Quite expensive I think but Pets at Home usually is. Staff are friendly. I was looking for food for my Gecko and the only worms they had, most were dead. The did restock and I managed to get some a week later.

Find that you can check if stuff is in stock at the Arnison center. Website will tell you it is but never can be found in the store. Staff are always friendly and try and help find stuff but sometimes stuff seems to have been stolen etc. Could do with more staff on shop floor and tills, in general. Hard finding someone when you need to.

Absolutely amazing staff we went today with Hugo the bulldog for nail clippers and the lady behind the counter said she would trim his nails for me I can not thank her enough. Even with a broken leg the lady was on the floor with Hugo triming his nails act of kindness goes along way highly recommended staff. Big thank-you from Hugo although he cried.

My jack Russell Milo had found a dead vole while out walking before I could stop him he chomped it down in a flash after checking with the vet(cost emergency consultation £55.) we went to pets at home there advice was so much better and comforting. There advice was to whatch and waight if he had problems passing it go vet. Other give him light diet lots of water fresh each time gently massage his tummy. Pamper pouch loved it up for a week.

Quite busy today, seemed quite untidy inside store and probably just with the way things are generally but quite a few empty shelves. The store is well laid out and has very good range of products. They have good covid-19 precautions including hand sanitiser, a one way system and screens at checkout. The staff a very friendly and helpful with a good knowledge base. I buy there step up to Naturals dog food and both my Springer spaniels love it. Would highly recommend.

Went there yesterday to buy gerbils and more stuff for their cage I set up the day before and the lady who helped me was amazing! She was very polite and charasmatic and handled the two babies very well. In that time I've bought ALL the equipment and food that I needed for the various beasties I've owned, If they don't sell the product it's not worth having! The COVID-19 Pandemic safety instructions are followed to the letter, well done you guys. You can get stuff for your pets online much cheaper and probably of the same standard. The likes of b&m, wilko, sell this and that much cheaper, but if your in a hurry, you need something specific and you haven't got time to go looking round ten different shops looking for the cheapest, then pets at home is probably going to be your best choice because the chances are that they'll have what your looking for. Staff are polite and reasonably trained to have a basic knowledge of the products that are selling. Obviously the store is pet friendly lol, so you can take your pet along with you.

Lots of choice and friendly staff. Hard to find a parking space at dinner time. We went to buy a hamster cage and chose the one we wanted. The assistant was just going to get it off the shelf when I asked, 'why the one next to it had water bottles in etc for the same price'. She looked at it and agreed there was some things missing so she went and got us another one. Just be carful when buying.

The usual overpriced products in a huge shop. Small local pet shops are plenty and often much cheaper. Staff are friendly and it has a good selection. OK if you're in a jam but worth visiting smaller independent pet shops.

Not much to say, it's a pet supermarket stocking pretty much everything you'd need for your chosen pet. I've a dog, Teah, and we come for the large bags of James Wellbeloved light food which I seem to struggle to get elsewhere, it's usually on offer too. You can buy pets, fish rabbits etc and they also have in house vets however I haven't used these so wouldn't like to comment further. Covid security is thorough, no mask no entry 🚫, your prompted to sanitize hands on entry and on way system to tills 👍

Fantastic Staff and plenty of choices. Even though we'd let our dog go to the loo just before entry, he felt the need to leave his mark (as they do) and when my Wife informed Staff and asked for tissue or something, the Staff just smiled and said 'thats ok, it happens all the time'; then tidied up for us, even gave our dog a treat after that. 'Service with a smile', that's exactly what you get. Can't praise these helpful Staff enough.

I decided to buy a hamster as a surprise Christmas present for my husband (and our 2 granddaughters). I had difficulty choosing a cage as there were several to choose from. However, a member of staff quickly came to my assistance, giving clear and practical advice. Thank you Tracy. Then of course came the most important decision I had to make; which hamster should I choose. Fergus assisted me with this, not an easy job when all the hamsters wanted to do was sleep. A decision was made when a very cute hamster came forward and took some carrot. I was smitten. Having been told that this was a male, I bought him. Before I left the store, I received lots of advice and a care leaflet for our new pet. A few days later I received a phone call to ask if everything was ok and was our hamster settled. Did I need any help now or a second phone call later. What good aftersales service! Two weeks after buying 'Smudge', I was cleaning his sleeping compartment and shocked to discover that we had 4 extra newcomers to the family.......yes baby hamsters! Oops! Not 'male' then. When I contacted the store, Suzanne immediately apologised for the mistake, explaining that very occasionally this can happen. I was given the option of returning the whole family to the store straight away or wait until the youngsters were weaned at 1 month. We decided on the second option as we were already quite attached to Smudge. 'She' is a wonderful little mother and we are looking forward to the youngsters emerging from the nest! We were invited to call in at the store to collect some extra food and bedding for our new family . A lovely goodwill gesture! A very big thank you for excellent service at Pets at Home Durham.

Reasonably good pet shop who are begining to get a more healthy range of grain free dog foods and EU sourced healthy dog treats/chews. No fresh or frozen bones which is a shame and they still sell roasted bones, raw hide chews and treats that are sourced in china or have iffy ingredients in. Good for other pets supplies ie. Snakes, lizards, birds, fish, rodents. Sell small mamals, reptiles birds and tropical fish.
