currently closed due to a fault which PCC and Sutton harbour are in dispute about who should fix so could be out of action for the long term. However there is a nice walk along the harbour which takes approx 20mins (children depending) into the Barbican which is worth visiting. On a nice day it's a really pleasant walk.
r. p.
Was really nice full of great information lovely to see so many fish I didn't know kids really enjoyed it
M. O.
Amazing views for the ocean life, various species, lovely place for a day out with family/friends ❤️
T. C.
Great way to spend a few hours with the kids, or your parents/grandparents. Take as long as you like to go round and learn a lot!
K. K.
Great day out! Nice sized aquarium with a vast variety of things to look at. Also a great cafe with a variety of hot and cold food available. We managed to catch the dive show where the presenter was great and very enthusiastic. I would like to see a bit more marine fish as this is my personal passion but they still had a good selection of clowns, puffers, lionfish and more to look at! Oh and the best bit, you pay once and can come back for a whole year!!
l. p.
Great place 👍 Great value for more then one trip .We got a year pass now.
K. R.
Great aquarium. We got in half price after visiting dartmoor zoo too. All the tanks are clean and well presented. Big variety of fish. Would have liked to see more turtles though.
H. T.
Amazing place to visit for my birthday weekend, can't wait to go back and learn about marine life and so much more ❤❤😊😊
A. C. (. F.
A great aquarium. Amazing fish + sea life. Over all a great place to take the kids.
S. “. f. G.
The biggest aquarium in the UK , beautiful large tanks ,loads of variety to look at ,very educational, free entry for a year pass, places to sit and eat your lunch ,also the cafe is good , pushchair friendly
N. S.
Good for kids. The staff were giving talks on the way round. Monday is good to go in the morning when they are feeding. Thought the tanks for the octopus and squid were a little small.
P. H.
Some of the exhibits are just stunning but there is an almost complete lack of information to explain what they are. Be aware also that the footbridge from the Barbican is currently closed so you will need to walk around the harbour or take another route.
C. C.
Lovely place to visit, huge tanks and saw the sharks being fed, could easily spend hours here looking at the different fish, enjoyed the experience. Only fault is that it was alot smaller than I imagined, still a good activity though and definitely worth the visit. Also paying for one admission gets you in for an entire year!
M. E.
The national marine aquarium is beautiful place to go especially if you want to take your children oh it's amazing you have to see it for yourself I've put some photos on so you should be able to sit highly highly recommend it it's so fun.
R. R.
If you are visiting, always mention the yearly pass, as this allows you to visit again within 12 months so the price you pay wont seem so much.
Worth a visit as there is alot to see and learn.
S. M.
Love this place, been coming regularly for 8 years and been several times before. Daughter loves it and always very excited.
M. “. A.
They have fish! And some interactive educational resources. Good for kids and people who like gazing at animals alike! £15 a student ticket, all year reentry, so it's alright. Café a bit pricey, expectably, but a good range of refreshments. Same with souvenirs.
T. N.
Nice very of different species! Super cheap entry with the option to have it as a yearly pass! The octopus feeding talk was amazingly eventful and fun! Such playful and curious creatures! And as always, you can find Nemo here hehe
E. B.
really fun day out - huge range of creatures and various tanks, lots of information around the building. cafe is a bit hit or miss though!
J. Y.
Omg..what a place..brilliant for all ages..places available just to sit and watch the fish...talks given, feeding times announced if you want to watch..friendly knowledgable staff..
s.
Good day out... kept 6 adults happy for hours. Plenty for the kids too.
B. H.
I do love fish and aquariums already but I managed to spend all day here, so if you're only mildly interested I'm sure you can easily lose a couple of hours here.
G. C.
We want to say a big thank you to marine ranger Chris! He told us so many great facts!
K.
A wonderful aquarium a great day out for all the family very good value and lots of fun. Check it out if your in the area so many fish to check out.
D. B.
The Aquarium is ok not as interesting as I was expecting . The Sea life centre at Weymouth I feel has more to offer .
J. T.
I’ve visited the aquarium many times over the years, always something to discover, the children I visit with also love it and have had yearly passes which is great on rainy days. Great way to introduce children to different projects about certain sea life. I highly recommend this aquarium, value for money, staff always friendly and helpful.
M.
Nice view all over the Harbour!
F. B.
Great for a day out with the family, some tanks had damaged glass making it hard to fully see the fish, however did not disappoint.
T. A.
Great place to spend a few hours with the kids in plymouth.. It is one of the biggest aquariums in the worldview if not the biggest.. There are too many information to learn inside and to many intresting things to see and learn about. They have the annual ticket for families which can make thigh visit every now and then very easy.
G. M.
Brillant day
Went on a quiet day kids could see everything and could moved about freely
Price excellent as we can go for a year on the one payment which is superb value
Staff very good parking near by also help with two small Children
Well sign posted from main route into plymouth
Highly recomend for a visit
C. M.
Absolutely loved this place, we spent an hour just in the curved glass wall room. There was plenty of room even though it was busy. Staff were always helpful and knowledgeable and lots of talks about the sea life going on to.
