first place to start is very helpful and very knowledgeable choose him over anyone else due to reviews and seen he had repaired various redwing boots, i choose to travel over 2 hours overall to have my best set of boots resoled with them. The price was amazing for the work and effort it took to find the correct close fitting sole for the boot. when i went to pick the boot up it wasn't just in and out first i was greeted very professionally (both times) and with a smile, then it was on to making sure the boot fitted correctly and there wasn't any uncomfortable feelings and if there was they were sorted there and then in front of me trying on the boot walking around and doing little adjusments here and there to get them to fit flat to the floor and perfectly to each foot. i cant recommend enough i will definitely come back to use when my other boots wear out and will send my mates here too. thanks again for the help.

Have used the Canton Cobbler for quite a while now. Always go that extra mile, great service, Tim and Don are really friendly and very professional. Have used them for shoe repairs and they are outstanding. Never had a problem with keys they have cut (unlike others!!!). They also sell Barker shoes, Tim really knows his shoes and helped me pick the perfect pair (even found out I've been wearing the wrong size shoes for years!!!). Cant recommend them highly enough. Good work lads, keep it up!!!!

I bought a lovely pair of Loake Thirsk boots my pride and joy.I have had these boots for 10 years plus.The boots are quality and very well made.However when I applied to Loakes to get them repaired they would not work on them as I had had a third party repair ? Not to be outdone I returned to the Canton Cobbler in Cardiff where I first purchased the boots.They did such a wonderful professional job that I have nothing but praise for them.Its just a pity that Loakes don.t seem to have the professionals to do the same work.I Highly Recommend the Canton Cobbler.Cobblers as they used to be.Top Notch

These friendly and helpful guys have such skill and craftsmanship. The soles and the suede upper on my 1970’s boots had complete come apart. I am so thrilled to have had them rescued and brought back to life. With new soles and heels they almost look like new. Also, the soles on my favourite boating shoes had gone hard and slippery - perilous to wear. These have undergone a full restoration looking smart are comfortable and safe to wear. Thank you.

Very helpful and patient when I went to buy a pair of shoes (a present) for my university graduation. I'm a novice in handmade shoes, which they could obviously tell, but I didn't ever feel like they were just trying to get an easy sale or get me to buy the most expensive pair. They helped me pick a nice pair (after looking at a few) that were good for both my graduation ceremony and for my job interviews that came after. They also gave me a lot of tips on how to look after my new shoes.

I had two sets of car keys and lost one pair. I went to the cobbler to try and duplicate the key. The cobbler was really nice but told me he won't do it because my car wasn't there so he can check it works. I am from a different country he could have easily taken my money but he was honest and helpful. Mind you this is the usual experience with Welsh shopkeepers - honest, friendly and helpful.

I haven’t purchased my Barker shoes from here yet but wanted to leave a review to say what a first class level of customer service Tim provided today. I know nothing about handmade shoes and he was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable and able to ask questions. He took considerable time to find my sizing and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He also had complete patience as I tried on several shapes and styles. The only reason I didn’t buy on the spot was because I want my better half to be able to see the styles I shortlisted. They offer a number of services and little extras you won’t get if you buy online including buffing up my shoes after I wear them in so they’re as good as new for the wedding. Highly recommend you go here if you’re looking for some fine shoes. Looking forward to my purchase.

My boots needed repairing, had eyelets put in at the top of the boots 8 of them, reasonable length of time to wait 5 days, excellent price. I would definitely use this place again.

I had a an old pair of my favourite Bertie boots which was startying to wear at the soles and it developed a hole. It was 7 years old but I loved them so much as these wer my alpha female work boots and couldn't bear to get rid of it as the top part of the boots were still good. One of the gentleman who works at the cobblers really knew what he was doing and brought back my boots to life- the soles are replaced and soft and it looks smart and new. The men working there were also very patient and courteous. These cobblers really know their trade.

I discovered Canton Cobblers a year ago and they are now on their sixth repair for me. I live in SE Asia where shoes are 100% disposable and cobblers do not exist; I even tried to track down a maker of orthopaedic shoes without success. I go to Cardiff a few times each year and, to find a 'proper' cobblers is a major bonus. I leave shoes with them until the next trip so, no rush. The problem is my ageing collection of Church's shoes, primarily Grafton and Stratton crup, which would be hugely expensive to buy new. When I bought them originally in Hereford from Jones, repairs were sent back to the Northampton factory for a complete rebuild. If a shoe broke down during repair, a new pair was supplied! That was before Church's became part of Prada. When I was in Cardiff last month I picked up two pairs of Russell and Bromley boots which I bought in 2002. They were in a bit of a state but after a complete leather re-sole by Canton they look like new again. I also collected my very first pair of Church's which I bought in 1988; a pair of black evening dress shoes which, after a complete new leather sole & heel job by Canton, look remarkable for their age. I had 2 pairs of Church's in for repair at the Northampton factory when it was flooded at Easter 1998; one Stratton crup and one Grafton crup. Church's replaced the 'flooded' pairs with new. The pair of 1998 Grafton crup, I left with Canton for a complete re-sole and heel last month. I kept the pair of Stratton Crup in a box and they are now 16 years old - unused; I think Church's now sell them as Shannon. I looked at them next to my first pair of Stratton crup, bought in 1990 and, recently repaired by Canton; an amazing repair for a pair of 24 year old shoes! They also sell high quality Dasco round waxed laces and Kiwi Parade Gloss in Oxblood as well as Black, both products difficult to find.
