Reviews of Dice Saloon
V. L. B.
I went earlier in the day at a request of a family member. Previously I have never enjoyed board games, but the guy in the shop was so enthusiastic and helpful I came back in the evening and played. It was really fun. So thanks that man! Only 4 stars as the cafe service was really slow as they just had 2 staff, so not really their fault. I would go again, definitely.

I love this place. Have been hanging out there, working, chilling, enjoying their great selection of tasty vegan pizzas, etc. It was also the place where I painted the Halo Infinite Masterpiece together with the greatest team an artist could possibly dream of. They took such good care of us. Highly recommend a visit. The best!
S. J.
Dropped in to browse, and was greeted by a lovely staff member at the counter, who gave my partner and I information about some board games we were looking at.
He pointed us in the direction of the Magic singles section of the store, of which we were met by more lovely staff who were more than happy to help us out and have a chat.
Would definitely recommend, and will be visiting again myself 😁
W. A.
A super cool place to meet friends and play games! There are loads of different board and card games in the library to choose and the little cafe in the corner offers drinks, cake and pizza so you really can settle in for a good long play session.
P. S.
Again in last month - best customer service ever. Gentleman very knowledgeable and happy to advise with many different types of games. Give him a pay rise no matter how much he's paid!!! Best board game shop ever!
P. M.
I’m not a tabletop gamer and only play the occasional board game. I’ve been to Dice Saloon twice and found the staff to be welcoming, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I talked through the sort of game I was looking for and the recommendation I walked away with was great fun and exactly the sort of thing I was after for an evening with friends.
On top of this, after expressing interest in perhaps learning more about tabletop gaming I was told all about their evening meet ups. No snobbishness, no gatekeeping, just welcoming enthusiasm.
T. M.
I'd been in the shop a few times and looked through to the roleplaying and board game area, feeling slightly intimidated to go in, so I booked a Introduction to D&D session on their Facebook page. Had a great time. Thanks to Mark for running it.
Really friendly place. Even has table service for food and drinks and beer!
M. J.
Lovely place, I enjoy going to the back where the trading cards are and just having a chat to whoever is there whilst making poor financial decisions. I was having an awful day but an employee genuinely made my day better just by being nice and having an easy conversation.
R. W.
This place is incredible. So much choice, so much good quality gaming products. The staff were really polite, knowledgable and friendly. Seemed to know about every game that was sold - clearly passionate about what they do. I felt like anyone would be welcome regardless of their level interest in tabletop games. Some gaming shops can be really snobby to beginners - not this place :)
I was also really supprised how competitive the prices were - but I would have been willing to pay more anyway to support the hobby. Try to support small local game shops like this rather than the Internet juggernaut amazon.