M. J.
Still haven’t been in a satisfying aquarium here in the UK. This one was okay but very crowded and despite having the deepest tank in the UK then it never felt super special to be there.
D. B.
I liked me very much, I would have seen more octopus, turtles and other different types of fish.
O. B.
If you're coming to Plymouth, you need to come here. This is the biggest aquarium in the UK with so many intriguing areas. There's 2 huge fish tanks you can watch like you're at a cinema, and spheres that jut into the water that allow you to feel immersed in the tank. All round good fun.
N.
Brilliant time and very educational for the kids, great talks available from the staff. Would recommend it!
T. B.
Awesome aquarium, plenty of space to see everything and the BIG tanks are just brilliant and you could easily spend a hour just watching the fish swim past. Well worth a visit and worth going out of your way for a visit.
Nice Cafe on site with lots of choice at a reasonable price.
J. R.
Our dive to the aquarium went swimmingly, it's a quick paddle from a reef of excellent fish and chip shops for lunch. The fish tanks have a wide array of fish, sharks, turtles and rays.
-.
A fantastic outing for all ages. The NMA staples the status of the ocean city of Plymouth and sits comfortably in the coastal environment.
It's an educational experience for the young and us adults, in Plymouth you can see an actual shark and vibrant sea life in motion, naturally glorious and enjoyable for all. Additionally there is a soft play area, gift shop and a café, a nice touch, even if they are overpriced.
The entry fee is somewhat steep, given the actual time span of the visit, with a year pass included upon paying for a single entry seeming to 'justify' the cost.
What makes this place starts with the marine life portrayed wonderfully by the staff and volunteers, all friendly, happy to help and very informative.
I shall be returning, given I now have an annual pass!
S. C.
Had Christmas party here and it was really good! Views are great, food was great and service great. Couldn't have asked for a better work Christmas party venue! Thanks
P. P.
Extremely well built! However, It seems that there were seahorses, sand tiger sharks and a Curled Octopus, but when I went there, I saw neither of them, the sand tiger shark was the whole reason why I came. Sadly, I'm going to give this four stars instead of 5.. Please comment some images of marine life and the sand tiger shark and sea horses if you came to the aquarium this year. If they're not there anymore, I completely understand. However, if that's the case, I wouldn't be that happy because that is fake advertisement. If it's just that I mistook a sand tiger shark for a lemon shark, then I will change my review to 5 starts, hopefully National Marine Aquarium could see this. Also here is a little photo of the sand tiger shark OR lemon shark. (If you can see, there is a shark swimming, PLEASE comment down below what is that shark)
L. H.
We had a lovely visit here. A couple of very large tanks with plenty of marine life to see. Some spectacular viewing areas, the curved glass window being my favourite. The staff were really engaged and friendly. Would definitely visit again.
G.
Amazing I always wanted dog be a marine biologist because of it now here I am as a ocean consvationist.
a. d.
This place is simply amazing, with different talks about the tanks that you can attend and extremely knowledgeable workers who are friendly and eager to answer all questions!
H. E. T.
Spendy at nearly £20 for an adult entry but some great exhibits inside. Some areas a bit dated but still enjoyed the visit.
A.
Great evening at a private function. Staff very professional and friendly. Bar drinks were very reasonable. Had a viewing of the aquarium, was fantastic seeing the fish in twilight surroundings.
C. B.
Brilliant time, not quite a full day out but so close to Plymouth city centre and the barbican you can easily make it a day trip
P. B.
Loved it! My baby boy was fascinated and we have been back again within a fortnight. Perfect for a rainy day
K. T.
Fantastic, worth going just to see the sharks and turtle in the biggest aquarium in the country, spent a good 4 hours here loads to see
E.
Must visit for Plymouth, best aquarium, wonderful. Sharks, fishes, turtles, creatures, everything.
C. W.
Enjoyable and educational day out with the family, great value for money with a year of entry included in the price!
P. R.
Best aquarium in England. Large variety of sea life creatures and large tanks that make you feel like you're swimming with the fishes :)
R. P.
Informative and friendly staff who are happy to provide detail on a kid friendly level about the aquarium and animals they have within it. Also helped with carrying a pushchair up the stairs without being asked.
Offer a locals pass which allows anyone with a PL postcode to return for free for the next year (unlimited)
T. F.
Nice aquarium, well worth a visit but not as big as I thought it would be considering its the biggest aquarium in the uk
D. H.
It is the perfect place to visit to relax and see some great fish. I go a couple of times a year and really enjoy it.
C. D. P.
Fantastic day out. Staff very friendly and helpful.
S. J.
A fantastic day out. Every member of staff from start to finish was so friendly and we learnt some really cool things about the different species as well as the individuals held here. You can tell all the staff are super passionate and know their stuff too!
