N. Y.Absolutely amazing pie and mash and apple crumble with custard, really delicious and traditional English food, one of the best English food I’ve ever had.
Service is fast, kind and friendly.
Prices are not expensive at all.
It’s an historical place with lots of history and with lovely staff and it feels like home. You can’t find another place like this around London.
We will definitely be back with friends and family. I would highly recommend to residents as well as tourists to visit this special restaurant.

Collected a takeaway, good packaging.
Pies are cooked well, pastry is crispy on top, good tasty meat content light gravey, good portions of mash, loved the liquor, could taste the fresh parsley.
Totally unique give it a try, great value for money, both indoor and outdoor seating, lovely and clean, Staff are friendly and welcoming, will eat in next time check this space for update.
S. C.The best Pie and Mash ever! I love Pie and Mash and the guys at Eastenders not only do a great pie, mash and liquor but offer the most friendliest service. And they do traditional puds like apple pie and school cakes so for a northerner like me, I am in heaven. BTW they do offer vegan options too.

It’s a proper local place with lots of regulars, West Ham pics on the wall etc. Food was delicious, hearty and good value, service was quick and staff were super friendly.

There's always a seat available and I never have to wait to be served. If your driving there is a Co Op car park just around the corner that gives you an hour for £1. If you like pie and mash you have to visit Eastenders it's a must.

P.I come from Poland. I love this kind of food. It resembles me Polish homey and tasty quisine. Both pies (meat and veg) were very delicious.
The British food is much more healthy than American corpo food such as (Mc Donald's, KFC, Burgers etc.) It's a pity there are a few pie & mash bars in London.

D. F.Brilliant, Brilliant, brilliant. Being engaged to an East Londoner, I'm trying to learn more about her culture. This includes being introduced to the delicacy that is pie, mash and liquor. Our first two experiences at a well known pie & mash chain were hit and miss. Eastenders was an absolute knockout. The pie had flaky pastry, the filling moist and flavourful. The mash was smooth and warm and the liquor a perfect consistency and colour. Eastenders holds the title for best pie and mash in my book. Look forward to returning.

J. D.I love this pie n mash shop, I just moved into the area and was overly excited about having a pie n mash round the corner, reminds me of childhood, growing up in south east London. Anyway, me and my boyfriend go there every opportunity of a weekend and it is lovely. Only complaint is they don't have customer loos but I can understand that and there are public loos in the market behind anyway.

P. G.There's not many like this left. Tiled walls, formica tables, people dousing their pies in vinegar... It's a nod to the old east end and it's a good memory. The sign above the door still has 071 in its phone number! The menu choices are limited - minced beef pie, mashed potato and parsley liquor, perhaps there might be some eels on there but I've never been moved to ask for them. In my drinking days I liked nothing better than 2 pie and 2 mash to get me ready for a night out. Nowadays the lunchtime crowd are a mixture of locals, construction workers, white van drivers and suited Canary Wharf types, all there for a good value lunch that will keep them going for the day. I'm pretty sure they close around 3pm or thereabouts.