This is the new dice saloon! This is really lovely and a really good place to play board games. You can pretty much play any game here and the staff are always really accommodating. There is also food and drink here, but you are not allowed to bring your own. ♡♡
A. V. (.
Great selection of board games, relaxing atmosphere, food is not bad, they do close a little early.
A. P.
Attended a Pokémon pre-release event here in May. Loads of space to battle and very well organised. Plenty of product to buy.
K. S.
Lovely venue, great tables and terrain and very friendly staff.
The cafe isn't as good as before. The table service is really inefficient and they don't stock stuff they used to like bars of chocolate.
D. M.
Great place to play tabletop and role playing games.
I have traveled down to the Dice Saloon a few times and the staff are always friendly and helpful. All the staff I have spoken to are passionate about games and very knowledgeable, recommending many fun new games.
Food and drink is reasonably priced. Not the most extensive menu but it tastes great.
There is and extensive collection of house games for you to play. The shop is well stocked for board games and other table top supplies.
S. S.
Superb place. Great games, pizza, local beers and service. So good I took the kids 2 days later!
O.
Fantastic place for some warhammer 40k. Great terrain variation, friendly staff etc
J. B.
The place is a decent size with rooms for certain games. Long tables for table top games like Warhammer 40K and the like. Booths for smaller games and card games like Magic the gathering. They also have a video games room where there is about 16 PCs, xbox, PS4 and two SNES mini consoles to play. They have a place by the entrance to order food and drinks and you can also purchase things like paints for models, board games of all kinds and their expansions. The staff are friendly and helpful.
S. C.
People are very friendly and happy to help, great prices and much better atmosphere then games workshop. Also their new location is much better now in London Rd. It will definitely be my place to go for any Warhammer/board game purchases.
J. M.
The knowledge of the staff members is second to none! Very helpful today with selecting the perfect boardgame for me and my family to play on holiday (Mysterium!)
M. P.
Games are £0.5-£1 cheaper than on Amazon and you can also play from their library to try some games beforehand or just when you forgot your copy at home. Very friendly staff and patrons, I love to come here and at any day in a week the place is full of people playing games. It really is awesome place.
H. P.
Amazing play space, friendly staff, digimon product and surprisingly smelt really nice +rep
D. O. B.
Great selection and service in the shop and a vast collection of games to play out the back if you rent a table for £6. The staff were very helpful at recommending games for my family. Also, loved the pizzas!
C. E.
Friendly, clean and well stocked! Great food and service
P. G. G.
This might be one of my favourite places on earth. Great selection in their library. Cool game store.
The staff is next level friendly and accommodating. This is the best location yet!!!!
J. A.
Super friendly staff, lots of games to choose from, and the hot chocolate was delicious
G. W.
Absolutely amazing gaming venue, well priced and really positive atmosphere. Great for some evening games or weekend fun!
M. R.
Amazing and helpful staff. Smaller mtg section than I would have liked but they are still setting all up :) great range of warhammer and 40k and the board game selection is vast and great
C. L.
Lovely venue, cleans and tidy. Fantastic selection of games for all ages. Great selection of snacks and the pizzas are amazing.
S. V.
The online shop has a clear library of available games (and whether they are in / out of stock)
Complete an online order and then pick up directly from the lobby area of the building, or, a reasonably priced courier delivery to your door.
I collected from their office and they replied promptly to all requests, collection was easy, game was in perfect condition.
Zero complaints