The tanks themselves are amazing also, they look beautiful and some of the exhibits are especially mesmerising! Will 100% be returning soon!!
R. K.
Our granddaughter asked us to go with her and our great granddaughter and we were very pleased we did. I must admit the last time I visited was approximately 20 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised with the difference from all those years ago. I will definitely be taking my other grand children in the near future, as there is so much they can learn from the experience.
Well worth the visit.
M. D.
Great place to go! Doesn’t get boring! Perhaps if they lower prices then more people would go?
I get it’s popular, only if they have custom and the past few years? I hardly see anyone than what I did in the old days when it was heaving!
J. P. B.
Had a great time with the family. Amazing aquarium, very educational with a good variety of fish.
A. J.
Was awsome.. kids loved it i loved it will defo be coming again. Very polite staff and very helpfull and polite.. top job 👍
c. v.
It's a lovely day out for all the family. We'll worth the money. Only thing I would say was too pricey was the gift shop but that's normal
L. H.
Everyone loves an aquarium, this place is great for kids. Some huge tanks, sharks, rockpool area, soft play & a cafeteria. Hours of fun & parking close by
J. H.
Took our 3 month old who was mesmerized. Initial entry price seems a bit steep (£16.95 for adult) but this gives you a years worth of visiting so in reality not a bad price at all. Will definitely be back.
F. W.
We really enjoyed our visit here, we came with 3 of our children aged 3 - 11 years and they were fascinated the while way around. The free return for a year makes it a bargain too. We plan to return soon just the two of us so we can spend more time reading all of the educational boards.
P. W.
A relaxing day out unless its a school or bank holiday when it can be very busy and noisy. Lots of good opportunities for photos but make sure your flash is off. There is a cafe for a pit stop which also has a play area for younger children and if the weather is nice you could have a picnic outside with views of the harbour.
Be careful if parking in the nearby multi story car park as people have been fined even though they've paid for parking. Either take a photo of your parking ticket, keep it or pay by card so you have proof of payment.
M. H.
Nice aquarium. But nothing has changed for 20 years? Also fairly short visit.
M. S.
Every time we go to the national marine aquarium we see something different. Amazing place.
G. R.
Excellent day out, huge impressive tanks with many species, staff and volunteers massively knowledgeable. A must visit for anyone in Plymouth. Cafe was also very good. Don't forget to gift aid when you buy tickets as the aquarium is a charity and it doesn't cost you anything extra!
S. R.
Really enjoyed visiting with my 11 year old daughter. Much better than various Sealife places I've previously visited. Could spend all day in the big tank room watching the fish and the turtle.
S. G.
A little disappointed. Visited this place several years ago. Nothing expanded. Lots of exhibits closed.
L. G.
It was really good, my 2.5 year old grandson and I spent hours there. Lovely helpful staff in all parts.
m. m.
I read the reviews before visiting and the bad reviews are totally unjust this is a fantastic place to bring the family and the staff are knowledgeable and very helpful please don't take reviews as honest opinions this is value for money and we spent 3 hours in there
D. T.
Brilliant! Our 13 month old love it as it was really relaxing for all of us. Staff are lovely and really caring. Clean and tidy.
B. A.
Always love the Aquarium. Glad it has reopened. Annual return pass will be used a lot more this year. My daughter felt that A storm trooper outfit was the best thing to wear! 😂
M. H.
Great place to take the kids, staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
C. S.
This really is a fantastic aquarium. We all loved it here and have been several times over the last few years. Lots of fascinating things to see and all the information you'd ever want to know about all the species they have. Lots of things for the little ones to do also.
J. S.
Lots to see for all ages. Good facilities. Reasonably priced too. A good day out!
H. U.
Great and friendly staff, very knowledgeable and clearly very passionate. Very clean and easy to get around. The info signs are fun for all ages. It's a bit smaller than I had expected, only took us about 1.5h to get around everything at a leisurely pace.
J. S.
Loved it. Well worth a visit if in Plymouth and staff very knowledgeable
N. E.
We loved our trip to the aquarium and it was the perfect wet weather activity during our holiday. Make the most of the deal to visit Dartmoor Zoo half-price with an aquarium ticket receipt.
J. W.
National marine Aquarium!it's a special place to see!you see the most amazing fish!our fish are being more caught by over fishing and pouching!places like this marine aquarium as much as it seems cruel it's saving rare species of which wouldn't be around today The marine life research do amazing job. I would like to visit again as there's so much to see
m.
Absolutely amazing aquarium, friendly informative staff and some amazing tanks and fish. Deepest tank in the UK as well filled with massive sharks too!
C. R.
Nice displays of fish etc. Good information on all species. Bit overpriced but overheads must be high.
K. G.
Lovely aquarium. Good one way easy for social distancing.
