Reviews of Alfies Antique Market
T. N.
A bit of a hidden gem, London is so full of hidden gems that it is hard to work out which i should recommend. Its a collection of antique dealers set in a beautiful art deco building. The shops are varied in style period and items. But that adds to the charm. You will rarely find bargains here as all have usually been snapped up by other dealers. What makes the place is the roof top deck restaurant which is the real hidden gem of alfies. Food is very reasonable and really intimate.

This is filled with authentic antiques of varying quality and prices. It is not for the faint hearted or for people adverse to stairs and cramped spaces. I was particularly impressed with the Vintage clothing store as its stock was in excellent condition and from many decades.

Absolutely the best place in London for Vintage interiors. Great selection of Jewellery. Vintage exquisite desirable clothing Top a floor Lovely roof top cafe. Like the best maze you have ever visited. 😁

When my partner asked me to accompany him to this place, my first reaction is, but it is in Church Street! Isn’t it a flea market?
Well, was I wrong! It has amazing special antique shops all over the show. Great hunting day for the bargain-hunter in you. Or an antique road show for one?
We found great stuff, amongst junks. Honestly? 90% of the stock are excellent.
Speak to the shop keepers/owners nicely and you will be surprised what you get out of them, stock wise and price wise.
My best is Les Trois Garçons.

It’s cute but most of the sellers were entirely aloof. The cafe on the rooftop is so cute and fairly priced (for this part of London). I think it’s worth visiting at least once :)

First class lighting shop with a nice front of window ceramic dealer. The rest I can leave, not really interested in selling. Just storing for online sales I guess. Prices apart from the the lady at the front are offensive. I asked about a Doulton vase worth around £200 & was told £1400

A total Alladins cave of antiques and treasures. There are stalls in every corner selling everything from turn of the century Korean ceramics to ancient silver and everything in between. It was very quiet when I visited and prices can be eye watering so be prepared to haggle. Vendors seem to be there forever so use every trick in the book to entice the sell. Be careful with fakes as well, especially for the more expensive items. Good to window shop and learn about the history of unique items.
C. S.
Interesting Antique Market with lots of history which spans 4 floors! There’s a rooftop cafe on top as well. Items were pricey though so it’s not somewhere where you’d go to get a good value find, but there are beautiful pieces there that you can get if you’ve got much dough to spare.
L. A.
Fantastic place where to relax and enjoy good quality food. The view of the city is breathtaking and the staff is always very polite. Thanks, good work.

Been coming here on and off for some 35 "years
What with this venue and that of Kingston Antiques Market, many a happy hour has been spent blissfully choosing what to buy
Toby Jug collectors paradise,
Netsuke, Ojime and Inro heaven
to that of 1920-30's art deco are all to be found here
Try out the roof cafe.

An amazing labyrinth of antique and vintage stores, you're bound to find something you like! Cafe also excellent for coffee and has affordable lunches
M. O. G.
Very large indoor antique mall well worth the trip if you collect anything. Lots of shops. Enormous lighting shop.
N. S.
Lovely rooftop terrace for brunch. Fun place to browse for antiques and retro furniture / home decor
a. b.
Packed with Antiques, lots of small and large shops inside and a very nice roof top cafe
R. N.
An old favourite that has survived decades of ups and downs. Some really interesting dealers and not outrageous prices. Other good dealers in Church Street nearby for a day's worth of antique hunting
j. b.
Probably not what you’d anticipated with an abundance of light fittings and preponderance of 60/70’s furniture implying their enduring appeal or endless availability or both.
Amidst the heaps of the discarded and disdained across the spectrum of “things” you’re probably likely to find that elusive whatchamacallit or desirable thingamabob.
Approachable traders, often with a story to tell... and then some.

This place is a treasure trove. If I were a tourist I would come here over many other favourite attractions. The contents are amazing. The stall holders are fascinating. The experience is magical! I would add photos if you were allowed to take photos in store.
A. W.
Incredible place and the red haired lady at the top floor was so nice!
r. r.
Plenty of units selling a wide variety of antiques and goods not many have survived like alfies.. keep going strong!
S. F.
A truly hidden gem of London. Every shop has unique and beautiful pieces worth checking out, and the shop owners are all extremely warm and welcoming, very nice atmosphere.
Also the rooftop café has some amazing tea and cakes, for a very decent price.
Will definitely come again !
D. J.
Lots of nice selection from multiple small to medium stall/shops. Nice roof café. Comfortable to move about.
M. O. S.
Not so easy to reach this market located in church street is surprisingly amazing with many antiques items and a roof top café to have a moment of relax while shopping
A. A.
Hidden behind a shop, you'll find a fancy and cheap restaurant. Good food and delicious cakes.
C. S.
You must live Linda B on the second floor. She has a fantastic a shop. Her shop is bright pink and gorgeous, just like her. I love everything in there. She has jewellery, hats, pins, masks, rings and more. All her items are vintage and very reasonably priced. I brought a beautiful ring from her and will be buying more from her.
The best thing to do is visit The roft top kitchen for tea and cake. I wholeheartedly recommend the blueberry cheesecake. I'm not a fan of cheese cake at all, but this cake is so good. Even chocolate will love it. IT'S PERFECT.
If the weather permits sit outside, smokers are welcome.
The outdoor seating area is perfect for fashion shoots and free. Just pay it forward by treating yourself to cake. Everything on the meal is great.
A. C.
Out of the world experience
Bought 2 beautiful mid century chairs

