Great 1940's style tea room. Fantastic afternoon tea served by friendly and enthusiastic staff. Recommended!
K. (. M.
Great place for finding amazing antiques, good prices. To top of a great shop is the 1940s tea room. I would suggest booking unless you get there super early. Wonderful servers! Friendly and welcoming. Check out the picture for the decor

A trip back in time to the 1940's. Popped in for a cuppa and a scone. Very accommodating, scone was delish and warm. Great service. One of my favourite places! ❤️
P. “. B.
This is mostly an antique shop but is entertaining to browse around. We attended mostly for lunch. There's a small tea shop and the menu tends to be sandwiches, savoury pastries, cakes and teas. However, as I try to avoid carbohydrates, I had the soup which was lovely. If we were to have lunch there again, we'd definitely book as it was busy.
R. B.
What a gem, all decked out in a genuine 1940 style. The food and service was fantastic. "We'll meet again" 😊
J. B.
Booked an afternoon tea treat as part of our anniversary and what a wonderful way to spend a few hours. Bring an appetite for the afternoon tea you'll need it as they certainly don't skimp on anything. Staff are 1st rate as are the surroundings. Excellent 5*

This is a hidden gem, perfect for buying a gift for a loved one or treating yourself, with a fantastic clothing boutique, a 1950's clothing and accessories shop with hair stylist, antiques shop, garden gifts/plants shop and a tea room. It's a veritable tardis packed with loveliness!
C. W.
A fun antiques centre and a 40's style cafe with every detail thought of, including a Ration Book as a menu. Food freshly made, with good variety. Serenaded with 40's music.
f.
It's nice to have a look around there, not the cheapest prices I will say. They have a few vendors in there that arent exactly antique dealers, more like bespoke clothes. Kinda weird. Anyhow, I hear the tea room is nice and it's spread across 2 floors and the actual Shed.
J. E.
Lovely quirky setting and tasty afternoon tea was enjoyed by all of us in our party. Steep stairs can be bypassed if you have older members of your group. Staff were great and dressed in authentic 40's outfits which added to the experience. This was my fourth visit and it has never disappointed. Highly recommend!!
I. H.
Incredible place. Great range of vintage items and an upstairs show floor with high quality restored and antique furnishings. A tea room also, but I've not tried it. The traders are very knowledgeable and products with prices for every pocket. Worth half an hour just to have a look.
l. a.
Excellent place to while away a couple of hours. Great food in the wonderful 40s style café. Thoroughly recommend. Will definitely be returning 😌
S. A.
What a lovely place to visit.
Beautiful tea rooms in 40/50s vintage style, including the waitresses!
M. W.
Lots of interesting items here to browse. Excellent tea rooms, we enjoyed lunch and the best pot of earl grey I've ever tasted. Very pretty courtyard and 40s theme.
S. W.
Absolutely fabulous little gem of a cafe’ authentic 1940’s decor and the food was to die for. This is my 2nd visit and I will be back.
b. d.
Me and my mum visited the shed today for the first time ,we were very impressed we had tea and scones which was absolutely lovely, the staff where very friendly and made us feel welcome. The place is amazing with all the old fashioned furniture and the old music and the staff looked great in the old fashion clothes ,the place was very clean and the toilet was spotless. we will be returning.
T. S.
Fantastic place to find unusual vintage items and thr vintage tea room is superb with the best coronation chicken sandwich I've ever had.
L. R.
What lovely find, my friend and I were delighted to come across this little gem.
The staff were lovely, loved the little tea cosy and the ration book menu.
War time music playing and surroundings ,like stepping back in time although we were not around then; even the staff are dressed in that era .
Going to take my mother next time.
Also loved looking around the vintage items for sale, it was like a trip down memory lane, items that my grandmother had.
You must go and check it out, well worth a visit.
C. H.
What a delightful experience...lovely friendly welcome from attentive staff dressed in 1940's apparel...
. our sandwiches were delicious...thank you so much..we'll be back 😋

A little treasure. Antiques, painted furniture and modern pieces along with clothing and a cafe, my sort of heaven. We stayed for lunch and sat in the walled garden. I had jacket potato with tuna and salad, my friend had a sausage sandwich. We both enjoyed what we had to eat. (I want to go back for the luscious cakes) We also both bought clothes which were a little bit different than the high street. Well worth a visit.