The google location is currently their old office space, so double check the current location (either way it's only next door) and it's very easy to find.
Thanks again!
J. V.
Amazing. Wonderfull selection of wargames and boardgames, litterlay everything plus ranges I had never heard of. All the favoruites plus loads you will want, I could of spent a years salary here. The paints blew me away with a good airbrush selction and all the top brands. From streaking grime to kids dice. I didnt even get the chance to rent and play a game, maybe next holiday
Y. V.
Amazing selection, including a few obscure board games
N. G.
Insane selection of games, reasonably priced vs online sellers and super helpful and knowledgeable when we wanted some help with Arkham horror!
If you're new or not it's a great place 👌
S. C.
Nice array of stock and friendly staff who will help but never pressure you into anything. Lots of space filled with gaming tables for wargaming and other areas for smaller games and card games. You can even get tea and a pizza, or snacks, so you don't need to venture out... Great idea, especially for tournaments.
D. D.
Good place. Friendly staff. Amazing gaming space. Support this store.
D. K.
Geek heaven. Looking for D&D stuff or players, look no more. Interested in card games of all sorts? Or do you prefer board games? Maybe you are into miniwargaming, either way this place has it all. Shop with handy discount, very friendly and geek-stuff-knowing staff along with plenty of gaming tables make this place Heaven on Earth, oh, did I mentioned they DO pizza with cool geeky names? Look no further, this place is amazing!
D. C.
First time I came in here staff were friendly, approachable and happy to help. There is a huge selection of games of all types, there is something for everyone. Computers and game consoles available to rent and a small cafe with a range of snacks and drinks.
Thank you to the Dice Saloon team who were very helpful and had an in-depth knowledge of all the games there. Will certainly be visiting again soon.
G. S.
Great place to hang out and play board games or TTRPG's with friends. Open booths and private rooms available for larger groups at very reasonable rates. A small variety of food and drink is available on site. The only thing to be aware of is that the advertised pizzas are only available before 5PM. Otherwise many a great sessions have been played here and our group will be back for many more!
P. T.
This is a great place to come & play board games & tabletop games. Pretty good location & quite big inside, although a reservation is advised as it does get busy. Only a 4* - they serve food, but do not have a great selection, & are definitely not a first choice for anyone with specific dietary requirements. Other than that, an amazing hub for gaming.
N. B.
You know what; it is a pretty damn good space for table and digital gaming and the staff have always been.polite, helpful, friendly, and available. I wish more towns had spaces like this
R. S.
Big place with lots of tables with a good selection of board, card, tabletop, and TTRPG games. Seems like they're decently priced (Seemed a ~10% discount on Games Workshop for instance). It does have a bit of a warehouse feel to it, so not quite making it as a board game cafe.
S. K.
4/10/20 Update: Please note everyone, Dice Saloon have moved to a new location at 88 London Road, just waiting for my Maps edit to be approved. They currently only have the store open but are working on getting the back area up and running.
A games shop located near Brighton station, selling board games, cards, figurines and others and also has an area where you can get together and play some games.
The games selection they have is quite good at prices to rival even Amazon, plenty of different categories to choose from, though it would be nice if it was ordered in some way.
They so sell food and drink here too but not tried it, though when I see the food being carried past me, it does seem to always smell nice.
I. “. C.
Excellent place to chill out and enjoy tabletop gaming. Really slick outfit and I love coming here.

