Went in customer service to collect a raffle price from their car boot event about a month ago. Staff was very polite and friendly. The customer service area with the shop right next to it was very clean, spacious, some good pet foods, beds, toys, and more. Also some great advice on different animals. Free car parking spaces right outside, including disabled parking spaces.

We adopted little Cockle from Woodside last Sunday, and we hardly saw him for 2 days as he was a bit nervous, and hid under the kitchen cabinets! It didn't take long for him to come out of his shell though, and now he is very relaxed and extremely well behaved. No accidents at all, he is a very good boy when using his litter tray and he even uses his scratching g post. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at woodside, you do a fantastic job. Just thought I'd let you know that we love Cockle and he seems to like us too 😊

Just did a fete here, it was lovely to see how the staff got into the spirit and all proceeds go to woodside. They put the fogs away as to kit stress them out but one dog was walked 6 times whilst I was there as really doesn't like kennels. The staff go above and beyond. The shop is full of really nice produce and products for your animals

Amazing rescue, amazing staff so lovely and very passionate for their animals. I adopted my staffy here when she was 3 years old and competed her at the rspca charity agility we had no training just did it for fun and to contribute and we came 4th haha. Have both dogs and cats here. Went looking for a dog and found a beaut called Shadow. Hope we get her! Animals very well looked after and rehabilitated if needed. Excellent facilities. Staff very helpful. Don't expect to walk out with a dog straight away. There are plenty of checks to do 1st on you and the family, your home etc.

We found our forever friend here 14 years ago. She was the best, most loyal friend you could ever want. We had her when she was four months old and had her trained here. Sadly she passed away 17.4.19 a few days ago. We miss her so much, she was a big part of our family for 14 wonderful years. Thank you so much woodside for our lovely Daisy we loved her so much she gave us so much joy, and I believe she had a wonderful life with us great with all our grandchildren so gentle and faithful. Hope you carry on caring fir lovely animals like daisy. Xx😥

Helped out at the Pet Fest on Saturday with refreshments. The weather was awful. Torrential rain all day, but that didn't put folks off! It was a grand event and so much effort went into organising it all. Didn't attend on Sunday, but weather was much kinder, with the sun making an appearance!!! Everyone was so cheerful and friendly. I'm glad I was part of it all. I had a veggie burger for lunch which was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection.

We 1st went to look for a pair of cats on a Saturday. It wasn't a good experience. The cats were all obviously well cared for but there was no real information easily available. We enquired about several and each time were told they weren't available. We gave up. Went back mid week and had a totally different experience. Reception gave us a list of all the available cats and we found our new pair. Quick form filling and arranged collection for after their 2nd vaccinations. So glad we went back. Seems to me the animal welfare side is brilliant but the management/information side could do with some basic training. E.g making sure each cat pod has basic information about the cat on it.

Small wild animal rescue centre, they take in anything non-domesticated from baby birds, hedgehogs, foxes, birds of prey, up to deer. Also anything that clearly isn't wild, like wandering parrots or escaped reptiles. Volunteer run, any donations of pet food/bird food/old bedsheets/blankets/pet toys/cages are always welcome.

As far as animal care and cleanliness goes, it appears to be spot on. All visible areas are free from animal mess, food and water is available where necessary for the animals and there seemed to be staff walking various dogs at any time if you chose to look. The accommodation for all visible animals was kitted out with a few toys or scratch posts, branches (depending on species) and a sleeping area, as well as water and a toilet area (mainly a littler try for the cats). The down side was a complete lack of animals (mainly dogs) on view. I assume this was due to medical/ personal evaluation before being offerend for adoption and that is completely understandable, but a good 65% of the unit its self, was off show/locked to the public and of the 35% of canine accommodation on show, I only saw 6 dogs. I only saw four staff members, two in the shop, one walking dogs and one in the cattery, she was the only person to acknowledge my existence at the unit, even reception didnt say hello. For a large unit occupied by one of the biggest known charities, I was confused as to where all the potential adoptive animals were, esspecially when all the advertising for the RSPCA suggests their shelters are completely over run. Either way, the facilities at Woodside are well maintained, clean and seem to offer a good temporary home for all visible animals under their care, just a very odd experience of an animal shelter with only a limited number of animals/ no explanations of areas being sealed off.

Although some kennels empty, still too many dogs and cats need rehoming. This of course doesn't reflect how many animals are being fostered off site. Some were not available for adoption; presumably these are sadly awaiting court decisions. The law needs updating dramatically to reflect the neglect and depravity shown by owners/breeders.

Petfest at woodside RSPCA was dog heaven. Planned again for August. Highly recommended. Take your dog along. Multiple stalls and raffles. Dog agility. Dog shows. A pool for the dogs to swim and cool off. Bouncy castle and face painting. Food stalls. And a chance to see the latest dogs that require adoption.

They do the best they can with the funds they have. You can't judge most dogs by how they are in a kennel as they must get stressed when other dogs are bàrking and they are watching stràngers wàlking past all day. They must miss having a lot of attention when they're in à pound wondering why they're there? I have 2 rescue dogs both Staffys and I can't find fault with either they're amazing dogs and brilliant additions to our fàmily

The cats at this particular RSPCA seem very well looked after, maybe too well looked after. I have heard rumours regarding crime syndicates and cartel bosses using the RSPCA as a front to traffic illegal narcotics. Cats are donated to the centre on a daily basis, unbeknown to the staff the cats have ingested a non-degradable pouch filled with class-A drugs. Buyers and clients then adopt the cat and remove the contents for further distribution. I for one do not believe the stories and send my gratitude to the staff at the Scudamore Branch for helping me to adopt two small kittens, Paul and Barry.
