Reviews of Salvation Army

I shop here regularly as I love charity shops. This is the flagship Salvation Army store for Bristol and it's very big. There is a decent women's wear section, menswear and always lots of reasonably priced children's clothes. However, I find a lot of items are ridiculously over-priced, particularly well known brand names. I know they are trying to make money for charity but there needs to be an even ground. I see items hanging around for weeks because they're over-priced. That being said, I have still found some good bargains and will continue to shop here.

Like other people's comments, I agree- the clothes are a bit ropey and mostly, though not completely, feel like they should be in one of those bargain last chance - everything £2-3 charity shops, as many of the clothes are older style or poor/heavily worn condition (and sometimes obviously stained/ dirty). There are occasionally quality bargains to be had but I agree with others, they'd shift a lot more if they generally priced clothing lower (except where something genuinely is in good condition and is a pricey quality brand). I have a look in here if I'm passing but wouldn't make a deliberate journey for the clothes, it's just not a nice experience. Shame really, could be so much better.

Fair selection of stuff.. They accept most donations. You can find books, toys, kitchen essentials and home furniture. There is a small clothing section too. Reasonable value

Love this shop! If you want good bedding at great prices this is the place. Also cheap furniture, dvd's, kitchen stuff and kids toys. The clothes have never grabbed my attention, they seem a bit dated but for everything else, top marks!

Love it. Great products used and at great prices. Love The Salvation Army, they do such great work. My dad worked in a Salvation Army hostel for a period of about 4 or so years, He loved it.

I love this shop, all its eclectic good condition items. I like the happy staff and friendly atmosphere. My only thing is prices are going up, not sure I agree with this scenario. When does a charity with free donations cease to be a charity and become a business?

Just browsing in here but very large shop with lots of good quality stuff including decent furniture. Worth a visit.

Staff are really friendly, but they appreciate people who are willing to volunteer, they try so hard to make it the best charity shop.