My two kids (10 & 13) and I went for the first time to the family day. We were a bit nervous as so many people were there and they all appeared to know every game but the staff were amazing. Super welcoming and so happy to help with all our questions and proactively giving advice. Not only will the kids and I go back to family day, I may even brave a solo visit 🙂 thank you dice saloon 👍
A. R.
Lovely shop and meeting space for nerds of all kinds! The Staff are friendly and agreeable, the atmosphere is cheerful and pleasant as are the various board game and rpg groups that meet here! Equally, the pizza is wonderful and I wholeheartedly reccomend the cashew cream!!!
D. B.
First visit today and loved it. Friendly staff (who even gave my kids some free dice to “get them hooked early”!).
Loved watching people painting their miniatures, others playing various games, and so much to look at and peruse through, and all in such a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Having somewhere we could buy snacks and a drink from was also a huge bonus.
Looking forward to the next visit!!
P. C.
This place is brilliant. If your into MTG, Warhammer, Pokemon, board games and everything in between this is the place for you. You can rent amazing tables designed for Warhammer ect, TCGs and more. They do pizza and other hot and cold food, friendly staff and great service and prices.
K. G.
EDIT: They have moved location since I wrote my initial review. The shop is bigger and better stocked and the playing spaces are now huge. It's easier to find and you no longer need special access to enter. There is now an expanded food menu that includes some tasty looking pizzas, although I haven't tried them yet.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Dice Saloon is an excellent games shop with a wide selection of board games, rpgs, and wargames, and reasonable prices.
On most days -- unless there's a tournament going on -- there is plenty of space to sit and play, from the free booths to the larger gaming tables that can be rented for a small price. There's also a growing library if you want to drop in and play something new.
As I mentioned above, the venue hosts plenty of tournaments and events.
The staff are friendly and helpful and are always happy to chat about the games you and they are playing, and without giving you the hard sell treatment.
My only criticisms are that it's not the easiest place to find -- you have to be buzzed in from a generic entrance -- and that there's not much of a vegetarian food selection; the first is out of Dice Saloon's control, more or less, but I hope to see the menu expand in future.
It's not the fanciest games shop I've been into but it's one of the most friendly and welcoming and I pop in whenever I can.
P. S.
The drinks were cheap, was good value for money and really nice atmosphere! :)
J. “. S.
Really nice selection of dice, which I was admittedly mostly there for, they also had loads of miniatures and other games. In fact there were many more minis than I thought there would be. Fellas behind the counter were really friendly and great to chat with!
T. D.
A very friendly and accepting atmosphere that really helps to feel welcome. The staff always seem happy to help and offer up an opinion without pressuring you to buy things you don't want. Definitly a local store and place to game that you would want to support. Their library of rentals is pretty high, just make sure you buy food in store.
J. M.
This is my first visit since the relocation. It's a lot nicer than the last place.
Pizzas are good, lovely to see a couple of vegan options on the menu.
The toilets are a bit small (gents anyway) but there's not a lot you can do about that I suppose.
The new venue smells a lot nicer than the old place but there's still the odd customer that should be a bit more considerant with their personal hygiene.
Booking is highly recommended. Prices are very reasonable.
The venue can be a bit of a maze on your first visit!
A. P.
Great place for all your board game needs. Tournaments are regually held. Tea, Coffee, soft drinks are served up. LAN PC gaming also here. Great place.
G. A.
Out of the way, but once you are inside the venue it is like a wonderland. Great for a casual shopper as well as collectors and people looking for a place to play competitive tabletop games. The inclusion of a small bar with a small selection of food is ingenious.
A. S.
Excellent hidden gem for gamers, found a mini I was after and a boardgame I didn't know I needed..
K. T.
Lovely staff, amazing selection of board games and good drinks available!
A. V.
Super friendly place to hang out and play some games. A big library of board games which can be borrowed for a small fee, or bring your own. Also great coffee and cake. Games also sold at prices often lower than Amazon!
S. W. V.
Great selection of board games to purchase and play - haven't actually played any tabletop here but there's always a bustling crowd of regulars welcoming all to join. Hope they find a similarly good space when the redevelopment of the area begins
G. D.
The place looks "creepy" from the street but you should not judge a book by it's cover :) You into boardgames? Definitely worth a visit if you want to play some games (you van reserve a table and the pizza is delicious :)) or if you want to buy a new piece for your collection.
R. B.
This is an interesting place if you're into gaming. They have a vast selection of games and a space that can accommodate groups of various sizes from small to quite large. Cafe with soft drinks and snacks, even pizza! Would recommend
I. S.
Lovely vibe in the new saloon. Nice and open and more airy than the last. Tables are spacious as well.
F. C.
A wonderful shop! Lovely staff, atmosphere AND they sell the warhammer cheaper than at games-workshop!!
B. A.
Huge library of board games that can be borrowed for a small fee per table. Cosy place to hang out and play games. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Great cake and tea selection. Plus they also sell board games.

