Reviews of Gavin's Mill shop and cafe
E. M.
Great place to stop for an excellent coffee and a wide selection of tasty bakes. Good shop above with wide range of foods from books to toiletries, jewellery and food. Bring your own container dry goods too. A good place to shop for that small, unusual Xmas gift. I always pop in when I am in Milngavie.

What a wonderful gem tucked away in the corner of Tesco car park! This community focused veggie/vegan cafe and shop have amazing Fare Trade and ecological items, as well as being a fantastic venue for events as diverse as apple pressing, crafting, live music, author appearances and much more. There is the terrace by the river and the mill wheel (which they sometimes get turning) with outdoor tables and a bandstand for the live events. A very special place run mostly by volunteers. Love it!

Was there in courtyard for a Milngavie Week music day. Beautiful weather in beautiful surroundings. Can't comment on food or drink cos we didn't have any, but please note that there is no bar or alcoholic drinks here. Not a problem for me, but just a point of interest.

A bit pricey for the food, I'm guessing it's because of the postcode (milngavie) outside area is dog friendly that's why I gave it 3⭐️s

First time here.
Really good coffee and nice cakes.
Soup I wanted to try had sold out (coconut and pepper), so I'm guessing I missed something that's as tasty as it sounds. Need to go back and try it.
The shop is worth a visit too.
Picked up some chilli and lime chocolate.

Nice little cafe. I remember my mother working here many years ago when the mill was between two fields. Now it is at the end of a tesco carpark. Vegan options. They were ever celebrating veganuary. Staff friendly.

This is a lovely concept and the staff are lovely. The shop items are pretty pricey.

Edit: since my review, I've had an apology from the owner about table cleanliness. We will definitely be back, the food was delicious.
This gorgeous little cafe would have had a 5 star review, certainly for the food, which was absolutely delicious.
BUT we sat at a table which had been cleared but not wiped, so we moved to the next one - same! Luckily I had a pack of anti-bac wipes in my bag. There were only two other tables there, so it wasn't busy. One of the other tables, just two people, left while we were there, the table was cleared but not wiped and another couple sat down at it!! The other table left and that wasn't wiped either a after clearing, neither was the table we'd had to initially move from.
It's bad enough that the tables weren't cleaned anyway but I was appalled that in the current situation with COVID, none of these tables were wiped. I'd go back to eat, but the anti-bac wipes will be in my bag!! The boss and a new lady seemed to be working there and a young girl who seemed to know what she was doing - so 3 workers and 7 customers and not a spray or cloth in sight.