A. P.
Expected a lot more especially since Plymouth aquarium is the national aquarium of the UK. Have some nice big tanks but been to better public aquariums which are also a lot cheaper to get into.
C. E.
Really nice place, good to enjoy a good few hours with the kids when rain stops play outside. Book online to get fast track entry to skip the main queue if busy. Takes 2 mins
S. B.
Quite cool. It's not expensive for what they offer; I suggest the 1-year membership.
Only downfall is that sound bouces off the hard surfaces. Therefore a visit with a lot of screaming children will leave you reaching for paracetamol as soon as you get home.

Absolutely amazing. Went last week and shocked about how beautiful it really was. I had a free entry as I am in an association for young marine biologists as that is what I want to do when I'm older. This place is very inspiring. Great variety of marine fish, corals and invertebrates. But I do want to say that this woman gave out wrong information to a bunch of people. Coral is an animal. It is not a plant and a rock so do not believe it. I have kept corals for years and believe me, it's just an animal. Anyways great experience would definitely go again!
T. P.
We had a nice day out in Plymouth and visited here.. it was good however there were less things to do than expected. Probably not worth the money but it was alright
M. Ś.
We visit the aquarium a few times a month. The year ticket is fantastic. My son loves coming here.
H. W.
Don't go in half term 😂. And I think we'd take a baby carrier next time, there are a lot of stairs and only small lifts. Quite confusing with directions as well, lots of dead ends and the lift buttons weren't clear. I'm not sure we saw it all but we gave up. The big tanks are great, unfortunately they had a talk on so the biggest tank area was rammed full.
Z. C. (.
Big aquarium
adult ticket price is 16.95 gbp
Great for family visit
S. R.
Lovely Aquarium. Plenty to see, the kids loved the sharks and the divers ! Staff were all very helpful, knowledgeable and great with the kids.
r. p.
Lovely aquarium but not worth the money cost £90 for us and 4 kids and we were there 90mins!
S. P.
Not really my thing, but the kids really enjoy it. Plenty of places for a stop and sit! Very expensive entry, but it does give you entry for a year. Not so useful if you're not local.
J. S.
Friendly and knowledgeable volunteers offered to answer any questions. They are amazing with children and make the place come alive. There are talks throughout the day. Sea life does not have to be brightly coloured to be fascinating.
M.
Restaurant available on entry. Plenty of fish to view. Overhead and underfoot aquariums and attendants on hand to explain things or answer questions
M. A.
The place gets better every time with do much to keep the kids interested and teach them at the same time.
D. C.
Second visit, didn't disappoint, my photos don't do it justice, so much to see 😊
R. S.
Lovely aquarium with lots to see and the cafe is top quality. They also have a great function room/bar area
S. T.
For a place that markets itself as the biggest in the UK this was a big disappointment. It only took us 40 minutes to go around and as the time allowed is 3 hours we were sure we missed something so went around again. We didn't miss anything. At least you get free admission if you go again within a year. To be honest though, I'm not sure we'll bother.
E.
Interesting, well kept and nice staff but way to crowded and not as much wildlife as we thought.
T. B.
Much better when we went this time. Last time q lot was closed, but all seemed to be open today (25th September) staff very friendly and willing to talk through the fish. Saw the shark show as well. Expensive but f you get the free year pass it's so worth it
H. A.
Best aquarium we have ever visited. Will def go back again.
A. E.
Amazing place to get close to some big fish and other sea creatures
M. E.
We had a great time at the National Marine Aquarium, huge aquarium tanks with a brilliant variety of fish, lovely staff, very informative and friendly, we attended 3 talks which were suitable for the whole family.
B. J.
Great place for the children! Loved seeing all the different fishes and learning about the oceans. Good food, if reasonably pricey. Good parking nearby and pretty easy to get to.
C. L.
Brilliant and relaxing place for a day out, especially if there's bad weather. I like to visit in the evenings, when there are less children about. They have done well to make us feel safe when entering, including booking time slots and having a one way system.
r. t.
A well laid out attraction with some cool fish to see. There are plenty of experts on hand for any questions. There is a lot of written information around (a little too much) to read if its a rainy day and indoors is your only option. Restaurant and outside picnic area amoung the facilities. Your ticket will allow a years entry if you choose.
D. P.
Very good for family 🙂. Food a bit expensive.
V. V.
Very soothing place. Possible to get a free membership for a year after paying once. The staff is friendly and there is quite a lot to see.
T. W.
Great afternoon went on a Sunday so wasn't busy... lovely to be able to take our time and stroll around will definitely go back.
P. A.
Big fish tanks, also can see divers in the tank. Only take 2 hours maximum time. Not worth you paying but you are supporting marine life preserver projects. Near by car park is very expensive.
D. F.
I was looking forward to visiting the aquarium so was a little dissapointed when my daughter and myself had covered everything in under an hour.
