Was directed here from solovair’s own stockist list. Really fun East End shopping experience! The seller convinced me to buy a size smaller than I’d intended to buy online but he was right, on the second day they feel great. Really recommend this place and their expert humorous advice.

What’s not to love? Excellent service, lots of choice and very funny & knowledgable staff. I love this place. Now living in the country but make sure that I visit when coming up to the smoke and almost always come away with something that I didn't know I wanted but love. Phil and his late father, Mr Blackman, have/had impeccable taste, know their shoes and make shopping here a real pleasure. I recommend this shop without hesitation.

What a fantastic shop,been using it for a few years and luckily it never changes just as the great service never does as well as the great banter and the great friendly welcome you get from all the family that work there. You will find a great character shop smack bang in the middle of the eastend which I believe the shop has been there since the 1930’s and has been in the same family throughout so check it out when in the Bricklane area for famous name makes of shoes,boots etc and at great prices that iv not seen cheaper anywhere else!!!

Bought a quality pair of Barker brogues at a great price in an 8 and a half size. Worth heading down on a Sunday via Brick Lane Market and seeing if they have what you want, they have a good range of work shoes, plimsoles and dr.martens...really funny cheeky chappy owner who I thought was great in giving advice and recommending a cobbler.

I was painting the advertising for a barbershop a few doors down the road and found out about Blackmans, an original store with no nonsense customer service, friendly owner and excellent choice of footwear. Too bad I had limited space in my luggage, but next time I'll make shure that I bring an extra case for some more models. Thanks mister Blackman, from the guy with the beautiful lady from Holland!

An iconic old shoe shop off Brick Lane. Very welcoming reception from the owner who is a real traditional Londoner. Still selling adult plimsolls for £5 a pair too.

One of London's best kept secrets. It's not just cheap plimsoles and boots- they do Barkers and Grensons for less than half the retail price. Not the biggest range but they have all the standard Oxfords and brogues in leather in calfskin. Brilliant service with a smile and usually a dirty joke!
