I had been suffering with arch pain for a while and spotted this shop whilst out on my lunch break. I was seen almost immediately by Barry, who was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. He had a look at my feet and brought me two types of insoles to try. I left feeling so relieved with my new insoles, with a spring in my step! Have recommended this establishment to all.

Well i found this shop online , booked and appointment and had no experience before of bespoke orthopedic insoles , so I gave it a try and ice got surprised how well they know what they doing. I had a consultation with a friendly and very informative foot technician , I made a Fair analysis and got surprised by the results! Then I decided to order a shoe and an insole , basically I could set the design what ever I wanted , and could choose from more than a thousand leathers! We have fitted the shoe and the insole and they had to make a few adjustments but they did it right away! I had low expectations but it turned out Mr. Andrews master shoemaker for a reason! Now I use the shoe and the insole every day and my back pain and foot pain is completely gone! Thank you for your service , now I know where to go if I need a proper footwear for my funky foot!

I have been suffering with my feet for many years and whatever footwear I tried never worked. I came across Special Footwear on the internet and decided to visit their West End Shop. it was probably the best decision i have ever made. Anthony Andrews and his staff are true professionals . I was put at ease from the moment i walked in, mind you the tea and biscuits they provide helped. They gave me a thorough consultation and explained what style of shoe they felt would best suit me. They took me down into the workshop to show me how the shoes are made and in an adjoining room there is a vast stock of different types of leather from which you can choose. Three weeks later i was ready for the first fitting of the shoes. a couple of adjustments were needed but another fitting later I walked out with a most comfortable pair of shoes and my foot pain is now in the past. I can`t thank Anthony and his staff enough .

When I was in London on Holiday from Melbourne, Australia, I came across Mr Andrews at his Special footwear business. I complained about back soreness which was linked to an imbalance in my feet. Mr Andrews demonstrated the benefits of his shoes and his orthotic products. He promised that if the pain didn't diminished in a few weeks, I could get my money refunded This was 5 years ago, and I've never felt better. In fact, every year I order a new pair of shoes, and I order my insoles from Mr Andrews' Australian division. I have no hesitation in recommending his products! Maurice Xanthos

I've tried orthotics from other companies but with little luck and after hearing all the positive reviews, i decided to bite the bullet and contact this company. I'm so glad i did. The service was personable, helpful and professional and the orthotics worked wonders with my feet. Thankfully i no longer suffer from foot pain and I can now enjoy life and dance again. I have Charcot Arthropathy in both feet due to diabetes and can not wear off the peg shoes. The NHS made a total of five pairs of shoes for me, only one shoe both fitted correctly and did not cause me harm. Reconstructive surgery was the only other option. Desperate for help I found my way to Mr Andrew's company and I now have a superbly made pair of shoes with moulded orthotic insoles which I have been wearing for three months without any problems what so ever. I have ordered a second pair and will probably order a third. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming, professional and highly skilled. The footwear is made on the premises by true craftsmen and the quality is excellent. I can not recommend them highly enough. And you get an excellent cup of tea.

I am a 100% committed fan of Special Footwear & Orthotics because, quite simply, they are the very best not only in what they provide but in the helpful and considerate way that they go about it. Initially they made orthotics for me which immediately removed the pain that I experienced when walking and then, for my daughters wedding, they made me a pair of shoes that are the most comfortable I have EVER worn. Visited the shop for the first time back in August last year, after being diagnosed with acute flat feets. Kirk, the orthotic consultant, assessed my case thoroughly, and commissioned a tailor made pair of orthotic insole within 48 hours , knowing the severity of my case. Since then, i recovered gradually to the extent of 100%. Today I visited the shop again to order a spare pair of insoles to use on lighter sneakers, and the staff, again were highly professional , Kirk and James. Thanks to the receptionist Allyona who arranged the consultation swiftly even without an appointment. On hearing fake reviews on here by a disgruntled customer, I am very upset by this. I am a qualified biomechanist and I can vouch for Mr Andrews, he is a very decent man, and his customer service is second to none. He has years of experience of helping the disabled and has always gone the extra mile even when he was working in the NHS. I shall continue to send my patients to this company for orthotics and fantastic orthopaedic footwear.

I was recommended this place by a keen runner. While I don't live in the U.K., I'm a regular visitor and I was staying nearby, so went on spec to see if they could help with some pain issues in my heel. They gave me an appointment within a couple of hours and I was assessed meticulously. I had some new orthotics within a few days - and while I must say they felt very strange for a couple of weeks, my very longstanding problems cleared up completely. Also, I have a slightly arthritic left knee (my doctor calls it a bit crunchy!), and miraculously that gives me no more pain either. That was seven years ago. Since then, I have been back for softer orthotics for my running shoes, and further normal ones. I have recommended the place to many people - even encouraged people to travel from other countries to go there. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Real professionals.

I’ve had custom orthotics made where the clinic sends the foot impression to a lab who make the orthotics. Problem with this is the lab will never get the orthotics 100 percent. I found this company on the net and went and saw Andy. I told him my legs were aching and needed the orthotics asap. Next day my orthotics were ready and all I can say they are fantastic. I have spent £1000’s on orthotics in the past however they were not perfect. Andy made the perfect orthotics and I felt the difference straight away. Thank you

I have recently had some custom made orthotics made, after I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis (AVN) of the lateral sesamoid.. I tried another company in London which I wont name, that didn't know how to solve this issue. So I decided to to try this shop. I have been wearing the orthotics now for just over 2 months and my issue is already getting better. They have offloaded the pressure I was getting in that area and I am completely satisfied. The staff were all completely helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend them. Completely satisfied.
