I consider it a public library. A lot of information, and reference material availalable if you are interested in history. The friendly staffs are very essential and amazingly helpful to point you in the right directions.

Great location offering a one stop shop for researching family history and finding out about the local area. Great architecture and impressive building with lots of character. Public toilets available and the centre also has some great exhibitions featuring some interesting topics.

We went to the medieval craft event this morning and it's been brilliant. Lots of things for the kids to do and they have had a great time. The staff were warm and welcoming and very helpful. X

My experience today was not so special. I couldn't find some microfilm and the member of staff found it for me. I then was searching for 2 books which I knew I had taken out of the centre before but again I couldn't find them. The staff member also couldn't find them and I was prepared to go home and come back another day with the relevant details and said so. The member of the staff didn't take this defeat and continued to seek out my books which he eventually found filed on the wrong shelf. Oh, and of course, the information stored in this building is so vital to the history of hull that it could not be replaced. Couple that with helpful and knowledgeable staff, well, what's not to like?

BRICK HISTORY til March 2019 - Current free interesting LEGO displays (from a large 2 case Lego castle complete with internal cut out, to dinosaurs, to Vesuvius, to mid South American slavery era plantation house, to terracotta warriors, to sextent (navigation device), to industrial revolution bridge) with the Brick History display by Warren Elsmore which runs til March 2019. 20-30 Lego constructions with some written description about its place in history. Probably take 20mins to get round with reading displays (not long, but nice). Busy on a Sat. Also had Lego boxes out for children to play with in another room. Toilets. Parking outside (paid). Nice building. Coffee etc on sale.