This is a must-see off the beaten track in London! Countless little antique shops in one store. Nice stuff, nice people, nice vibes!
V. S.
Amazing place. Deceptively large and so many vendors and products. It's not car boot prices so be prepared to buy fair money for the products. The vendors are very nice and polite and the products are amazing. Great selection and could spend hours looking through each of the shops.
Enjoy

A great antiques emporium with a large range of outlets, certainly worth a visit. Brilliant 1970s furniture and fittings selection.

Easily accessed from Central London via Marylebone or Baker Street Underground, Alfies is great place to see some beautiful high end vintage Italian furniture, lights and home decor.
Whilst there is an amount of silver, china and glass it is a bit limited. There's quite a bit of vintage clothing and jewellery and an assortment of interesting items to admire. However; there is less in the way of varied collectibles for those with modest to medium budgets or those hoping to find something in their particular field of interest unless they are looking for the sorts of items as previously mentioned.
Apart from the two first dealers nearest the main entrance who provided a warm and friendly greeting I found I was mostly ignored or dealers were too busy chatting with each other. I didn't find the place quite as friendly or helpful as other similar establishments. The feel of the place is becoming more like high end designer furniture store.
If I was in the area again I would definitely drop in to admire some of the beautiful items of decor but I wouldn't travel in from further afield because there isn't enough of the interesting little items, china and glass or collectibles that I'd like to buy.
a. c.
I love this market! It's four floors of stalls packed with all sorts of wonderful Antique and vintage finds. From jewelry to furniture to silverware to clothing, tea cups, crystal, watches, art; it's great. Each stall is separately operated so the prices vary and the stock is always changing. Be sure to stop by Goldsmith & Perris, my favorite of the shops..
G. R.
Filled with interesting antiques, furniture and also a lighting shop selling vintage light fittings and lamps.
Large jewellery section with all kinds of jewellery including vintage antique jewellery, 1980s retro costume jewellery and collectable lighters, pens, vintage travel accessory sets and the likes.
Allow for 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get a good look around.
H. H.
A wonderland of antiques and accessories, clothing, and curiosities. This emporium is well worth a visit if your close by. There are objects to cater for all budgets. Spread across 4 floors with a cafe, and a fish pond. Will be retiring when I have more time.
s. p.
This is the best place! You can find anything here! You can also find something to eat on the top floor if you get tired of looking. I can especially recommend the vintage shops on the top floor, its like heaven for a person like me that loves costume jewellery.
K. 3.
Magnificent!!
Miniature shops with lots and lots of vintage artifacts. From furniture and jewelry to lamps and silverware.
Upstairs you'll find a quiet and beautiful cafe with a great outdoors rooftop seating.
Delightful!
K. W.
What can I tell, first it was difficult to find but it's so interesting there it's a must if you are into vintage there are a lot curiosities also , really nice shop owners, especially Linda Bee she's absolutely gorgeous , she's so nice and kind. Had coffe and cake at the roof too kitchen there. Was really nice and absoluty worth to search for it
C. N.
Who needs the V&A when you have Alfie's! Just had a personal talk on wartime propaganda scarves and Whitefriars glass! Such a wonderful place to while away the afternoon and a huge range of different styles. All the stall holders are very engaging and more than happy to spend time taking about their antiques and curios. Well worth a visit!
m. w.
Great if you like retro vintage items, massive choice if light fittings lots of silver and glass. Vintage furniture items and clothes. Not much in the way of ceramics. Has a pleasant cafe.
A. F.
Morton was so very helpful and knowledgeable and had some really lovely pieces. I bought a lovely Victorian chain and ring, bought for a great price. Really recommend!
J. B.
I'd visited Alfies several times over the last year, mainly because a friend of mine had recommended them to me - I'd been looking for a set of vintage lamp shades for ages and couldn't find some anywhere.
Anyway, It was certainly a good recomendation - the place has hundreds of antique dealers, so finding something that I wanted was no problem at all!
I'd recommend Alfies to anyone looking for unusual gifts or presents for people, there is a rooftop cafe as well, which I thought was excellent - I've actually been back to the cafe a couple of times to meet friends as well for lunch!
C. C.
Really cool place to see! If you like design, furniture, decoration then this is a place to go. Nice little café upstairs as well if you get hungry after hours getting lost in the building :)
A. M.
As my mother is a passionate antique collector, I just went to this place with the simple task to buy some special present for her birthday. Actually, the task was not as simple as I thought it would be, but the staff helped me out with browsing the whole place and also gave some very helpful suggestions. I bought a very beautiful painting, which my mum liked a lot.