P. G.
Loved the tea shop / cafe and was very envious of those having afternoon tea, looked impressive! Great 40s music in the background and perfect setting
H. g.
Lovely to go some a cafe different to everywhere else. Lots of chats with my 7 year old, bought back memories of my grandparents. Scrumpy scone and chocolate cake and friendly staff. Thanks.
V. C.
Visited the tearoom, which we love to go to and then a wander round the antiques shop, best of both worlds. Haven't visited the tearoom for sometime. They have expanded and the place looks awesome. Different staff however this time. Didn't have so much of that friendly feeling that we experienced on all our previous visits.
H. L.
Lovely menu, lovely courtyard, good value food
k. o.
Just had the most amazing afternoon tea. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It's vintage so they were dressed for the surroundings. Super vintage clothes store to
M. G.
We were given a voucher for Christmas and used it today. We had a fab time. Huge amounts of delicious cake and more tea than even I could drink! Everyone was super helpful -thank you for a great afternoon treat!
S. B.
Went for scone and a coffee in wartime themed cafe. Fabulous scones and nice ladies serving. Tea and cafetiere coffee available. Have to go up and down very narrow stairs through antique shop to get to cafe due to Covid one way system. Parking difficult.
S. S.
Absolutely love the 1940s tea room. Just the place for a nostalgic visit. We had perfect cuppa and cake.
R. B.
The Shed is a quiet quaint place, the music played in the background was late 30s and 30s. Really nice to have a proper teapot with tea cozy and drinking from a China cup and saucer. Service was excellent, staff really try and go the extra mile. Highly recommended 👌
G. H.
Very quaint with lots of lovely things to look at and they do a wonderful tea.
H. D.
Went today (6/9/2020) for afternoon tea with my husband. Service was outstanding both from Bertie & the young lady (sorry totally forgotten her name) & loved the selection of sandwiches & cakes. Couldn't manage to eat everything but didn't have to worry as we were given a "doggy bag" to bring the rest home. Will definitely be rebooking for a girls date of afternoon tea 👍 thanks again
M. C.
What a lovely little place to visit... enjoyed the nostalgic tea room too.
j. b.
Me and my hubby recently visited for my Birthday we had a wonderful afternoon tea. The sandwiches and cakes were really lovely and of a nice variety. We love dressing up in 1940's attire anyway so this little place is right up our street. The staff were very welcoming. Highly recommended.
J. B.
Our first experience of the tearoom. Can't wait to come back. Delightful venue, delicious food and drink fascinating artifacts, great service.
A. S.
A wonderful adventure. Nora's cafe is a delight.
S. S.
Absolutely love this beautiful little find.
The cosiest tea room playing 1940's music, like going through the door into the past. Cream tea was delicious and the gentleman behind the counter was so cheerful and friendly. The shop is amazing with some beautiful antiques. Can not wait to go back....
T. S.
This is an interesting place, not perhaps, what you would expect to find in Sproughton.
However, they have a range of furniture, some pottery, brass, copper, garden goods, fabrics, they had a particularly nice large Epergne. They also have some female and male clothing. I'm sure I may have left some things off!!
There is also a lovely 1940s tea room, which looks very authentic and the food is lovely with very friendly staff.
My only downside remark, hence why I have taken a star off, is the parking. It can be very busy around that area and there are limited choices.
T. M.
If I could give more stars then I would, fantastic place for afternoon tea.Lovely court yard which always seems to get the sun. Delicious selection of food and amazing staff, very friendly and polite. And not to forget one of the best Antique Centers in Suffolk.
R. M.
Such a lovely place. Got lots of different small, local businesses, antiques and you never know what goodies you'll come across! The 1940s tearoom is amazing. Serving freshly baked scones, cakes, cream teas and even an evacuees lunchbox for children! Cannot rate it highly enough. Well worth a visit.
M. J. E.
Love the Shed and as for the cafe' a maze ing darling, but, and it is a big BUT the guy that serves on the till really needs to learn some ' keeping Customers' skill. He got really disgruntled with me when i reminded him that that particular seller was offering a discount. Then went on to charge my daughter double what she should be charging. Its very obvious she is autistic, my wife stepped in to challenge him and he was very sheepish. He alone has made us feel we shouldnt return.
J. D.
We booked afternoon tea for 11 people today. The service was excellent, the food delicious and very plentiful. Teas and coffees were topped up frequently. 1 lady had a gluten free option and it was really nice. I would definitely recommend the Shed, the service, food and ambiance made the afternoon superb. The booking prior to the event was very easy and the owner was very friendly and approachable. It was a lovely experience.
x.
