Reviews of Books For Amnesty
A. W.
OK, I have to admit I am biased as I do volunteer here but this is a real treasure trove for book lovers. Great selection, a relaxing atmosphere and informative staff. Also, Tracey the manager is excellent at her job.
W. M.
Great place to find great writer books with very little cost.. these kind projects add great values to human life.
A. S.
One of my favourite 2nd hand book shops.
V. A.
A book lovers' paradise. Wonderful books at great prices. Please make sure you take a large shopping bag with you and go when you have a few hours to spare for browsing.
L.
My favourite shop in the whole world. You can eventually find nearly any book you want if you keep popping in, and loads of great books you didn't know existed; all very reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and the proceeds go to Amnesty. Whats not to like?
j. g.
Great 2nd hand book shop - brilliant selection and reasonably priced. Buying books and getting money to an extremely worthy and relevant cause - win win.
J. R.
Well organised Amnesty charity shop, for specifically books, DVDs, vinyls and CDs. You need to book a drop-off on a Tuesday for delivery on a Thursday or Friday; no casual visits to donate.

I've donated a lot of my books to this shop in the last two years, and may well do so again in the future. It's a great place to browse in and to buy from, and of course monies raised go to a great cause! Who knows, you might end up with something that used to be on one of my shelves!

Great selection of used books at good prices. Best bookshop in Bristol
E. W.
By far my favourite place to find stories to fall in love with! Not only are the staff and volunteers absolutely lovely and full of knowledge and the book selection huge, interesting and easy to navigate, but you also know your money is going to a great cause! Couldn't recommend more highly, a brilliant little haven on Gloucester Road.
F. A.
Excellent charity bookshop with a good range of second hand books on many subjects. They have especially good fiction, literature and poetry sections at reasonable prices. Certainly worth visiting if you are in the area.
C. B.
Nice books, good staff and a great charity
R. C.
It's hard for me to walk past without going in as the stock turns over so quickly there is something new that I want every time I go in. The staff are lovely and are happy to watch my bags as I browse the shelves. There are a great selection of text books for university students and the prices are so much more reasonable than most second hand bookshops.
T. S.
A well stocked second hand bookshop. Most novels are around £2. Guaranteed to pick up a good read. Non fiction and kids books in front and adult fiction in back. Novels are alphabeticised making for easy browsing.
A. “. W.
For a second hand book shop, the vast majority of books are of a very high quality, looking barely used. They have a wide selection of books covering all topics I can think of. The staff, as far as I am aware are all volunteer and are incredibly friendly and helpful. The shop is a testament to Amnesty's operations, shoping here not only provides for a fantastic cause, it is also enjoyable and inexpensive.
H. S.
Great range of used books across a wide variety of categories, mostly nice and cheap but including a section for collectibles/first editions as well. And they're happy to take card payments even for small amounts.
S. W.
This place should carry a health warning! I aways come out with more books than I intended! A top notch range of books at least in the cooking, history and sci fi sections. Ensure you bring a heavy duty bag to transport your purchases home!
C. E.
Wonderful selection of reasonably priced second hand books all listed alphabetically by author. Helpful staff and all for charity. I visit every time I am in Bristol.
a. P.
Massive book shop selling fiction, non fiction small range of DVDs and some vinyl too.well stocked range of subjects and it's all for a good cause. Keep an eye out for when they have a sale ,some real bargains to be had
A. B.
Volunteers are either friendly, terrified of contact or just darn rude. However, the shelves offer up tomes you might just be looking for. Music manuscripts and languages are in the damp basement. It's one of the institutions of Glos Rd.

This is a great book shop with such a large collection. Its all well priced so you always feel like your getting a deal.
C. D.
It has a wonderful range of books some of which you would not be able to track down in other bookshops. There is also a website, Abebooks with more collectible and valuable items. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere too
A. L.
This bookshop has been around for a while, and when I am running short on reading materials (mainly fiction and novels) I go hear
prices are reasonable
Staff are volunteers and it is a well stocked shop and there is a list up of where all the categories are and it is in alphabetical order
Buy a bargain and support a charity at the same time
R. L.
Good selection of books but really cramped and the volunteers are always so miserable, which seems a shame. It's so cramped you can't really browse as someone is always about to push you out the way
S. J.
Good range of books, for very little money. New stock fairly often. Going back each week seems to provide new finds.
V. B.
Wide selection of used books. The shop staff were very friendly. A great book shop.
S. H.
Fantastic shop, I very rarely leave without buying at least one book, but at least I can take them back again once I have read them.
B. C.
Great shop. Great books. There's a couple of staff that can be quite officious which stops me making it a 5
O. M.
It’s much bigger than it looks and has a really good stock and very friendly crew. Highly recommend it, also a coffee and bakers a couple of doors to the left
S.
Lovely selection but strangely having no Human Rights section despite it being listed as Section 15, Sec. 15 only had business books instead.
C. S.

(Translated) It is my favorite place to find small literary treasures at a really good price, while you collaborate with a good cause. The volunteer staff is always very friendly and they do not hesitate to lend a hand when you are looking for something in particular. My son loves this place and the corner of books for the little ones. We always find several books for your collection!

(Translated) A good bookstore with a variety of topics and ages. There are both children's books and books for adults. All books are in good condition. Store employees help you find what you need if you contact them.