We did stop to read the inforamtion boards and study each tank for a good while. Bearing in mind the extrance cost I can only rate as 3 stars. If you are local though you can visit as many times as you like in a year after your initial entrance fee.
k. h.
Very nice, but I would have expected more for the price.
M. D.
Quite expensive - you get the tourist-taxing year-long ticket as standard, but it's the best part of 50 quid for a family, and. However, there's lots going on around the different themed locations they have set up, so as long as you get to see some of the 'shows', you'll get your money's worth.
D. M.
Kids loved it and not over crowded just going out through the shop with the kids money to expensive
T. K.
An amazing aquarium a bit expensive but worth the money.
S. H.
Love this aquarium, plenty of seating areas to sit back and watch the fish in these huge tanks
s. m.
Good day out. Friendly staff
H. E.
I was truly blown away by the information we were offered today, which offered me so much more depth of perspective on the incredible work undertaken by the NMA, than I had previously conceived from other visits.
Hearing of the exceptional ray breeding programme success during the shark talk and knowing that groundbreaking work is being achieved with the rays there is so inspiring and exciting.
The staff conversed with us all with such infectious enthusiasm and delight.
Their evidently ingrained knowledge and passion for marine life ignited the spark that changes an interesting visit into an illuminating experience.
Very reasonably priced annual membership.
S. M.
The shark's tank is amazing. The octopus was my favourite. Our kids loved all of it.
B. C.
Lots to see and do amazing place if you like fish
A. E.
Beautiful place, and they have a soft play area, love it here
M. H.
Great day out, ticket price allows you to go back for free for the year. Child and disability friendly. The screenshot was taken April 2019
C. S.
Simply Amazing Each Time!
I would strongly advise buying a year ticket if you live close to Plymouth. Our two girls love going to the aquarium and the talks really bring the fish and the NMA's conservation projects to life.
The staff are young and enthusiastic and this really helps our younh girls relate.
The only down side is a lack of parking. The Barbican carparks fully understand how long the average trip to the NMA takes so they have deleted the medium stay price from their tariff. Thus, you end up paying way more than you actually need.
C. M.
Best aquarium in all of the uk made so many memories here I love it
A. R.
We always enjoy the aquarium to see the fish and other marine animals
V. H.
Very big aquarium, activity for the little ones.and divers that dive in and feed the sharks ECT.
A. B.
Well laid out with the main tank hosting some beautiful marine wildlife. The tea was awful in the cafe because I believe UHT milk was used.
C. J.
Well displayed and set out, definitely worth a visit.
P. D.
Very interesting attraction to visit especially in bad weather
D. M.
Brilliant aquarium, on 3 levels. Easy access and good cafe
P. C.
Very beautiful aquarium, but it doesn’t take long to walk around. Perfect if you’re local or already visiting Plymouth.
J. B.
Really good. Lots to see. One minor pick would be that two of the amazing observation areas where people decide to pitch up and have a picnic or feed babies. The cafe is easy to get to and it’s a shame for other visitors especially in current times when you are supposed to maintain distance.
B. F.
Good place to spend a couple of hours. Paid full price and can come back free for the next year!
P. J.
Loved it, lots to see & do, wonderful tanks full of different fish/animals...well worth a look!
S. H.
A very good aquarium. Fun for all the family.
E. S.
A really good educational experience
C. P.
Great few hours with a baby who was fascinated by the fish.
Cafe could have been much cleaner and was disappointing to see it was a grubby and dirty area especially as we're still in covid.
Reason I've give 4* is purely down to the aquarium not the cafe and that hasn't given reflection at all as it wouldn't be fair to put a 1* for the aquarium because of the cafe.
The aquarium was not as big as others but it was quite nice.
Location is approximate 1/2 mile from city centre and car parking is 200m away £7.50 for 6hours.
City centre has changed massively for the better over the last 5 years, the Barbican is also a lovely place.
R. S.
It's ok overpriced entry for what it's worth not a huge aquarium
M. P.
Interesting place, specially for kids. In my opinion price is slightly to high.
M. C.
Great range of marine animals, accompanied by interesting facts. Was shorter than expected, but still feel like I got my money's worth!
D. F.
Unbelievably good day spent here, wasnt cheap but very well worth the entrance fee, the first area is fairly ordinary but the main aquariums are amazing!!
T. O.
Fantastic family day out, great local displays, great integration of current research and charity projects
L. E.
Absolutely brilliant day out with the family. Even the kids aged 11 and 14 loved it too. The underwater tunnel was fascinating.
Z. K.
Incredible place for children and adults, liked it a lot!
C. P.
It was an amazing place. It had lots of different types of fish as well as sharks, stingrays and turtles. Honestly it is a great place to go with the family or even just by your self. There is a cafe at the end where you can relax and have lunch after viewing all the different marine wildlife, as well as a nice little gift shop at the very end. Would recommend to anyone who has even the slightest interest in the sea or ocean. Would definitely go again.