Thanks for your help.
J. H.
A little haven of eccentricity. A warren of tiny antique shops selling all sorts of eclectic items, all within the same building, leading up to a very nice little rooftop cafe. Had one of those long boozy lunches here which turn into an afternoon off work with a good friend. A great antidote to the usual fate of office workers of banal lunches hurriedly procured from chain restaurants and then eaten "al desko".
K. F.
Words fail me when I start talking about Alfie's Antique Market. I will, however, try to fit in a text box the excitement and euphoria that take over me every time I go there. On my way to this magical land, I feel like a kid going to its surprise birthday party - I don't know what I'll find, but I know it's going to be better than anything I can imagine. It's always such a thrill coming across a rare find - each with its charm and character that takes me years back, and has me imagining the lives of the people it has belonged to, making up stories in my head. Nothing else can give me the fuzzy feeling as when I take home another gem that I know I'll spend hours contemplating and that will make me smile every time I catch a glimpse of walking by.
H. G.
This is a very interesting place for people who like vintage and antiques. Forms by different small stores and some even designer studios where you can find exciting furniture or clothes
M. F.
I get goosebumps when I approach Alfies. The thrill of wondering if I might fall upon a fabulous 'undiscovered' rarity and pick it up for a tenner; the visual tingle of such a huge range of beautifully crafted works of past eras. It's quite stunning. Ranging over four floors and across many centuries, this place is a treasure.
D. A.
A great antiques market with a some hidden gems great to go exploring its labyrinths and motley of goods for sale. has a good cafe upstairs too in the middle section of the market and a veg , fish and cheap goods market on its doorstep on the main road outside, near edgware road tube too.
C. d. K.
Quirky, unexpected finds, relaxed place to have a coffee or cream tea (LOVE the scones). It looks small on the outside but hey...once inside, it's a different world. Could browse there for ages.
E. J.
Fabulous place, you can get lost among all this amazing stuff on who knows how many floors, and there is a very nice cafe upstairs, I challenge you to find it. And it has a roof terrace, such a nice hideaway :) And very friendly and welcoming staff.
D.
Whenever I look for a nice piece of Art-Déco jewellery, painting or porcelain, Alfie's Antique Market close to Marylebone Station is a safe bet. But you need to have a bit of time for the journey... generally good (market) prices.
L. R.
A little adorable gem of London that everyone should visit and possibly buy a piece of it
M. W.
Largest antique centre providing a large number of dealers under one roof specialising in 20th century artefacts ranging from furniture, jewellery. Collectibles with prices to suit all pockets. The terrace restaurant on the roof is a must on a sunny day.
M. R.
Aladdin's cave of antiques! There must be a hundred individual antique dealers units in here, spread across multiple floors. Just be careful if something catches your eye and you want to return later, you might genuinely find it difficult to locate it again!! Closed Mondays.
P. C.
Lovely place for a nice quiet drink and some food.
L. S.
Great indoor antique market to explore. There are many individual sellers here. A lot of the smaller items are reasonably priced. On our last visit we bought a couple of old hand written conveyance documents.
L. K.
A big antiques centre. Great for lights and larger pieces of furniture. Smaller items on the ground floor. Expect London prices. Visited on a Saturday, and most dealers were at their stands.
B. B.
Four floors of antiques, quirkiness, seriousness and loveliness. Perfect for a mooch or with something particular in mind. Grab a coffee and cake while there.
K. W.
A treasure trove of antiques, modern and old, artwork and many skilled services provided. A maze of wonderment - literally. A great way to spend spare time and money
S. B.
Lots of lovely items
M. N. B.
Great selection of independent retailers and dealers with plenty of choices from jewelry to furniture and everything in between. This is a very expensive place to shop in general but expected as they have some amazing stock in-store.
m. p.
Great Place to find Bargains "as they are a charity, who recycle old and unwanted household items as as furniture. Who can also arrange collection of these items "all in all reasonable distance.
H.
Sellers you need to come off your phone stop reading a newspaper ,but smile on your faces and serve your customers , it's called service with a smile really, you all look miserable as if you don't want to be there, customers don't feel welcome , and please don't judge customers because you think they look don't have enough money to spend with you, I can assure you ,you are most definitely wrong ,so please put smile on your faces and serve your customers ,that's if you want to do business of course , otherwise this market it's a really alovely market, so get on with it.
M. B.
