A really lovely little Edwardian library right in the heart of Govan.
Both the inside and outside of the building are absolutely gorgeous, with the marble flooring just as you enter the building being particularly lovely and really putting you in the mood.
It’s also surprising spacious with plenty of room for books and a mostly empty and quiet peaceful backroom.

Next to Elderpark this Beautiful Library is a Grade A listed building donated to the people of Govan by Isabella Elder. It holds many facilities and culture events.
Plenty of books and media content for both adults and children , they also have computers with free Internet access and printers, photocopy machines, scanners if needed for a very small fees.
Access to the Library for Disabled visitors is through a side gate up a small incline ramp is very easy.
Staff are very friendly, welcoming and are happy to help.

A fantastic local resource. Friendly and professional staff who go above and beyond to help make the Elder Park Library an important and central part of this thriving community.
The Library would potentially benefit from additional computers, as those available are frequently booked to capacity.
My only criticism is that the Library is not currently open on a Sunday, which is counter to the intentions of its benefactor, the great Isabella Elder: 'Lady Elder' gifted the building (and surrounding park) to the people of Govan for the benefit of all those who work hard during the week. As there are many locals who would make use of the building on Sundays if it were open, I would ask Glasgow City Council to reconsder this policy - and open Isabella's Library on Sundays, as she intended.

Beautifully landscaped, and peaceful in the middle of a busy city. The pond is thriving with green algie, no sign of life or ducks, which is a shame. Unfortunately the vandals are everywhere and people show no respect for the upkeep of this lovely park. Make Glasgow flourish once again in the hearing and preaching of God's Word. John 3v16

Beautiful purpose-built building, great stock and can easily order almost any book you'd like. Access to all editions of Govan Press on microfiche for local history buffs.
