Reviews of Blackwell's Bookshop

HUGE Blackwell's shop, with absolutely all the different kind of books you could ever want, so many different genres and special editions of books. The board game selection is also amazing, and the staff is very friendly and happy to help you decide.

Delightful old bookshop that meanders over several floors and offers a great selection of books and games. When we visited there was a sale on with many great gift ideas at reduced prices. However, even out of sale time this bookshop is well worth a visit, for even if you have just come to browse it is more than likely you will find a gem to take away.
Staff were fantastic and there is enough space and it is set up to help with social distancing.

Always and forever, this is my favourite bookshop. It doesn't matter what you're looking for you will always find something that catches your eye and then some. A real treat for anyone who loves books or board games or just a genuiely nice shop with helpful staff.

Blackwell's is a delightful bookshop with a great variety of books and really helpful staff. There is an entire section of Scottish literature, as well as more technical references and university material on the upper floors too. If you like boardgames and similar pursuits there's a board game section in the basement, with staff who are happy to talk to you and make recommendations.

Personally I only go to Blackwell's on occasion to treat myself to a new board game. There is a lot of variation and the staff are always super helpful. As well as handwritten notes beside some of the games give a really good idea of what I'm getting myself into before I buy (and the store's monthly recommendation too).

A really lovely shop overall, with a good selection of board games and Magic decks. I didn't see much of a journal selection; would love to see this expanded. Great shop definitely worth a visit!

An amazing bookshop - with much on offer for all ages. Helpful staff who can guide you to the department that you require. Books, puzzles, games, stationery to name a few. Well worth a visit. Enjoy yourselves

Great range of books and games. Downstairs they have the Blackwell games shop, where we spent most of our time. Lots of board games, card games, RPG books and DnD things. Lots of fun! The bookshop itself is huge and has a wide range of books.

Always come in here wanting to spend money in the board games department but everything is always 20+% above online prices. Not competitive at all. I'd happily pay 5-10% above online prices for being able to see the items. Come on Blackwell's I want to give you money but not be ripped off!
