I had a wonderful experience coming here to get a pair of running trainers for long distances. I had been having problems with my current trainers and Alan could see straight away what the issues were. He did a thorough gait analysis and really took the time to go through different shoe options and didn’t try to rush me at all and was invested in helping me find the best shoes for me. Alan was also very knowledgeable, offering his expert advice regarding all things running. It was a very pleasurable experience and I’ll definitely be coming back!

I have hypermobile joints and was advised to get properly fitted trainers as my old Nikes weren’t up to the job. I Went and saw Alan and the lovely assistant (sorry I forgot your name, my memory is terrible) straight away they sorted me out with different options and helped me find a pair that supported just right. Both seemed genuinely interested in getting the right pair and not just the most expensive. No pushy sales, just a really nice place to go. I got longer laces as I needed the top back loops and Alan kindly laced them for me too! Lovely guys, will definitely be recommending the shop! I got the Brooks adrenaline 22 GTS and they are super comfortable!

I visited the shop this morning and was greeted by Oliver and Alan who were extremely friendly. I spent about 45 minutes trying different shoes to see what would be best for me to train and run a marathon. My plan was to leave with a pair of new trainers and I did! They could not have done anything more for me. Their customer service was so great, I returned an hour later to get some headphones. I will definitely be back over these coming months for a new running belt and lots more advice. If you are looking for a highly knowledgeable shop for all things running, this is the one.

I have never felt more comfortable as a customer in a shop my entire life. Alan was the perfect gentleman man, quick with a joke for every occasion. At one point he managed to juggle four customers at once without complaint from us or him. He allowed me to see the process behind finding perfect shoe. Which showd me that he really knew his stuff. I’m new to running and wanted to get a new, comfier pair of trainers. Was greeted with a smile when I arrived by a guy who really knew his stuff and a youngster who was training but still really good and helpful. Their knowledge and customer service was incredible, did the gait analysis, brought out about 5 different weeks pairs of shoes in different sizes, let me try them and reanalysed the gait on the running machine. Can’t say a bad work about them. Will be back when I need more gear. Thanks all at the store.

I got to the store at 9.30 am amd saw that it opened at 10am. Despite this Jason opened up and invited me in early which was a great start to the excellent customer service. He clearly knew his stuff as just by looking he had an idea how i must run and what sort of shoes would provode the best support. We tried various brands and tested them on a treadmill. He provided further advice about sizing and about looking after the shoe. I have been running for most of my life and yet knew none of this. In summary you will pay more than some stores but you are paying for expert advice and excellent customer service. Hopefully the shoes are just as good.

I received absolutely INCREDIBLE service from Runners World Watford. I bought some trainers in preparation for a marathon and after a couple of months found they were feeling a bit tight in my longer training sessions. I was recommended to go here and it was the right choice. I ended up buying a pair of Brooks running shoes which are awesome. The owner of the shop who looked after me was great. Super friendly and helpful and never pushed the sale. Allowed me time to try different shoes (needed a few as I have one foot slightly bigger than the other) and run with them on the running machine. He checked my gait whilst in the shoes too. This was a free service if you buy the shoes from him. I’m really happy with my purchase and would recommend anyone buying runners to take a look here. This is a great little store for running shoes and equipment. I always buy a new pair of running shoes, every year when I return to watford. Whilst I can get cheaper shoes, these shoes last a long time and you can have your walking / running checked to get the right shoes that will work for you and be super confortable.

My second visit here in a few years and I still wouldn't go anywhere else for the level of service and expert knowledge. Me and my girlfriend both came in over the weekend to get some new running shoes, Alan served us and as always great advice. After having a test run my shoes weren't quite working for me and they were so kind as to exchange them for something that fitted better. I really think this is amazing customer service and would happily pay the extra to go here than to your normal sports shop. Take the time, get a fitting, be honest with how the shoes feel and let them help you. You won't regret it.

Charming and incredibly knowledgeable store with everything you would need as a runner. I had the pleasure of being dealt with Jason, who gave me great advice on my feet and what type of shoes I would need for my upcoming marathon. He didn't cut corners and was very thorough when analysing the gait tracking on my feet. I couldn't recommend this shop enough and will be buying all my gear from there now on! You just don't find these types of stores anymore and I am glad that this one still exists.

Very friendly and helpful. I have very wide feet and they had trainers that even fit me. They gave good advice and the trainers seem great quality. I've spent a fortune before trying to get trainers that fit properly with terrible results. I now have a problem with my achilles. I was on the treadmill for less than a minute before the salesman figured out what I needed. Very impressed, will go definitely shop there the next time I need running shoes.

