D. M.WHSmith (Livingston centre) always seems to be low on stock when I go in. I think the store could be a bit better organised. It needs an injection of new ideas to keep customers interested.
But because I like books/stationary shops, I’m giving it 3 stars.
A. P.Main focus is still on books & magazines. Don't always have what I was looking for - including latest releases! They now have a 'cheaper/reductions' section at the back of the store. It's disappointing as paperbacks are not reduced by much and are on shelves in no particular order. This makes it hard to find what you're looking for. Few staff around even when shopping centre is at its busiest! Not the WH Smiths of old.
R. R.Smith's shops are like a favourite jumper, always there, comfy but often ignored. The size of the shops vary depending on location but all manage to squeeze in newspapers, magazines, stationery, cards, sweets, and soft drinks. The one in the Livingston Centre is probably on the middle size range. This means it feels less crowded than some the stores but it shares the common theme of appearing underlit and in need of sprucing up. That said it fulfills a need and generally you can find what you are looking for.
