When an unnamed, but ‘never knowingly undersold’ store advised me that the only way I could reduce their £9,415 carpet quote was to choose a lesser quality carpet and take up and remove my old carpet myself, I felt it was time to move on. It was the best move I made. I sent the store quote/specification to Tailored Flooring Ltd, with blanked-out prices, and they came back with a price of £8,655 - a saving of £760. I subsequently placed the order with Tailored Flooring Ltd and they carried out the work to my complete satisfaction. I can only describe their finished job as ‘faultless’ and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Darren Taylor and the entire Tailored Flooring team to anyone.

Tailored Flooring saved our bacon and did a better job than I could have imagined possible with our kitchen and bathroom flooring. We were due to have kitchen flooring fitted, so the kitchen was emptied, all appliances disconnected and completely unusable, and the fitter we had booked let us down the morning they were due to fit. I was in a complete panic as I had property valuations booked for the end of the week before which the kitchen and bathroom flooring had to be completed. Within an hour of leaving a message with Tailored Flooring, Darren had called me back and said he would be with me within the hour to see what he could do. Exactly as promised, he attended, measured and talked me through what he could do for us. It turned out we'd selected completely inappropriate flooring (soft vinyl in a huge, heavily used kitchen), and Darren guided us through better options available to us. To cut a long story short, he went out of his way to jiggle us into the schedule, order materials and the next day his fitter, Grant, was working on our flooring. The fitter, Grant, is a master. He was very tidy and careful (given the rest of our home is cream carpets), he worked quietly and very quickly. Each evening he tidied everything away. When it came to fitting the Karndean tiles, he talked me through the different options of laying them (brick style etc.) and also made his own recommendations from his experience. He measured the placement of the tiles to ensure there weren't any odd shaped tiles and when the job was complete it exceeded all our expectations. We managed to get everything straightened out at home in readiness for the property valuations, and two estate agents who had previously valued our home commented on the positive updates to the flooring. Also, they have recently moved to a beautiful show room on Alma Road which I walked past before they opened and had admired through the windows. If you want some inspiration, then definitely pop in for some very good quality, well merchandised and easy to browse carpets and flooring. I am really looking forward to using Tailored Flooring again for our next home.

Darren and his team did a wonderful job installing our stair runner and landing carpet. We wanted something bright and quirky for the hallway, and Darren pointed us towards a Liberty print wool carpet by Alternative Flooring. As it was custom-made, we also got to choose the orange whipping for the edges. The fitters were courteous & professional, and left the place spotless. We’re very happy with the results, and will definitely be using Tailored Flooring again!

Very professional service. We requested a few quotes from different flooring shops in Bristol, and we were very impressed with the professionalism of Tailored Flooring. They turned our quote around on the same day, whilst other companies took over a month to do so. We needed a carpet fitter, at very short notice, after our carpenters had finished installing fitted bookshelves. We needed our carpet fitted properly around the new furniture. Darren helped us with our flooring (in Redland) when another contractor delayed us++ with quotes. The floors are amazing (including herringbone). Paul and his team are very professional and skilled! Everyday the house was left clean after they left, and at the end of the job Paul ensured that all the finishing touches were done as we requested. They even helped us move our washing machine on the new floor (to avoid scratching) so that a new pipe could be fitted. I cannot recommend Tailored flooring enough. EXCELLENT!

We engaged Darren’s team to install carpets in three rooms and relay our old wooden floors in two rooms. The first aspect of their work that struck us was the team’s professionalism, including their punctuality, cleanliness and self-sufficiency. They worked over at ours for two weeks as the work was quite involved and labour intensive. The carpet team arrived on the first day and set out their plan to us clearly. They worked to their plan and flexed the schedule for a contingency. We didn’t really need to worry about anything. The flooring team arrived the second week, and they were exactly as wonderful as the carpet team. The consistency of their performance and the quality of finish is commendable. I would highly recommend the Tailored Flooring team to anyone and we would use them again.

With a major remodelling our of house we engaged Darren from Tailored Flooring early on, to get his advice and discuss our options. In the end we choose to go with two Carpets (Lounge & Bedroom), Karndean flooring in the Utility Room and a rubber block floor in the Workshop. Darren's experience and expertise was superb at guiding us through the options and making our final choices. His fitting team were on time, courteous and did an excellent job. As is the case with such a big project the timescales were challenging and Darren was flexible and accommodating. We are delighted with all four rooms and have no reservations in recommending Tailored Flooring.

I used Tailored flooring to fit new flooring in my kitchen (Karndean), and carpet throughout the rest of the house. It's a project that took me just over a year, doing each room separately. Darren and team were so accommodating, great value for money and generally really nice guys. They allowed me to buy the carpet in one go,and store it with them until we were ready to have it fitted. They have their own team of fitters and were so flexible in arranging fitting, I'm not sure you'd get that with a national company. They were really good value for money, as I'd done my research and also got other quotes. All in all I'm really pleased, the carpet looks fabulous and I'd definitely use Tailored flooring again.

Darren and the team at Tailored Flooring installed our wood parquet floor in the hall, oak boards in the kitchen and carpeted throughout the house. They provided a first-class, highly knowledgeable and professional service. We didn't want any thresholds in the carpet and Darren took special care supervising the seams himself. Paul did a great job installing the wood parquet and oak boards. We are impressed with the beautiful finish around the stairs and the thresholds. Tailored flooring had supplied great carpets some years ago so we went back to them to explore our options. When we saw the parquet flooring we fell in love with it. It was fitted to our hall and landing floors and the steps down to the kitchen. The result was magnificent. We loved it so much that we extended the parquet to two large reception rooms. The quality of fitting is excellent and they overcame the challenges presented due to varying levels between rooms and large gaps between the floor and the skirting boards. Can’t recommend highly enough! We live in a converted 18th century store house just outside of Chepstow. We had saved to have a real wood floor (Oak) laid in the oldest part of the property. This was a complex undertaking with damp proof membrane required and difficult shaped stone walls to negotiate. We contacted several companies for quotes. Some wouldn’t touch it, others came back with ridiculous costs. We contacted Tailored Flooring in Bristol on their social media recommendations in the hope they could help. Best thing we did and can’t thank them enough! The owner came out within days to measure up and quote. Samples were delivered to our door for us to choose from and discuss (always at the end of the phone.) Flooring was agreed and time scale was amazing. Two highly knowledgeable and curtious fitters worked tirelessly over a short few days to fit a damp proof membrane and install the floor. They cleared up after themselves, removed all waist and old carpets/floor boards and were carful not to disturb my dogs and young children. There was some extra work involved beyond what was quoted as the floor was very uneven but the quote didn’t change. The finished floor is utterly beautiful and far beyond what I had dared to hope for considering the difficult task of working in such an old property. Can’t thank these guys enough, have recommended to local friends and will absolutely use again.
