I have only used the laptop area so can't comment on the library/book catalogue side of things.
Not too far from the overground and surrounded by many buses, it is located near a busy bustling high street with plenty of food and coffee shops if you need a quick bite.
J. H.The adult fiction section is amazing!!! Hats off to whoever is picking the books for it. Love the independent publishers section and the staff recommendations too - never thought I’d see David Keenan and Percival Everett novels on display in a public library!
E. R.Started using Dalston library again. Very well laid out over 2 floors. 1st floor is children's and adults section, 2nd floor is reference and archives section.
Has audiobooks as well. There is a staff member for assistance but they also have automated machines for borrowing and returning your books.
C. A.I have always love visiting Dalston CLR James Library. It is a place of interest and learning. An adventurous mind to browse and seek books to read and borrow by different authors. The excitment of a new book by your favorite author can be overwhelming. The customer service is good and everything else is a bonus.
M. K.We like this library because of its central location at Dalston Square and quite busy schedule. There is amazing Children's Library and other amenities for a relax and spending nice time with the little ones. Also, I am really appreciated for a flexible timetable and working 7 days a week. I would like to recommend this Library as one of the best in Hackney.
H. D.Overall good library. However if it’s exam season you’re better off going to Barbican library unless you want to wait one hour for a seat. You would think the people in the library are noisy iwe we the staff themselves make the most noise. It’s well heated and has a plethora of books however, they need to invest into more desk space and the staff need to know it’s a library and not a community chit chat palace.

R.I found it extremely promising the way the people, were extremely diverse, and had a professional mannerism when referring me to their large comprehensible selection of books and audio-visual media. But what I found intriguing was the open nature of the managed groups, like narrating over comic books, and the such like which I found an entry level affiliation with interpretive writing, which crossed over into the more linguistic aspect, when I found the creative writing experience an exploratory journey, where every book symbolized exactly the route I was taking in terms of literary eclectic viability, in an interconnected way of story telling with sounds; nevertheless it gave me the impression that there was a solidified countenance about the bodily infrastructure of the Library. Excellent service, I would like to find the time, to build societies around the concept of fraternity among a distribution of different styles according to a unity, which is implicit in learning facilities.
K. L.Children's library is excellent and a great place for young children to hang out. There is a toy library on a Friday morning too. Good changing facilities, buggy Park and very safe environment.
T. Z. M.Find the fastest high speed wi-if (35-50Mb) available here compare to other local libraries so far. Easy access by transport, new library (opened late 2012) and able to access the newest edition of books/audio/video, workshops, archive collection and etc., Worth visiting place at least.

Filled with people (alcoholics) who come in just to watch YouTube and make random noises
Same people who take up desk space watching YouTube on their phones
Same people who smell extremely bad (projects the whole room and breaks everyone's concentration)
Not enough desk space
Would've been a very pleasant place to be for studying if it wasn't for the degenerates who abuse the resources,.
A. H.Awesome. I use this library frequently for studying and find the open study area to be quiet and comfortable. It has free wifi and the books are new and comprehensive.
K. H.There's lots for kids to do. The bookshelves that double up as a tunnel are a lot of fun for the little ones. Bean bags lined up by the window are fantastic too.