N. H.
Excellent place! Saw the divers cleaning on of the tanks and feeding the sharks. Highly recommend if you like the ocean!
A. M.
It only takes about two hours to fully cover the aquarium but it’s worth going around a couple times as it’s just such a lovely place to be. The octopus was a real treat when we visited, and of course the sea turtle is just amazing.
E. P.

Very interesting place in Plymouth. If you are a student you pay 13.5 pounds for 1 year ticket!
B. O.
Great afternoon, made even better by the soft play area for kiddies where we were able to enjoy a cuppa!
Very helpful and friendly staff, will definitely go again.
E. L.
So much to learn about our oceans and so much to see here. I ever knew until today, that they have a picnic area with some benches and what looked like a play area. I hope they open it more often. Cafe is expensive, but the portions are generous and staff very helpful. We have a family member with food allergies and they did their utmost to ensure their safety. A lovely young lady just happened to be in the same areas as us every time we had questions she answered with enthusiasm. You have to book to visit, but a three hour block is plenty of time, even with a cafe visit.
A. N.
Loved my underwater experience. So busy and so many people visit. I want to do a VIP tour if I go again.
S. M. -.
Great place we enjoy the experience
T.
I've always enjoyed it but we went with or 7 months today for the first time and she loved it. We've been to the zoo and she wasn't bothered but loved watching the fishes, sharks and especially the rays
J. B.
Brilliant way to spend a Sunday. Great family time and really quite relaxing!
W. P.
So much to see and learn and can easily fill a day.
Very busy at peak times.
I saw more staff around talking about the displays this last visit.
L. A.
Great for kids! Also has in door soft play area which you pay an alloted time for, really interesting talks for families about the natural sealife
C. F.
A great place to take the little ones or even to go as an adult... Lots to see and learn. A lovely day out.
J. S.
Nice day trip here. The price is high for the hour or so we spent there. However the tickets came with a free year pass to return. This is a huge positive and makes the price much more appealing.
There is loads to look at and a great day out for the family.
The interactive stuff is really cool and the little one loves it.
A. F. (.
Lovely family visit
H. L.
We visited at 3:50pm on Sunday. It was very quiet and not busy. We were given information about some of the bigger fish by a helpful member of staff which was great. The only negative was that the bigger tank areas close at 4:30 (but the aquarium closes at 5pm) which doesn't give much time to enjoy the place.
D. I.
A great rainy day experience! I was particularly impressed with the conservation work that they do.
M. G.
Wow, can't believe we hadn't been here before... This place was out of this world, the variety, the inclusivity, the diversity and the displays were all excellent. We arrived with a wheelchair and made it round the whole place with no problem, were able to view every exhibit and every tank with no problem. The shark tank was awesome, with a huge curved glass wall it's like you're in the tank, with creatures passing with in in he's of you on the other side of the glass... We made it to most of the talks which are informative and help you to understand the fish better and why they do what they do.. Understanding more about the environment, coral reefs especially seems hugely important at the moment. Had a great time, loads of excellent photos and videos, with the 1 year return pass, we'll definitely be back! 😁
S. W.
Awesome place. Will be going back, so much to do and see. Great value.
K. M.
Very good kids enjoyed it very much!
P. K.
Great family day out, very interactive for the children and plenty for the adults to do, staff very informative.
M. J.
Excellent venue. Very educational but also captivating and thought provoking
R. M.
Visited with my daughter in Aug. COVID-19 measures are effective, and don't detract too much from what is an interesting visit. The 3 large tanks remain the highlight of the visit, which children allowing make for mesmerising viewing. The return with 12 months make the ticket price more bearable, but won't work for everyone. A good rainy day option.
C. F.
Great aquarium, but gift shop had an unfortunately limited selection of soft toys.
K. B.
Perfect for kids or any lover of sealife. Could be more to look at but reasonable for an hours look around. Loved the different species of sealife, my favourite being the jellyfish.
S. J.
We've got an annual pass, first time we've been back since it re opened, booked our slot thinking they'd only let so many people in, what a joke, if I wanted to be surrounded by that many people I'd go to a supermarket on a Saturday. On a personal note we love the place and my son enjoyed his morning.
F. a. C. B.
Had a fantastic day, great for all the family. We took two kids and their grandma and everyone enjoyed themselves. Even better we got out day out here for free by using our return within a year tickets. Covid protocols were clear, and generally well observed.
P.
We had a great day out. Neither cheap nor expensive. Yes, you could get around it pretty quickly, but we managed to drag it out past 3 hours by watching some of the talks. Staff were friendly and engaging and the kids were fascinated by the scale of some of the exhibits. It was busy, but it was a rainy day during the summer holidays. Whilst we're unlikely to take advantage of the free annual membership, I thought it was a great way for an attraction to provide a good local benefit.
P. H.
This was a return trip. With our 4 year old Granddaughter. We loved it and all the fish are very well kept and all look in fantastic condition. Thank you
J. R.
Amazing place, second visit and doesn't disappoint.