A converted workshop that serves as a tabletop gaming shop and a gaming hall. There is is also a limited selection of food, including pizza for customers, which makes it a great place to spend a good portion of your time enjoying a gaming session with your fellow gamers.

Roll for initiave. You find yourself in the best place you could possibly have visited and all your dreams have come true....what do you do next. 5 stars.

Super welcoming, loads of choice. Great people. Had loads of fun getting back into Magic after two decades absence. Can't wait to get back down there.
D. G.
Great shop for games, figures and paints. With space to play your games and a library of other games to play there is always plenty to do. They also serve food and drink. Everything you need to game under one roof.
O. B.
Amazing space to play and socialise in, huge range of stock, knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff, tasty food and drink and really good prices. Fully recommend to anyone who likes tabletop games!

Great selection of games to buy and to rent to play there. Nice coffee friendly staff would love a changing table to make it easier as a new parent.
F. K.
Lots of big tables for gaming of all kinds, plus amazing pizza, they even have a couple of vegan pizzas that in my opinion are better than some actual pizza restaurants
D. M.
Lovely big space with loads of tables, just got a bit warm towards the end of the day.
n.
Very reasonably priced games and a wide selection too, cheaper than most shops in town. Friendly, helpful staff. Only 4 out of 5 as the interior could do with some attention, it’s still “industrial“ looking but that probably will change over time
V. S.
Great staff and environment. Have a blast every time I go there! Good selection of drinks and snacks, also cheap retail price for games and whatnot.
P. M.
Awesome friendly staff always on hand for advice vast range of miniatures, board games, role-playing games plus AMAZING PIZZA all hand cooked as well all in all an awesome place to shop and hang out with a huge gaming space for a wide variety of games and tables
E. B.
Quite disappointed that a shop called "Dice Saloon", which had a range of Roleplay books only had about 3 sets of dice to buy (all variants of blue).
Having said that, they have a good selection of board games & small games and will be going back to rent from their library.
J. C.
loved it! and the guy working was so friendly and knowledgeable!! 100% worth a visit
R. D.
Very nice place to play games, customers need to sort out their hygiene, and the place could be a little more breathable during busy times, but otherwise, the shop is amazing and extensive, the food is good, and the staff are very lovely. 9/10
D. W.
all you will ever need for gaming
J. H.
Brilliant game shop with a vast array of games to choose from. Massive gaming spaces and tables to hire for a few hours or the day. Serving food and drinks too
A. S.
Best place for games!
Everyone is super-lovely!
K. B.
A great location with an impressive library of boardgames and a good atmosphere! The staff are really friendly and helpful. And the pizza is amazing!
T. C.
This place is amazing. A unique games shop where you can play games all day, have coffee, snacks or buy more geeky games. Love this place and the atmosphere.
J. M.
You won't find a better place in town to purchase and play boardgames. Only the Alcampo Lounge can rival it as a player space, and Only Dave's Comics can rival it for a board game vendor.
This place is the real deal for board game enthusiasts in Brighton
A. v. S.
Best hobby and gaming space in the city. Fantastic range of board games and wonderful staff.
J. E.
Super welcoming, loads of choice. Great people. Had loads of fun getting back into Magic after two decades absence. Can't wait to get back down there.

Great atmosphere with a lovely community of players. Played a pre-release there as a first time visit and had a thoughly enjoyable time. Will go back soon.
I. J.
Great staff, good tea and a great selection of boardgames, card games and wargames. And somewhere to play them! It's basically the greatest place in the world. :D
H. C.
It's not fancy at all, but a great place to go for gaming and has a good selection of board games to buy or play whilst there. Cheap snacks and drinks too.
T. T.
Fantastic place for anyone interested in any kind of gaming ( board games, computer games, miniatures wargames etc). Great stuff and also great pizza with good vegan options. What's not to like?
A. M.
Great range of warhammer and dnd products. Massive playing space which is closed for now due to covid. Will make it my go to shop from now on.
A. M.
The shop has an incredible selection of games and figures. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We come from London from time to time to enjoy the shop.
J. H.
Plenty of tables, and a decent café in a gaming shop is good idea. Plus Kris runs awesome X-wing events there. :)
T. W.
Great selection of board games. Shop is well laid out and they offer a good selection of food and drink. Also the prices are very competitive for the board games
J. A.
Great place, friendly staff, excellent games selection.
Y. B.
Came down from london for the day, looking to visit and peruse the bolt action line. Managed to choose a day where the guys were moving between shops; but that was no impediment. One of the lads invited me inside (to the confusion of the other staff- building and filling shelves etc), and went looking for what I was after. Turned out I had the exact money on me- very happy customer with a sale on a day when DS wasn't technically in existence!
Cheers guys, really made my day and will definitely be back down soon for my next steps into 28mm ww2. Looking forward to the new digs.
V. A.
Really friendly welcoming staff. A noob like myself felt very looked after!
M. W.
Friendly atmosphere, and plenty of space. There is food on offer so you could spend all day in there playing board games if you wanted to.
A. M.

The Dice Saloon had a "Kids Day" the other day, with a bunch of activities aimed at getting kids involved in gaming with their parents or friends - As well as X-Wing, there were some demos for miniature painting, DnD, MtG and a bunch of other games.
A massive shout out goes to the two guys from the Tuesday Night X-Wing group for taking time out of their Saturday to demo X-Wing to a load of people that day. Good job lads!
I'd also like to point out that I brought my boy down, who promptly blew up a poor Epsilon Sqd. Pilot...
Bloody 4 year olds... I'll never hear the end of this...
l.
Great place. perfect for all games.
I play MTG there and I can be guaranteed to get a good game of any format
G. G.
