Excellent model shop with friendly knowledgeable staff. Opening hours are listed on their website, and are currently certain weekdays only. They have a good range of stock in the shop, and you can order online and collect in store to avoid postal charges.

I have used Model Railways Direct several times over the years and cannot fault the service. I use mail order via the website as I am not local to the shop. I placed an order for some Hornby coaches on Sunday afternoon and they arrived via Royal Mail in less than 48 hours. Well packed. Many thanks again. :) They offer a vast range of model railway products from all the major manufacturers and the prices are competitive. There are Sales and Special Offers from time to time where good discounts can be found. Highly recommended and you will not be disappointed.

So impressed with Model Railways Direct. I've purchased off them many times and not once have I been disappointed, in fact it's 5 star service every time. Their website is the best out there. It's quick, easy to use, and great for finding what you are looking for quickly. What's more if they say they have the item in stock they actually do, which is a lot more than certain Sheffield based retailers do (don't get me started). Delivery is speedy. Items are well packed. Simply the best! Once this COVID thing is over I'm determined to visit their shop even though it's over 200 miles away. Awesome work. Really well done!

Prices were good and delivery very quick. I've just knocked a star off due to poor choice of courier. I would rate the courier one star. I had to pay £10 for courier delivery due to the size of the item, the courier delivered today when I was out all day and left the package on my doorstep, not hidden at all, not under anything to shield from the rain, just right on my step which is literally on the pavement so not even hidden from the road. Box was soaked through and falling apart, so much for presenting it in the box as a gift. It was there all day as I only got back from work at 7pm. This wasn't a cheap delivery that I'd want stolen from my doorstep! I couldn't order again knowing this could happen without leaving instruction to the courier. I appreciate most couriers want to leave parcels rather than try again but there are so many discreet places to hide it that other places have used, I don't know why they would think it is okay to just leave it there.

I found out about this company after seeing their advert in a Model Railway magazine. I have not personally purchased any items from them myself but my brother swears by them. I signed up for their newsletter and always pass it onto him. He has purchased a number of items from them including their Flash Sale items. Have bought on line from this retailer previously but as I was in Bristol while on holiday and took the chance to visit in person. Met Jo who was running the shop when I visited. What an array of model railway items I was left to browse at my leisure with no pressure to purchase. They have a good stock from all the major companies. I got a few things I was looking for could have been tempted to buy more but was able to restrain myself. Defiantly worth a visit if in the area but you can also buy on line and subscribe to their mailing list.

Great shop tucked away in a housing estate. There is so much in stock there I was truly amazed. They have a large assortment of everything from buildings to mini figures to trains and scenic supply's. This is a highly recommended visit for anyone in to not just train modelling but also scenic modelling. Only issue not down to them is I can be a bit of an issue parking but there is some customer parking out the front

I recently purchased a Hornby R3623 Queen Elizabeth, from this company best price on the net. Unfortunately when it arrived it was faulty. This was no fault of this company, but poor quality control from Hornby in China. I asked for a refund. They dealt with the issue promptly and efficiently. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

Went there on my Holiday trip ( 2014 ). I have been to many modeltrain stores arround the world, and this one is one of the best. Its not very big, but they have all you need. I bought a Class 37, three loco kits and a few buildings ( 120€ ). The staff is very friendly too.

They are having a sale on until the end of May wanted to get Bachmann Birdcage coaches in late BR livery and they have them in stock for around £41 which is a great saving on the list price also had in stock a suitable decoder which was suitable for Adams radial tank loco and they were very helpful with advice on how to fit it as the space is very tight on this particular loco
