I popped in twice over the course of one week as I'd been looking to buy a pair of quality handmade shoes. The range of shoes in the shop is simply wonderful and there's definitely something for everyone. The three members of staff whom I encountered were extremely professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I certainly found what I was looking for and I really look forward to popping by the shop next time I'm in Nottingham. This is an outstanding local business which I would highly recommend to all locals or indeed visitors.

I first found Peters when I was wandering past one day about 10 years ago and he asked me about my shoes - he then popped into his shop and gave me some free polish! Since then I have been a loyal customer and I am constantly amazed at how good a job they do when it is time for my shoes to be resoled. I have had leather and Dainite soles replaced and the standard of craftsmanship is second to none - I will definitely be buying my next pair of shoes from Peters!

When you have "invested" a fair amount in a pair of Northampton's finest they deserve the best when it comes to repairs. Peter's is most definitely not a sole 'n heel bar. My trusty Tricker's came back looking great. And while you are there take time to pop into the showroom round the back.

I recently visited Pete's shop by chance as I was in Nottingham for a show. What an absolutely lovely little place it is, packed with top quality beautifully designed shoes. Some by other manufacturers but Pete's own designs are also available. If you're looking for something a little different to the rest & like top quality, hand made shoes/boots you really will not be disappointed. I purchased a pair of cherry red Brogue boots ( Pete's own design ) & I am absolutely thrilled with them. So much so that I plan to return for a pair of his plain tan boots in the very near future. They have attracted a lot of compliments already with a few mates on their way over to the shop already. Pete is a great personality, I look forward to seeing you again soon. Graham

Before Christmas stopped to look at the shoes, a lovely gentleman came out to see if he could help, at the time we was just browsing but my husband asked him if it worth rehealing the boots I was wearing, the chap did no more then popping into the shop and brought out some shoe cream and said yes it would be worth rehealing but he hated seeing a good pair of leather boots crying in need of a good polish.... And gave us the shoe cream free of charge. That completely took us by surprise but made our day. Today I went back to see him to thank him... Hope you enjoy the chocolates, will definitely recommend and be back to purchase a pair of shoes... A big big thankyou 😊😊

I bought a pair of shoes that had to be delivered. Because I live abroad I asked them to be sent to me. There was a lot of confusion and poor communication from Peter's, but they finally sorted it out and they waived the postage charge and added a free tin of shoe polish too. I wasn't happy at first, but a good test of a business is how they deal with things when they go wrong and Peter's did very well here. I would definitely go back

It's a lovely little shop with a small manufacturing area and a separated shoe display. There is a wide range of high quality handmade shoes available, also if you are interested in a certain pair they will order it for you. What makes this shop, employees and owner most memorable is that even if things are not most satisfactory at first, they will work hard to make the customer happy.

What a fantastic experience! 10 minutes and walked out with the best pair of shoes i have ever brought! Didn't really know what i wanted, explained what i did for a living, and that i'm on my feet a lot, and that was it! He even gave me some fleecy inserts so my feet don't get cold. This is a great place to buy good quality shoes from, the staff are very patient and helpful. It is the best place to buy shoes in Nottingham. However, shoe repairs are very expensive and not to a high standard (I have had the heel fall off a shoe that was repaired by them less than a month ago). There are better places to go in Nottingham for shoe repairs.

I brought my pair of Bedales two years ago and found the leather was splitting. I took them back to the shop despite not having a receipt the proprietor did not quibble, he was calm and professional and told me he would deal with the issue. The Loakes factory was contacted and they replaced the shoes free of charge without any quibbling as well. Resulting that I am now the proud owner of a new pair of Bedales. This is not going the 'extra mile' but runnng an extra marathon, to receive this sort of customer care in this day and age is frankly rare. For those of you reading this and considering buying your first pair of Loakes, you are buying the Rolls Royce of shoes, it is not a transaction but the beginning of a relationship. Speaking for myself, one that will last a life time.