Very polite staff really enjoyed the atmosphere and being able to dress up. The food was also amazing quality. Definitely coming again.
R. A.
We booked up for the 1940’s themed afternoon tea today and was suitably impressed with what was served. The food was delicious and staff were so friendly and welcoming. There are a wealth of interesting antiques to browse and we spent several hours doing just that. Everyone had a wonderful day and feel completely stuffed. Go there hungry if you book afternoon tea!
Thanks to everyone there and we will be back again soon.
J. B.
The shop was lovely as well as the staff, we have afternoon tea for four, we had one sweet and one savory but we were disappointed with the cakes, two out of the four were Mr Kipling cakes! The strange thing was that when I went to pay they had a variety of homemade cakes for sale. So I don't understand why we didn't get the others instead. The sandwiches where nice and they even had quiche and sausage rolls, we weren't on the deville eggs but each to there own taste.
L. C.
Lovely coffee shop. Interesting antiques
Worth a visit
P. O.
a very interesting place, I bought a clock which I found did not work, I returned it and was offered a refund immediately , good customer service. they have a very nice tea rooms, music a bit loud but the tea is very good
S. T. R.
Amazing food, perfect presentation, good coffee, lovely tea, friendly & fun staff, a truly exceptional experience! book early as its small but totally worth it, locally made cakes... This place has it all and will really look after you. We came for the mouching around looking at the wonderful collection of good quality reasonably priced items and bought a few things that we are very happy with, can't wait to re-visit and spread the word! THANK YOU ALL
M. S.
2nd visit today this time for Afternoon tea. Delicious food, excellent and friendly staff. Can't recommend the experience enough. See you next Friday xx
S. M.
No complaints at all. Afternoon tea for lunch was lovely, fresh sandwiches with plenty of filling. Huge fruit scones with ample jam and cream and a top layer of cakes we had to bring home to have later. Our experience was excellent. Will visit again.
T. B.
It was a fantastic afternoon walking round then tea and sandwiches. This was my husband's 1st time here. He will definitely be coming back. We will be booking the afternoon tea next time. I have family from America coming over in June. I definitely will be booking for us all. Great place service amazing food delicious.
A. M.
Booked the shed for daughter's baby shower and it was absolutely fantastic and the hostess was brilliant and very helpful. The food and drink was great will definitely be going back. They also catered for my mum who is gluten free
And another person in our party with a nut allergy.
C. R.
Great little gem of a place. There are so many brilliant bits for the home. Rugs, mirrors, lamps, furniture, pictures, soft furnishings, garden accessories, all lovingly restored and cherished. It's the perfect place to pick-up a used item for your home that is that little bit different. Individual antique sellers operate within the tardis shop and staff are v helpful and jolly. Things are great value for money and I wished I had a bigger house!
K. L.
Went to the 40s style cafe in the shed, but was surprised by the size and selection of antiques nic nacs that they had on show, had a lovely browse around the shop before going into the cafe where we sat in the courtyard and had a lovely fresh scone with jam and cream and a cold drink. Staff friendly and helpful, cafe can become busy so an idea to book. Will definitely go again, atmosphere relaxed and pleasant. Would definitely recommend
I. G.
Absolute little gem. Lovely antiques section plus the most delightful 1940s style vintage tearoom. All home made scones and cakes and scrumpy sandwiches served by great staff. Really worth a visit.

Such a quaint little place. Covid safe.
b. c.
Lovely quaint Victorian tea room. It even has a Victorian till. Lovely staff. Beautiful sandwiches and cake. And after the meal it's nice to walk around the attached antique shop. Gets very busy so wise to book a table if you want a meal.
p. a.
First visit to the restaurant. Only thing missing was the sun. Could have been in France. It was lovely. Loved the 40s theme too.
R. a.
Most atmospheric. Service pleasant and attentive
S. M.
Just had a fabulous afternoon tea at the Shed 1940's tearoom. We went in period costume and were treated amazingly. A fabulous place to eat and and wonderful experience. Highly recommend this as a place not just to eat but also to visit. Looking forward to the street party in May.
G. L.
Love this place, loads of quality antiques, no car boot sale rubbish. Prices are really good. The tea Room is amazing. Great service lovely tea . Vintage style décor and tea pot with knitted tea cosy. Just to top it off the menu is in a ration book. Love it.