You could stay here watching the displays for a very long time.
Lots of effort placed by the staff to make your visit welcoming and full of facts.
If you have a baby with you really good facilities, baby change in both men's and women's toilets and microwave for your use in eating area.
R. P.
Lovely selection of marine life. Doesnt take long to go around and children under 3 need lifting to see a lot of the displays properly
N. H.
Good all round Aquarian I feel missing a walk through/ under the tanks exposition
A. D.
We always enjoy visiting.
Knowledgeable helpful staff. A family favourite day out.
You still have a lot to do sorting social distancing. Masks should be mandatory.
Don't just wait for government guidance, take some initiative please. I don't want to see you shut again.
N. A. T.
Nice , spacious place. Quite a few interesting species
F. W. (.
Great staff and loverly rooms for a wedding. If you are after something different then you found it.
H. H.
Informative, but starting to get a little dated. Needed more events to mix things up.
D. M.
Amazing place for good photos! Here are some of mine....
E. P.
I have mixed opinions. As the staff were very friendly and informative and there were many fish to see. The building is very good on all covid regulations. The sting Ray's were very impressive however we did not have much time to look at them.
There were many small fish but not many big, even in the large tanks there were lots of little fish. We were also given a 3 hour time slot which we found almost impossible to fill.
There were some good and bad things. If you are looking for small fish and to learn from information boards it is ok however if you are after bigger creatures, such as sharks then you will not find them.
I appreciate that it may not be the right environment for sharks and other creatures however it is overpriced for what is in there.
I have mixed feelings but I would lean more towards not going as my personal opinion.
L. C.
Really enjoyed it here as did the kids I took with me. Being so close to the sharks and turtle was particularly interesting.
T. B.
Nice big aquarium. Very interesting. My inky complaint was the time it took to enter the ticket area. Only 2 people serving and everyone upgrading to an annual pass. As a result of this everyone had to give their details and it took absolutely ages while it was freezing outside. Might be advisable to do the ticket upgrade at the end! I also don't think it's worth the full ticket price but at the same time I do understand its supporting them in the current situation. I was only holiday for the week so was happy to support local attractions.
A. W.
This was a fantastic experience. I was a bit sceptical reading some of the reviews but it is marvelously curated with helpful and knowleadgeable staff. I was with three teenagers and thought it would be the usual rushed experience but we spent nearly 2 hours going round. It is definitely good value for money and not something to miss if you are visiting Plymouth
S. H.
I love this place! lots of info to read if you're in the mood, or just stare at the beautiful aquariums. I find it a really relaxing place to spend a few hours. it's lovely seeing all the kids enjoying themselves too. great location, nice to have a walk around the harbourside too. the entry fee allows you to pop in and out which I think is brilliant.
I. S.
Went during the week, there was no queues and we were about to take our time. Our 7 month daughter loved it - really worth going
S.
Well laid out. Plenty of happy fish. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon.
N. W. (.
For the price it was disappointing. There's a few large tanks which are really good but the rest wasn't great.
When booking you're given a 3 hour time slot, either am or pm I believe. It's slow going getting in due to restrictions but that's fine. Even with two 3yr olds, were done inside of 90 minutes.
The majority of the tanks are very small for specific species but small kids simply can't see them as they're too high up which was a shame for us. The walk through ray/shark section was good but you need to move on quickly as you're required to queue.
Similarly, the large tanks with seating was good and the staff on hand were keen to talk about the fish on display which was really nice.
Due to the size of the building we were expecting a little more variety especially along the lines of octopuses, squid and sharks which were lacking but maybe this is the wrong sort of space for them.
Although the entrance system clearly helps stagger people and the place isn't packed, it quickly becomes difficult to avoid bunching and groups of people all trying to look at small attractions, obviously the majority of these things weren't build with distancing in mind and you're left to your own devices during the attraction.
Probably wouldn't visit again unless our little boy develops a keen interest in sea life.
L. W.
Amazing experience, our granddaughter loved it.x
J. R.
Absolutely brilliant. Great exhibits and really helpful, knowledgeable staff and volunteers.
N. N. S.
Simply the best day out rain or shine plymouth has to offer! Kids loved it
D. W.
Nice little day out good that you get free entry for a year. Don't walk to fast as it's not a huge place but there is plenty to see
R. T.
excellent and some attractive looking fish
R. J.
Such a great experience and definitely worth the money for the experience. 100% worth a vist
M. H.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time here worth the travel distance of 185 miles for my & the hubbys date day out . We was delighted to recive 12 months free passes with our admission fee for free & will deffinitly vist again within these 12 months very effective one way system in place hand sanatizer stations hand washing facilities in place.
N.
A wonderful day out for the whole family.
a. m.
