Kumon has proven hugely beneficial for our daughter. It has massively enhanced our daughters academic ability, confidence and joy to learn. Our daughter has excelled beyond her age group in all her school subjects due to Kumon. Such a outstanding results would not have be possible without the professional guidance of Ivy (Kumon Lecturer). Ivy is a tremendous teacher; continually providing advice, updates and assurance regarding our daughters progress.

My eldest has been doing Kumon for about two years now and I've seen a massive improvement in his abilities in both Maths and English. He went from someone that was average in Maths to one of the top students in his class at the moment. The effort has certainly paid off and he's far more confident with numbers now than he ever was - often doing most if now all calculations in his head! 😮 My youngest now has also started and he's also making really good progress. I would highly recommend Kumon to anyone that thats looking supplement their child's learning with additional Maths and English. Ivy and her team are really great and have often been very accommodating from reducing/increasing work, to start times and also making sure the children have everything they need to be able to complete their work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

My son has been doing Maths at the Shirley Kumon centre for for about a year and a half. He feels his mental maths has got stronger and he is certainly ahead of his class. Kumon lays a strong foundation for the basics which are needed at every step. My son feels confident in calculations and Kumon has assessed him as 2 years ahead of the level for his age group. Maths is definitely his favourite subject. We have been to different Kumon centres, but this centre is by far the best. All the credit goes to the instructor Dr. Ivy Man, who is one of the best teachers we have met. She takes a keen interest in all her students. She is very dedicated and hardworking. I have had a progress meeting with her followed by a detailed report for my son and regular e-mail updates, which I have never had in any of the other centres. My son feels that she is very patient and answers all his questions and believe me, there is never a dearth of those in his mind! I strongly recommend St James' Park Kumon centre to all my friends.

My daughter has been studying both the Maths and English elements at Kumon for just over a year now and her progress has been remarkable. She was not grasping the basics of the Maths lessons taught in school when she started and as a result dreading the lessons (this was my motivation for joining Kumon). But within a year her confidence with her maths has been hugely boosted - she's now skipping through her school maths work and most importantly loving numbers! The English Kumon has really helped her to focus on her accuracy and find her flow with her writing. Kumon has been instrumental for my daughter in building strong foundations in both Maths and English (which in my experience was getting missed and rushed over in school), and this is developing good healthy attitudes to all her learning. My daughter who has just turned 5 has been going to Kumon Shirley for over a year now. I can see a lot progress and developement in her maths skills. We do get comments from her school teachers that she does really well with her phonics and reading of sentences. Alister and Ivy always give personal attention to students along with regular feedback to parents regarding their progress. Will definitely recommend.

Kumon is a great learning programme for children. The staff are friendly and always give the children positive feedback. Ivy is knowledgeable in her teaching. Ivy has made sure I have felt happy in what my children are learning. My children have progressed in their Maths and English at school since starting the Kumon programme. The price is good, compared to having a personal tutor for each child and subject. I am really happy with the centre and the programme. I wish i had done this when they were younger.

My 13 year old daughter has been studying at st James Park cafe kumon center Southampton .She started since March this year and without any doubt I would say that she has build a lot of confidence in learning her maths . She feels her mental maths has gotten mach stronger and enjoys every minute of her learning. I am very pleased that she has scored a very good Mark in her exam at school. My son goes to Kumon for more than 2 years now. His progress was described on the initial assessment and he followed the Kumon guidelines to catch up. He improved so much and even his secondary school teacher noticed a big improvement! His end of year 10 exams was the best in his set and he is looking forward to be placed in a higher set! My 6 year old daughter has been studying Kumon at St James park cafe Kumon center, Southampton for more than 18 months now.my daughter has shown really good progress since she started, her math and English is very good now and she enjoys doing her homework and appeared to be more confident with her math and English. She is really ahead in her math ans english. I went to another centre in town before but i didn't like because there were too many children in a small room with little attention so i decided to go for St James park centre. She goes once in a week at scheduled time and each child receives individual attention from Dr Ivy Man , also we get regular emails regarding my child progress and also available to speak to the teacher when we collect her after the lesson.I am glad i choose this centre. I would highly recommend this centre to all my friends.

Awesome team. My daughter's have been going for just over 6 months and it has already made such a difference. One daughter has learning delays liked to her speech and I am so happy with the patient and individualized approach with each child. I am also impressed that there is consideration with weekly time slots so that both my daughters get what they need and are assessed and guided appropriatley. Great team with a heart for teaching and my daughter's must sense it too as they love going.