Only one criticism, the entrance is not welcoming enough, blank door . Maybe put "PUSH DOOR TO ENTER THE TEA ROOM".
C. H.
Just noticed this place as I was driving through Sproughton and stopped to have a look. It has a mix of antique, vintage and upcycled furnishing and Household items, item a few garden . While I didn't buy anything and didn't have enough time to stop in the pretty cafe, I will call back. Everything seemed presented well and reasonably priced, with tickets on most items so you could see the price before handling anything. I will definitely be back as I am looking for Welsh dresser and I'm sure I will find something there. Wasn't entirely sure where to park, but it looks like there a a few places in the front yard area.
s. m.
Took my father on his 80th birthday with my daughter and granddaughter.
Was over welmed by so much to see.
Felt like we had gone back in time
The food was exceptional, good portions size. Thank you for making a special brilliant day.
My father was close to tears with joy.
We will definitely be back
G. T.
Made a quick stop after seeing a sign for the vintage 1940's cafe. Only had time for an Earl Grey and a bacon sandwich but will definitely stop here again. Loved the ladies in their vintage clothing, food was good and the whole thing was welcoming and nicely executed.
k. v.
Lovely atmosphere of 40's
Friendly staff
Very good home made cakes

Thankyou so much to the Shed and their Tea Room for providing a collection of Afternoon Tea for both my mum and aunitie. My mum is housebound and when she saw it her words were WOW and her face lit up!!😊 my mum really tucked into it and my Auntie too. Massive thankyou on their behalf. Made their day. Precious memories! I will seriously recommend the Shed. Excellent service.
J. S.
Having heard about The Shed from the lovely chap that works in the tearoom we thought we had to visit. This is a little gem, tucked away the tearoom is fantastic, the theme suits Scott and the lovely dressed Jackie to a "T"". It is a very relaxed place to enjoy their fair, we had the toasted sandwiches and the full fruit scone experience and were not disappointed at all, the attention to detail was lovely and the fact that Scott is a peoples person just adds to the experience. Thanks
S. W.
Had a lovely cheese scone (with a cheeky slice of bacon) and great peppermint tea here a couple of mornings ago. My friends and I were meeting for a business chat and the staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful, especially with my friends little baby. Honestly the best cheese scone I've had! The room and courtyard are charming and much bigger than expected. Definitely worth a visit.
C. S.
So much stuff to look at! Bought my daughter a bugle, random I know but they have something for everyone! Cute little cafe too, selling the most gorgeous sausage rolls and cakes. Well worth a visit.
K. H.
A lovely place to visit , lots of old antiques to buy. Only disappointment was they have a 1940's tea room there, so decided to go for a tea and cake but was told that no tables as hadn't booked. This isn't stated on their blackboard on the street outside the shop. So came away disappointed.
J. B.
Be prepared to be surprised and enchanted by this tardis-like building that gives nothing away on the outside. You will be drawn into two large floors of antique furniture, collectables and imaginative garden decor. At ground floor you are greeted with a 40's style cafe serving real tea and delicious home-made cakes. The cafe spills out into a beautiful courtyard. You have to experience this unusual place for the collectables and the tea. It's the best shed I've ever seen!
k. m.
Gorgeous shop. I went there to buy frenchic paint but they had quite a low stock, well a fair bit of a stock but only in a few select colours. I'm not sure if this is always the case but next time I will call ahead as I couldn't buy what I wanted to. But the people were nice and the shop is beautiful
l. b.
What an amazing place!!! Loved looking around at all the antiques but the best was the Afternoon Tea!! Lovely homemade cooked food and our hostess Honour was exceptional!!! Will definitely be going again!!
M. A.
Slightly biased as I work with Ken and Lesley as a marketer; however, I'm always amazed, when I visit, at the vast amounts of treasure that I find amongst their own trove and that of the 12+ traders. Ken and Lesley are friendly and welcoming and can't do enough to help - neither can anyone else that works with them. Added to that Tea at the Shed, the in-house vintage tea room, serves up the most delicious lunches, cakes (almost all gluten free), and tea - take it in the courtyard garden and enjoy the tranquility before you buy!
S. H.
Beautiful place! Lovely staff, great food and very aesthetically pleasing!
T. G.
Amazing little village cafe and antique shop. The cakes are out of this world and so are the coffees. All set in a beautiful courtyard. Only just moved to village and been twice already.also staff are super friendly and helpful.
