This place is amazing, my sister passed away and left me some acrylic paints and I thought I would get more to for a more art projects. I needed a few more different colours and couldn't find a metallic red, there is a massive range here and from blank canvases, heavyweight art paper, so many different types of paints, oils, acrylics, water colours, inks, pastels etcetera it goes on. It's easy to get overwhelmed. Sort of reminds me of a toysrus of art materials. The staff are very nice and friendly and helpful. I really lost myself here as there is so much choice. Love it here, I highly recommend here.

Enjoyed it quite a bit. My partner and I came here a few years ago while it was at its old location, it was bigger then and had a better selection of the materials I use. Positives -A black cat lives there (he bites so be careful if you want pets). -Great selection of oil paints, mediums, colour pencils, pastels and paper/canvas. -Some of their own branded art materials looked super interesting, including unusual length large brushes if your working larger scale etc. Negatives -Not very friendly staff - not rude, just didn't leave the best impression. -Could have more watercolours, brushes (very picked apart, but I think in their defense they normally would have loads more) and gouache (unfortunately all the bits I came for). -It was very hidden away, no worries we expected that, but their sign was not out and it was quite challenging to spot them due to lack of branding even near their entrance.

There is no way this is the UK's largest art supplies store - my local hobby craft is bigger. There's barely any room to walk around and finding the entrance was a nightmare without Google Maps directing me. Would have been better had the placard outside been facing towards the entrance. The only redeeming feature is that the prices were a little cheaper than either the London Graphics Centre and Rymans.

So many artist supplies warehouse in my experience are poor at stock control. Atlantis is an wonderful exception. It’s a schlep for me to get there but never fails to have what I need. Recommended. (and there is a coffee roasters nearby so the smell is unbelievably fabulous.)

A great art shop with lots to provide for a fair price. It's large and has plenty to give. The atmosphere is like your typical "warehouse" but is easy to navigate and find what you need. Purchasing massive paper was easy and relatively affordable.

This is a professional artist's shop, and I've only ever had a good experience there. Staff mostly very helpful and friendly. Big store, so usually quiet enough to think over your purchases. Excellent range of paper (although some that I particularly wanted has been out of stock for a bit too long). Other stuff is not much more expensive than elsewhere, but there is an excellent variety of high quality products.

Prices are reasonable. They sell a wide range of materials for students to professionals. A good size parking space but no lift for disabled access. The girl at the till haven't got a good knowledge of their product. They don't refill the shelves so often. When their products are out of the stock, usually they will be out of the stock for while.

Such a fantastic resource. I popped by to pick up some spray paint recently and they had everything in stock and were helpful serving me. The new location doesn’t have the same drama of the mega basement but I understand it is useful having the parking outside. Could have done with some cycle parking provision near the entrance.

I purchased 25 large sheets (1372mm x 1016mm) of Heritage Drawing Paper - 315gsm from Atlantis on two occasions. I need the sheets to be in good condition so that I can run them through my Plotter/Cutter and I have to say that I'm blown away by how good Atlantis is! Each time, they packaged the sheets up in cardboard in order to help them to retain their flatness. Atlantis take such care in the wrapping and I'm so grateful for this whenever I receive the order, because they always arrive in immaculate condition. The customer service is also great. I was delayed overseas and they kindly rearranged the delivery for me (using their driver) for later in the week, even though they had already loaded their van. I only have good things to say about everyone that I spoke with (giving advice etc) over the phone and also the driver, who is a nice guy. I look forward to ordering more from them in the future and I highly recommend Atlantis to anyone considering using them for art supplies. I meant to write this review for some time, because I hope other people will read this and decide to give Atlantis a chance!

The largest of London's art suppliers, purportedly with the greatest range, but the things they do well enough are some papers, stretchers, canvas and some professional bespoke needs. They could be better in other areas, but every time I turn up, I always disappointedly find parts of shelves and sections that are empty and haven't been restocked - colours or items missing out of ranges or even whole shelves vacant. In this they have poor stock control and restocking procedures and it is sometimes just pot luck whether they will have your item in stock - often without an idea as to when it'll be resupplied. Although they cater to professionals, it comes across as more a large student art supplier with some high-end and professional items, as the range selection for some items seems more perfunctory than extensive. I have visited art suppliers in other countries and there are many areas that could be improved and a more complete range supplied. For instance, although there are many other options, I was surprised to learn that they no longer carry the classic Conté compressed drawing crayons. Even though there are many other art suppliers in London, none of them are 'go to' places where you can supply almost all your needs. This is surprising for a city of 8 million people and a treasure trove of artists. Therefore, you will be visiting Atlantis for the particulars that you know they do well - for certain things this still stands true - but travelling to other suppliers and ordering online to compliment your requirements.

One of the best art stores in London. The best thing about it is it's sheer scale. An artists dream with a massive collection of materials catering to all mediums and type of artists. Finally they provide cheaper prices and an independent range of products that are even cheaper. Compare this to the London Graphics centre and Cass art shops and you can save so much money. Love Atlantis.

It's always a pleasure to visit the store, located near Brick Lane, it's a large light space with isle after isle of art materials. We've always found the staff friendly and willing to help. Slightly surprisingly situated on the third floor of what looks like an office block, Atlantis stocks a huge range of artist materials. There are few concessions to hobbyists here, and no funky discount programmes or events. Atlantis is a serious supplier for professional artists, with the stock ranging from student quality materials to some seriously expensive stuff. Prices are reasonable, and they do a student discount (though be prepared to show proper documentation, your student ID card isn't enough). Staff are knowledgeable, though not always that friendly.

I ordered a fairly large bespoke rectangular canvas with thick stretchers, deliberately specifying it is to be hung in portrait orientation, and obviously without a frame. You would expect Atlantis would note the portrait way up, and do the corner folds top and bottom onto the narrow sides so they are not so visible. Sadly, no, they have folded the canvas onto the long sides so the crease line will be visible through my painting. I'm disappointed and there seems to be no way to contact these people to get it changed. The product is good but the care factor seems to be missing so its only four stars.

Having moved to London (now 4-years ago) from Europe I was surprised to discover art supplies are more expensive (not only are they more expensive but it's the pound), however I would say that they have the broadest range of professional products in London. The service is pretty ordinary, but I would say that's the norn here for art supplies. *Cass is fine for cheap things though it is mostly for the hobbie artist; Jackson's in Hackney is small but worth a look - they are also online.

I'm a long time Atlantis fan. It's got a wide range of art materials, and has that unbeatable boho warehouse vibe. It's definitely for artists - the London Graphics Centre is better for pens, and Cass Art is better for sketchbooks, but Atlantis is good for papers, paints, and unusual materials. I go to Atlantis to discover something new.
