Reviews of Ystwyth Books

An excellent collection of books in very good condition, if you are looking for a book and he doesn't have it then he will give you a good recommendation for the best local store to visit.

An excellent bookshop with countless books on everything in English and Welsh, and a few floor-to-ceiling shelves of foreign-language books including ones in Irish and Breton. A lovely place to get lost in

One of the best. Huge selection. Excellent natural history section with the latest titles and many older books. A helpful and knowledgeable owner. A delight to visit. Very difficult not to leave without buying.

This bookshop is part of the fabric of the town, yet still there are those who have lived here for decades and don't know of it. A massive array of books of all shapes, sizes and - most importantly - ages. Every nook and cranny seems to have an old (and sometimes dusty) book.

This shop is amazing. I know you might be thinking, "but I know a book store, it was pretty good..." it doesn't have anything on this place. It had all the charming traits of a good book store 1) floor to ceiling books 2)books covering every possible surface 3)books on every possible subject 4) looks like it was someone's house before it overflowed with so many books that they had to start selling them to make room for more books 5) a knowledgeable man who seemed to have an acute knowledge of the obscure field that your looking for and more importantly, where the books you need are 6) it smells like books 7) very very reasonably priced, not that this matters as anyone who is a book lover knows, low prices just means you end up buying more. Really recommend!

Beautiful old timey book shop, new and old books stacked up high, knowledgeable staff are friendly and very helpful! My go-to bookshop in Aber!

Probably one of the most satisfying book shops you have been to. It is absolutely beautiful inside with a very old school aesthetic and a lot little personal touch that almost feels like you are walking in their home 😍

Lovely old fashioned book shop tucked away in the back street of Aberystwyth. Second hand books galore on every subject just ask if you can't find what you are looking for. Dog friendly too!

Not many bookshops are worthy of five stars, this place is phenomenal. Books on almost anything. From interesting little £1 pieces to very rare and highly collectable.
Definitely coming back.

If your a book lover you'll love this shop. It's a bit of a mess but that just means you get to spend more time searching through books, new and old

This is what I think of as a proper second hand bookshop. Really well stocked and organised. Has a large Welsh and Celtic language section.

Cosy cluttered bookshop, full of discoveries to be made. If you like to rummage in bookshops with shelves to the ceiling and higgledy-piggledy piles of books on a range of subjects, this is the place for you.

Excellent postal service through Abebooks.co.uk. Book as described in as new condition and received within a few days of order. Would certainly use again

So many books! Very friendly proprietor with a fine selection of new and preowned volumes across three floors.

Amazing selection of books, value for money, and helpful staff. Coping well with covid restrictions.

Impressive collection of books, and a lovely and helpful owner

Lovely rickety bookshop, second hand and new, not much in the way of organisation so quite hard to find anything, but there is a catalogue you can ask for
G. P.
Great selection well organised pity there's not a LGBT section
R. T.
Best bookshop on the world with a wonderful selection of English and Welsh language books (amongst others!).

Love this place.

(Translated) There are more books here than you'll ever read in your live-time. Every aspect of a book, from classic parts or non-fiction things like books in Cornwall! Difficult to find, unfortunately. Enter the Market Hall, walk through, then bear left.

Oes fwy llyfrau yma na byddwch chi erioed darllen yn eich fyw-amser. Pob agwedd o lyfr, o rhannau glasurol neu pethau di-ðisgwl fel llyfrau'n Cernyw! Anodd i ðarganfod, yn anffodus. Fynd i'r Neuadd Marchnad, cerddedwch trwy, wedyn mae ar y chwith.
