We made our annual pilgrimage to this amazing shop this week, if we lived closer it would certainly be more often! The welcome we always receive from Mark + David is amazing, they are so passionate and knowledgeable about their stock and they will spend as much time as you need explaining the history and relevance of any item you wish to look at, so you know exactly what you are buying. You will be treated in the same way if you are browsing or buying. There have been comments previously about the high prices but when you are buying such a work of art you get what you pay for, and some of these items are museum quality. A well deserved 5*

This place is incredible. A proper hidden gem & one of (if not the best) shops in Brighton. A miniature museum that had me astounded with the items they had in this place. Genuine samurai armour, battle swords from British wars in the 1100’s and a stone axe used by sapiens 300,000 years ago?! All for sale but at a pretty penny of course, but it’s well worth the look around (some souvenirs were for sale though such as war tokens from the 70s for a £1 which we bought). The two guys (I didn’t catch their names) had a crazy amount of knowledge about the things in their shop and history in general. Definitely a couple of very intelligent, friendly and passionate men & they explained to me and my girlfriend, in length, facts about the Second World War & some of the secrets of it. Definitely worth a visit. I can’t wait to go there again. Thank you for being one of the main highlights of our trip. We didn’t stop talking about our visit

This is jam-packed, full of history and weaponry. There is too much to look at in one sitting, items ranging from something that will fit in your hand, to a rifle or a sword. It’s hard to walk around with more than a couple of other people in there, forget about social distancing in here. The staff member I spoke to was a lovely chap, helped me straight away. I think this shop could do with a bigger space, to make it more reasonable to navigate. The prices are quite high, so be careful when picking things up. I might pop back when I have a smaller waist and deeper pockets.

We can not thank Mark enough they helped us identify a sword found in our family garden, our son is now planning a presentation at his school to discuss its origins and how it found its way to a garden in Thornbury. Thank you Mark your amazing

My wife and I always enjoy our visits with the opportunity to chat with Mark and David. We have purchased a number of antique items over the years all of which have pride of place at home. Their knowledge and enthusiasm is well known and respected.
This new, modern website perfectly complements their exciting shop and its amazing large and diverse collection of antiques.
The bright red building in the Lanes is Unique.

Captivating shop and website and very welcoming, whether you are just curious/browsing, making a first purchase or a more seasoned collector - I have been all three. The owners are true enthusiasts - there is no "hard sell" and no condescension. So ask questions or for suggestions or recommendations - the owners' knowledge on antique arms is encyclopedic. Display space in the shop is a little limited and so cannot do full justice to the stock on the website, so again ask

Without doubt the best Antique Militaria Arms & Armour shop in the UK if not Europe. The brothers are simply amazing in their history, their knowledge of Japanese Weaponry in second to none. I travel the world in my line of business and I have never been anywhere like it before. I just went back to see their amazing selection of 1st Edition books, utterly incredible, I really want their Ist impression Great Gatsby! but it just sold. I am now thinking on their Charles Dickens Ist Ed. Christmas Carol, not seen one in 20 years.

Great antique shop with an amazing selection of Samurai swords and other collectable items. The staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable and are always happy to help and offer advice. If your are looking for British and eccentric then pay this place a visit. It is located in the beautiful and historical 'Lanes' area of Brighton which is an added bonus!

Fascinating historical armoury collection. Some items dating from the BC all the way through to modern era. Take your time reading the descriptions of items, it's like a mini history lesson.
The Gentlemen staff were very friendly and helpful.

I didn't actually buy anything but this shop is great. The have a really good variety of antique weaponry from reasonably priced to really expensive rare and very old weapons. I would definitely recommend dropping in and having a look if you are in the area. Also the chap in the shop was really helpful.

A great place to browse arms and armour from around the world. Most at a fair price.

Amazing place to visit. More of a museum than shop! My son was disappointed as most things were too expensive to purchase.

Fabulous shop located in the quirky Lanes. I was mesmerized at the shop window. By far the most interesting shop in the lanes.

(Translated) Weapon shop. From Western to Japanese. We also sell armor and cannons. I don't know if it has a blade, but you can buy a Japanese sword for about £ 500.
Touch is not possible, but shooting is welcome. A small but interesting shop.
