L. H.I can’t recommend York School of Jewellery highly enough. Whether you are a complete novice or you’ve got some experience in jewellery and or silversmithing this is a great place to learn. Both Nik and Julie are hugely experienced and offer an environment which is tailored to each student’s level of ability. The studio is very well equipped and Its a friendly, supportive place to be. I look forward to my weekly session and can’t believe how quickly the time goes!

Nik and Julie offer an outstanding level of service, pushing their students to do their very best and creating a wonderfully supportive and creative environment along the way. The workshop is brilliantly well equipped and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to give jewellery making/silversmithing a go.

Nick and Julie are experts in a wide range of jewellery making techniques and can offer extra instruction in other areas such as silversmithing, enamelling and soldering. Classes are relaxed, follow students interests and supports their creativity. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Julie and Nik are excellent teachers who really encourage students to be creative in their ideas. It’s a lovely relaxed atmosphere full of friendly welcoming people. The small class sizes and range of equipment mean there is always a new technique or skill to learn. Nik an Julie have created a really unique learning environment, relaxed and friendly with their teaching style adapted to suit each individual.

Both Nik & Julie provide different teaching styles, both highly knowledgeable and patient in their approach. They are also fun to be around making coming to class so enjoyable, creating a warm working environment whilst learning so much. Because of this, even with all new covid measures that they’ve put in place, the atmosphere is not affected and I look forward to coming every week. I have learnt so many skills in my first project alone, and I’m looking forward to my confidence and creativity in jewellery design increasing through their encouraging tuition.

M. B.I have been attending YSJ for a couple of years now and thoroughly enjoy my time there every week. The two hour sessions go so quickly. I learn new processes and techniques constantly from both Nik and Julie, and also from watching other students work on their own pieces. There is always something new to see and the tuition is nothing short of excellent. The school is very professional in it's approach , yet the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, a great recipe for successful tuition. Nik and Julie have worked so hard to make it a safe place in which to work in these 'distant' times, with every precaution being taken and adhered to. All credit to them. Can thoroughly recommend YSJ if you would like to have a go at something new and exciting.

I've learned so many different skills since I started coming a couple of years ago - and the teaching is excellent but delivered in a way that makes it an enjoyable process and you amaze yourself with how much you have learned after each class. The atmosphere is really special - the teachers and students are all really friendly and that is just as important as anything else. So much hard work has gone into making the school as Covid safe as possible and I am grateful for this. I was concerned that things wouldn't feel the same following the lockdown but can honestly say that we have all adjusted to the new procedures and are back to enjoying learning and being in the company of great people in a warm, friendly environment. I always recommend York School of Jewellery to people especially now when we are looking for new interests and ways to connect in the current situation. I feel really lucky to be a student here.
G. F.York School of Jewellery is an excellent place to learn traditional silver jewellery and silversmithing, taught by Nik and Julie who are both extremely knowledgable and experienced. A. F.Lots of fun to be had whilst gaining skills and knowledge. I have been attending for a short while and can already say it’s been a brilliant experience. To slowly see and learn about a craft that results in a beautiful product is simply amazing. I thoroughly enjoy attending with my daughter and would highly recommend to anyone.