Have recently decided to sign up to couch to 5k and being a lot older than most beginners I knew I needed good shoes. I was recommended to runners world Watford and I am delighted I was. Alan served us taking infinite care that I walked out with best option. He must have brought me at least 6 different options to try - used the treadmill to record my gait and made excellent recommendations. After doing ASICS 10k this year, I decided to buy some real running trainers. After spotting the Runners World Watford on the bus, I decided to visit once back in the area. I have to say the customer service was more than I could ask for or even imagine. Jason, Alan and Martin (sorry if I got your names wrong but one was delightful customer lol). I was welcomed into the shop and put at ease after explaining I didnt have a clue about runner shoes. Before I knew it I was on a hi tech treadmill (noting I have seen in any gym) singing songs from yesterday years. The patience these gentlemen have are beyond words, thank you again. The knowledge regarding each brand, style, shape of foot (loss of instep over here), sizing, toe checking, attention to detail and not to mention the music list from yesteryear, all this while multitasking because I have I turned up after deliveries. Who said men can't multitask.👀 I had a lot of questions and was indecisive for long period of time. In the end, I left feeling like I could do marathon with my new runners. 👟👟 I would highly recommend going to Runners World Watford 🏆, even if you're looking for supportive trainers to get around for your day to day activities or just like me, starting out in the world of running. I have just started on a fitness journey and wanted to take up running. So, having my online research, I popped in to ask for advice and to try on a few pairs of shoes to get a feel for things. The shop is small but entirely focused and dedicated to running. You can see running bibs worn from previous marathons decorate their walls. Intimidating for me but tells me they are passionate about their running. Alan suggested a gait analysis (£15 if you don't buy any shoes) to identify my running style and any issues around how my feet land. He then recommended a number of products and styles for me to try. I found out my fitness shoes were too small and that may explain why I have injuries in my feet. He was beyond professional, patient and helpful. I paid for my gait analysis, went home to do more research. Since then, I have gone back to buy a pair of shoes because their pricing is competitive with online suppliers and I also get my gait analysis refunded! Very happy customer and would highly recommend.

I just got back from Runners World in Watford after buying a great pair of running shoes. After 9 weeks in lockdown, I was desperate for a new pair! I made an appointment, and from beginning to end, the service was fantastic. I had my gait tested on a treadmill and was shown loads of different trainers. I was encouraged to test every pair on the treadmill to see how they all felt. I wasn’t rushed and encouraged to just “try this last pair”. I’m so glad I did as the very last pair were heaven! As a new runner I was a bit intimidated to go to a run shop, but I was made to feel so welcome that I relaxed immediately and wasn’t t afraid to ask various technical I questions I had. I now know how important it is to get fitted properly for running shoes, and this is the place to go. The guys were so experienced and knowledgeable, I just wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Honestly the best shoe shopping experience I have ever had! I came in after running in some pretty horrible shoes I bought from sports direct and needed some new ones! I was served by Alan and his energy and passion really came across whilst he was dealing with me. I have pretty flat and wide feet so often have trouble finding a good shoe. I used there gate service which is only 15 quid or free if you buy the shoes there. After about an hour of looking for shoes it seemed like we can across the perfect shoe and I can’t wait to go out running in them. Don’t go to a big chain place if you want to feel like you have made a good purchase! Go here they are ace!!

Went into the Watford shop on Saturday for a new pair of trainers, never an easy job for me, bunions, dropped arch and regular back pain. Came to runners world to get my gait done, which costs £15 or free if you buy the shoes. I've been suffering from shin splints and needed some good supportive trainers. A young chap called Has kindly helped me and my husband and he did a great job that in just 30 mins we both picked out some trainers which 2 weeks on are working just great for us! Got us some Asics and Sauconys .. the manager knows his stuff and so I highly recommend this shop.

I accompanied my wife to get some new trainers as she is running quite a bit now. I’d been to the store before but normally buy from a different running shop in central London. We both run a fair amount so wanted to pay to get proper running shoes rather than fashion shoes which most high street shops sell. I also wanted her to get the gait analysis to help inform what to buy. When we first got there it was crazy busy but the staff were really nice, kept apologising for the delay and said they would get to us shortly. We actually went for a wonder to other shops and came back a short while later and it had quietened down and we got their full attention. I just can't rate the service I have had from Runners World Watford branch enough. I bought some head phones from them just after the first lock down. Because I couldn't get over to the shop Jason the manager delivered them to my door, making his journey home twice as long. As a shop I liked it a lot, good collection and they know their job. But I had a little bad experience. We went to buy a shoe for my wife. We were told we could get gait analysis which costs £15, but if we buy any shoes, this fee will be waived. They did a thorough analysis, and suggested some shoes. We liked the shoes, but were little pricey over what we initially budgeted. We said the same to the salesman there and said will pay the analysis fee, and need an hour to think and get back. We then suddenly see a change in his behavior and he said something like "I wouldn't have wasted so much time if I have known you people are not buying". Let me remind we were the only people in the shop at that time, and it's not at all busy. I felt this to be extremely rude as we already said we would pay for gait analysis. We actually wanted to buy, but just wanted an hour for us to sink in whether it's worth the money (as it way more than our initial budget). After his behavior we didn't buy from them. We bought them another place for the same price. They lost a customer, but i am sure they don't care much as doesn't understand customer service (at-least the salesman who attended us).

I decided to start running again after many years & needed a good quality pair of comfortable running shoes. However, I didn't know much about what was on offer these days, apart from Asics being a decent brand. I popped into this cosy little shop, tucked away at the bottom of Watford High Street, and was served by the super-helpful Alan who was very knowledgeable, personable and happy to chat and answer my questions. I did the gait analysis (£15 but free if you buy shoes) and tried on a few different brands & sizes. In the end, I bought the Asics Gel Kayano 26 (N.B. I'm usually a UK 11 but I needed the 11.5) and I've already been out for a run and they're great (and look good, too). I also bought a decent-value running top, specialist socks and sweatbands. There were other bits and bobs like knee supports etc for serious runners. I'll be popping back whenever I'm in Watford again. Highly recommended!
