Reviews of Ealing Central Library

The library itself is quite nice and spacious, however the staff are very noisy and are constantly talking to each other and customers very loudly as if they were working in a cafe.

Lovely place, staffs are all helpful and kind, clean and lovely environment to study.
Also peaceful ✌🏽😌 ✨

incredibly helpful when i needed to urgently print a letter today. i'm really grateful libraries like this exist.

Decent library with lots of desk space and USB/plug charger hubs. However, weekday lunch hours consist of chatty school kids playing music etc. One lady who was on her laptop even asked them to be quiet as it was difficult to work. The kids quietened down for a moment before noise resumed again... it’s just disrespectful. Saying that, I could have said something too but I didn’t (as I felt like I would absolutely snap and angrily overreact), however I’m sure if all of us adults did join in to complain together, kids such as these would learn some respect the world over. But in a library, is it our place to do that?
The staff could do a lot more to keep the area quiet, as a real library should be. But they were nowhere in sight during this hour. My guess is that they just don’t want to deal with it.
Luckily, outside the lunch hours, everything fell silent again and back to feeling like a normal library.

Good library with a superb selection of books - novels, factual books and DIY self help guides. Over 25,000 books and plenty of help and services available to the public for no fee. Staff are hard working and always aim to keep noise levels down. June is the month when noise levels reach their highest - mostly because of students who by majority are there to study but you always have a small segment causing drama for amusement. Fantastic move to keep it open - the people of Ealing rely on the services the library provides.

Very good library in general, but don't call yourselves a children's library when two staff refused to open one of the two toilets (disabled and changing room) for my 2 year old to use the loo (during her first week of potty training). By the time I asked for a key we had been there reading stories for a half hour. We had no option but to pack up and go out into the rain to use the main toilets in the shopping centre. Really disappointing customer service. I used the changing room to change a nappy two weeks ago (but had to ask the staff to unlock the door first) so you need to train your staff on what your policies actually are.

Great library for printing and computing; the book selection is outstanding, almost every book you could need is available! Staff are polite and helpful, noise levels are rather high during the summer but I put that down to the high influx of students during the peak period (GCSE/ALEVEL/HE). Good Job, Ealing!

From a place to study perspective is well equipped, plenty of space and good lighting. Though gets quite crowded during weekend. There is a quiet room which is normally relatively quiet aside the occasional excited teen.

Great library. Very clean and open, with good quality technology if you need it. The staff are absolutely lovely and really helpful. Great addition to our town!

Library has good facilities however it is a shame how the library has been reduced in size greatly, also the library is far too loud with kids screaming excessively. This isn't the best place to come to study.

A great place to bring little ones. The Children's department is well stocked and they host weekly events.
The late fines for Ealing Libraries are a little steep, but you can always renew your books online.

Its a nice big library, where many people can rrlax. It has enough computers for children reens and adults so the wait isnt long or a problem. Sad its closing for a while but cant wait to see rhe upgraded version. Hope its as comfortable and welcoming as it is now.

Staff are friendly and kind and it's quite useful to use the computers for 45 mins and easy to pay for something to print or buy a product.

(Translated) I used to go to the library in Japan because my children love books. I wanted to make a card here as well.
Immediately after entering the entrance, there was a person who would ask me anything (* I got a corona test kit here as well), and when I told him that I wanted to make a card, I was guided to the computer corner next to me. .. Therefore, enter the registration (date of birth, contact information, etc.) to obtain temporary numbers for the number of people you want to create. When you're done, the person will do the work of associating the temporary number with the physical card (in that respect, you can say that you can actually issue the temporary number at home, but before that person is there. I feel relieved to do it).
By the way, I was asked for (1) proof of living in Ealing and (2) autographed identity. For ②, I showed my visa, but it wasn't enough because I didn't have an autograph, and I was asked "Is there a bank card with an autograph?"
As for the children, I was able to register, so I was able to register two children. Adults need to come here by themselves, so only I could register. You can borrow 20 books for adults and 15 books for children, which seems to be 3 weeks. If you are overdue, you will be billed for money according to the number of overdue books and the number of days.
There is also a children's corner, so for the time being, it seems that books that can be read will not be a problem.
Both borrowing and returning are self-service.
Since it is a public library, some people occupy their seats and do suspicious things, but overall, I feel that it is a clean and good library.
