A privately owned library (the oldest one in Belfast) and museum that is freely open to the public. Nice place to come for relaxation and a bit of quiet reading time. The gift shop is full of goodies so make sure you spend some time there before you leave.

I loved this small but cute library with some works of art and history exhibits. I spent some time in the library which is open to public for free and had a bite at the cafe. Friendly and helpful staff, in the city centre and definitely worth a visit.

The linenhall is a free private library with private collections of irish political art and local history.
It has an amazing stick of books and a lovely tea and coffee shop on site.
It overlooks city Hall and is a lovely place with performance spaces.

I recently held a book launch at Linenhall library for our company Excalibur Press and I am absolutely delighted with the service we received. We were looked after very well, they were more than accommodating and helpful and everything went smoothly. Even all the tech worked! Not always the case with every venue.
The library also accommodated us to be able to take photos in the library area.
Absolutely recommend Linenhall, also our author used their research facilities quite heavily and spoke very highly of them so I would definitely recommend utilising their fantastic space.

Hidden gem of a cafe with views of the City Hall. All foods of a good quality and very reasonably priced. As you would expect of a Library, it is very quiet, classical music in the background, but really surprised to find it empty.

A quiet serene Library where you can hear a pin drop. A great place to study, concentrate or simply have your choice of books to relax and read.

Beautiful building! Loved the little cafe inside - lunch was delicious. Enjoyed wandering around inside enjoying the exhibit and books. Nice location. Handicap accessible too. If you're a book lover, I highly recommend a visit.

The Linen Hall Library is an oasis of quiet history in a busy city centre -- when my student commute had me passing by city centre regularly, I took out a membership simply to have a quiet space to study and write. Worth a nosey for tourists and locals alike -- with frequent exhibition changes, a hearty selection of local history and quiet, private nooks framed in the splendor of lovely dark woodwork and antique upholstery.

A bit claustrophobic for my taste, but cozy still.

Don’t know why it’s taken me so long to visit this library, fantastic place, very friendly and helpful staff. and the creeks on the floors and the busy street noise from outside make it all the more interesting, young and old researching and studying in every corner, a pleasant cup coffee or lunch in the cafe just to finish the visit off . I will be making a few more visits.

Linenhall library is a rite of passage if you are visiting Belfast. It will be a brief visit but it is worth popping in and admiring the architecture of the place if nothing else. The library has an extensive collection of reference books and archive materials. It is a wonderful place to study on a lazy afternoon and has a brilliant little cafe serving traditional home made fayre.
