Very good instillation and product, fires and surrounds aren't cheap things so for me it was reassuring that they delivered and installed the product to a high degree and spec as promised.

Grate Fireplaces were recommended to us by a local tradesman. We found them professional and friendly throughout: keen without being pushy. They engaged with us well and suggested a number of gas fires and surrounds to suit our requirements, as well as advising potential pit falls for some we initially looked at. They accommodated unforeseen changes to the schedule with no fuss and little delay. I was grateful they took care of all the work from beginning to end - I only had to deal with one company. All work was carried out to an excellent standard and all four fitters we dealt with were first class. The chimney sweep they recommended and the plasterer they used were both very good: punctual and very tidy. The end result is stunning - a true centre piece of a large scale refurbishment

A fIrst class service from start to finish. We were very impressed with their large showroom in Portslade, with a wide selection of gas and electric fires and fireplaces, all working. Following the advice on their website, I had gone equipped with photographs and measurements and so Paul was quickly able to offer different quotes and help with our selection. Dates were set there and then for a survey visit, and for knocking out and then installation. Paul kept us updated with developments and everything went according to plan. All involved were fully competent, knowledgeable and experienced, as well as being nice, friendly people, and they did a brilliant job. We are now the proud, happy owners of a good-looking fireplace and gas fire, the centre piece of our home.

I need to correct a recent post I published about carbon monoxide poisoning at my elderly parents house. It turns out the gas fire was installed by the predecessors of the current business at Grate Fireplaces and was not their responsibility. I am sorry for any wrong inference I made that they were responsible. It was their predecessors. The current owners could not have been more helpful in investigating this for us and were extremely kind and understanding about our situation.
