Isabel helped my son build his confidence with his German before his GCSE exams. She is a great tutor and very knowledgeable and broke the subject down in to manageable parts with lots of resources to aid practice. My son found her teaching straightforward and enjoyable. I highly recommend learning German with Isabel

I have been learning German on and off for a few years now and the lessons with Isabel are by far the best I have had! The way that the learning is structured, you can make a lot of progress quickly, which has been much more motivating than my previous experiences. Isabel has so many materials that she has created, and knowledge of additional resources, to help with the lessons and also allow you to do plenty of work in your own time. I feel much more confident in my German now than I did before we started my first block of 10 hours. For now I have been learning just to improve, but in the future I will look to do the B2 level with Isabel’s guidance. Face to face and online classes both work well which means timings are flexible also. I would 100% recommend!

I started taking German lessons with Isabel in September 2021. At the time, I was looking for some extra tutoring to help boost my confidence in my German. In addition, I was also looking for extra help to achieve a 2.1 in my German degree. Thanks to Isabel's excellent tutoring, I was able to achieve both of these goals. To this day, I am extremely happy that I chose Isabel as a German tutor. Isabel is an extremely friendly and likeable individual, who is very kind and committed to her students. So much so, that she has created two extra clubs for her students. The first of which is Sunday group chat for her A2 students. This chat allows students to meet up virtually and discuss a range of subjects. The chat is a German conversation between Isabel and her students. This group chat is usually very relaxed and informal and gives students the chance to practice their German. During this conversation, Isabel will give a few corrections and notes down useful vocabulary for student's reference. The second chat is a book club for advanced students, however, all students are welcomed warmly. The book that is read by students is usually chosen by the group. So far, we have read the book Der Nasse Fisch, which is the novel adaptation of the book Babelon Berlin. We are currently reading the book Miss Merkel together.These extra clubs are just one of the many ways that Isabel goes out of her way for her students. Isabel has proved to be extremely reliable and very well organized over the time that I have known her. She has always been very understanding and accommodating to any changes to my schedule. In terms of resources, Isabel has created her own content for her classes. The resource that is most often used is a Mind Map application, along with a very specific selection of books and original printable resources. Isabel has taken many hours to upload German vocabulary and grammar to this application. This is an example of Isabel's very creative and interactive teaching style, as the app breaks down German grammar and vocabulary, whilst maintaining an interactive and fun approach. However, for those who wish to go above and beyond, you are always able to add your own vocabulary/sentences or stories to the app, which can be corrected by Isabel during lesson time. I found this extremely useful, because I learnt about how to form complex and interesting German sentences that focus on a variety of grammatical structures simultaneously. Thanks to Isabel's instruction, I have gained great confidence in my German ability. So much so, that I was able to achieve excellent marks in my German University examinations. I achieved a 2.1 in all of my written and spoken modules as well as translation examinations. As a result of Isabel's teaching and constant support, I was able to secure employment in a German speaking role as an immigration coordinator for a legal firm that deals with immigration to Germany. I do not think that this would have been possible without Isabel's help. Regarding the process of learning online, I was initially a bit sceptical about receiving tuition in this format. However, I can say hand on heart that it was and still is, the most convenient method of learning a language. Despite the physical distance between Isabel and I, I can honestly say that I feel like I have gotten to know her very well using this method. In addition to this, I think this method of learning is very practical as it fits around my busy schedule. In terms of our lessons themselves, Isabel carefully adapts her lessons to my personal interests and language goals whilst keeping the lessons varied. I will continue to learn German with Isabel as I am so impressed with her lessons and teaching. I would definitely recommend her as a German tutor for any level.

Isabel is a brilliant teacher and would highly recommend her to any group or individual wishing to learning German. Initially the lessons were for our 10 year old son, this was due to the fact we had returned from living in Germany and it was a skill we didn't want him to forget. However due to the lessons being fun and structured in a way that it was engaging to him, it wasn't long before our 7 year old daughter also wanted to learn. So now both children are being taught and every week I am astounded with the amount they learn. Even with the age difference and the different ways both children learn, Isabel manages To have them both fully understanding the work they've done. Plus can truly say that the children look forward to the lesson every week even after a hard day at school.

I started learning German with Izzy in a group class before going to individual lessons when classes ended. Both experiences were very positive. Izzy Is a very enthusiastic and committed teacher who can adapt her teaching methods to personalised learning styles. I have learning disabilities (dyslexia and dyspraxia) and Izzy adapted her methods to suit those which helped my unique learning style. She is kind, patient and attentive. She also regularly develops new helpful materials to help all her students. I passed my Gothe Institute A1 exam in January with a score of 98%, for someone who always branded themselves as not able to learn languages this was a significant achievement, which I believe is attributable to Izzy’s help and support. I would not hesitate to recommend Izzy as a German teacher for groups or individuals.