Great experience lucky enough to see the sharks
C. P.
We enjoyed, as did the three year old we took, but you can only look at so many fish before you need to move on. I expect it costs a lot to maintain the tanks, but entry fee was a bit steep for possibly a two hour visit. Tanks are impressive: you can look up, down and all around😊
W. b.
So expensive for the hour or so we spent here, and no where near as big as we thought it was going to be.
The children enjoyed it, there is a soft play as well, but for £1.75 mid week for an hour and then £1.80 for a can of pop it’s a bit steep!
It does come with a pass for the year, but seeing as we were down on holiday and not likely to come back this was a bit wasted on us.
M. T.
Great attraction, especially if a rainy day and so near to the barbican for a potter.
C. R.
We love going here as a family. My son is entertained for hours watching all the fish. Ticket entry is a bit steep initially, but once you pay you get a pass for a whole year (except bank holidays). Handy for something to do in wet weather, of which we get a lot down here.
R. B.
Have been coming here since my 6 year old was tiny and he still loves it! The staff are engaging and knowledgeable and the kids love learning all about the ocean. Always a winner on a rainy day, especially if you have the annual pass :)
H. T. S.
Delightful place! Well worth the entry with informative yet child friendly talks throughout the day on a variety of topics. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable. You really feel like your money is being used well by the conservation and captivity teams. The cafe has nice food if a little pricey. Give yourself a lot of time if you want to see everything!
L.
Fantastic aquarium full of interesting tanks with exciting designs. There is always a host on hand full of enthusiasm and information to chat or answer any questions and helpful information on the walls.
There's also a cafe with beautiful views and your ticket provides membership for a year to return as many times as you like!
A. W.
An excellent day out with lots to do for young children, including a soft play area. He whole place is set up to allow you to sit and watch the fish for hours. The cafe on site even has menus on the walls!
C. K.
The aquarium itself is amazing the cafe in the soft play area do very yummy cakes, only slight suggestion would be to improve the cafe area with a wider selection of hot meals but im a fussy eater so i wont lower the rating for that. I had a great day out with my daughter.
J. H.
The idea is brilliant. The price of admission is high £50 2adults and a 5yr old. They allow far too many in at once making it practically impossible to enjoy the sea life as it's too noisy too busy kids cant get near the viewers to see anything. Too properly enjoy this place you'd be best going during the day whilst the school's are in.... this kind of defeats the object of being a good place for half a day out with the kids!
N. W.
Spectacular aquariums, our grandchildren love going here and it's the kind of place you could stay for hours just watching the fish and other creatures swim around in front, above and below you. There's lots to see with informative and interesting displays. The cafe is ok but does get busy. I think the nearby car-parking is expensive. My tip is to pay by phone and buy 3 hours which you can then extend if you need more time.
S. L.
The aquarium had 1 great tank, it had a couple sharks and a big turtle, some smaller fish swimming around with them. However, the other tanks were quite average with nothing special in them.
Not a bad hour out, but overall nowhere near worth the money.
G. H.
The fish where really cute. Then staff had lots of information about the animals and where happy to answer questions.
G. M.
Great for entertaining kids on a rainy day the tanks are full of different species of fish and there are lots of facts to keep young minds interested. The volunteers are friendly and there is colouring available. The soft play is quite small and aimed at young children but allows kids to let off steam for an hour although there is a small additional charge for this.
G. A.
We really enjoyed the talks about some of the fish, even my grandson was interested, he actually sat still for a while,
K. B.
A great place for entertaining the younger children
D. V.
Love it! Now you can get a year pass for the price of a day ticket! Really good to just pop in every now and then!
B. W.
A very interesting day we were there about 3 hours but we could have done another hour easy the staff are friendly and knowledgeable
P. L.
What a great place kids loved it
A. P.
Brilliant day out for all ages. Wheelchair friendly too
B. D.
Amazing. The best aquarium I've visited. Went to Plymouth for my honey moon and this was one of the highlights. Must visit. Many thanks.
R. W.
Pricey to get in but an excellent aquarium.
M. D.
Interesting place, doesn't take long to go round. Cafe pricey. 17 quid for adult, 13 for child, but includes free entry for a year, so if you're relatively near Plymouth, could be really good value.
H. T.
This is a lovely day out. You can see so many different kinds of marine animals, including sharks, rays and a turtle. The staff are very friendly and informative. Ask them questions- it will enrich your visit! Due to COVID, you have to book your timeslot in advance and there is a one way system to follow once your there. There are lots of hand gel stations along the route, so you are never too far from one. This makes it feel really safe to visit and prevents large crowds so you can have a relaxing visit. The tickets are a little pricey, for students it was £17.50, but they are valid for a year, which is very handy if you live in the area. I have no problem paying a little bit extra to support such a fantastic charity.
R. T.
An absolutely fantastic day out. Loved by all the family from age 2 to 79. Great exhibits (though some of the information panels need redoing as they are wearing). Can get very busy, and therefore loud for those sensitive( maybe more quiet times?)
A.
Great place to go with family
