Reviews of The Treasure Trove
Very unique, high-quality hand-made goods, reasonably priced. Extremely nice staff. Best shopping experience in Edinburgh!
A “charity” shop where you will find a variety of handmade items. You can come across wonders depending on the week. Sweater, superb woolen baby blankets, crochet toys, cake or jams, a pretty surprising and nice mix!
Interesting. Good price. Missing explanations in Spanish
Truly lovely local shop filled with homemade items such as kids' clothing, stuffed animals, scarves, knitted sweaters and even homemade sweets! The shop supports low-income seniors who make the items in the shop. What a wonderful concept!
Beautiful hand made knits and knitted Teds. Not a typical charity shop full of junk. Everything is new and hand crafted. Fabulous
This place is one of Edinburgh's best kept secrets. Local people looking to earn a bit of extra money provide handmade crafts which are sold in the shop. From beautifully knitted babies cardigans and blankets, to jams and home baking, this shop sells it all.
If you're passing then it's always worth popping into, I've bought a few gifts in here, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and always happy to chat.
Truly local wares, a nice reprieve from the tourist shops. Lots of hand made items, including stuffed toys with a local flair. Like a knitted highland cow for £8 or a striped blue and white bear for less than £5 (very popular). LOTS of baby knits, mostly for little girls. Tea cosies, tartans, very affordable and definitely one of a kind. Helpful staff. The history of the store is worth reading up on.
Absolutely gutted that I didn’t know this place was a charitable group. We visited the shop after passing by and seeing a lovely 😊 Halloween 🎃 cat 🐱 in the window. We went in thinking it would cost a fortune, but was surprised 😮 when told the price. It wasn’t until we got home and showed my Daughter the item that she said those sort of things are very popular at the moment. And also very expensive!!! So, we went on Google maps to find the shop, which we did. After we’d visited the website and found out it was a charity, I was gutted. If I’d have known I’d have paid more for my item and maybe bought more. I just thought it was a knitting 🧶 shop, that sold wool etc. So please, if you read this, and you pass this shop, go in and buy something, you’re making a huge difference to someone’s life 😢
'Treasure Trove' is a perfect name for the societies shop on Castle street. Walk in and you don't know what treasures you might find! The knitwear is first class with some beautiful Fair Isle knits to be had.
Lovely shop and lovely helpful staff. If your looking for an unusual hand made gift this is the place to visit.
Love a mooch round a gift shop, shame that they all sell the same stuff, only the prices vary
