I attended 2 beginners sewing classes with Barley earlier this month and I couldn't recommend it enough. Barley is patience, so knowledgeable and clearly loves what she does. The classes were small and supportive and before you know it, you are exceeding your own sewing expectations. I cant believe how much I learnt in such a short amount of time. Looking forward to taking more classes here in the future!

I am really enjoying the Basic sewing class (3 weeks). The teacher is very patient, truly passionate teaching and sewing and I am feeling very cosy and nice in her classes. The company has great values like sustainability and social design. I highly recommend to try other people that after COVID feel like learning and meet new people. Really nice place, thank you :)

The door is extra wide and the staff are really friendly. Shop fully wheelchair accessible. Beware when booking workshops though, the workshop area is downstairs. Great place for gifts, craft advice, mending advice especially, yarn for sale, fabric & sewing machines, embroidery yarn, threads and a range of upcycled homewears, clothing and accessories.

Great place to learn new sewing skills. Did a day workshop here with Barley and can highly recommend. Feel more confident handling zips now. Thank you Barley

An absolutely awesome place. Inclusive workshops and drop ins full of different levels and craft classes from sewing to embroidery to upcycling, knitting and many more. Friendly atmosphere, loads of support. They also sell some craft sets and have wonderful networking events.

Fabrications is AMAZING! I did the full day introduction to sewing class and was blown away by Barley’s thoughtful and creative approach - it’s clear a lot of effort has gone into designing the course and making sure students retain the knowledge shared. I love the bag I made (inspired by Dries Van Noten) and left super inspired - armed with the core skills to start my sewing journey confidently. A delightful day!

I went to the yarn shop day in conjunction with let’s knit magazine on Saturday and the shop laid on some mini knit and crochet workshops. Then if you spent more than £15 you received a goodie bag. The owner Barley Massey was very hands on and friendly As was the staff. The shop has a great selection of both yarn and fabrics and they also lay on classes and craft nights where you just turn up with your projects whether it be sewing or knitting or crochet help will also be on hand for any crafty emergencies. If you wish to use a machine then you have book in advance, the charge is £5 for the night and you have the use of their resources. I feel this is of great value as some places charge by the hour. I will definitely be returning for a class and craft night. Thanks Barley for a lovely afternoon ☺️

Lovely indie shop, I highly recommend Fabrications! The calendar of workshops is always inspiring. And I love the fact that they do full day workshops too (rather than just a few hours), and with a focus on upcycling, recycling and mending. Broadway market is lucky to have it.

Helpful and knowledgeable, you helped me sort the needles for my lockdown project and pointed me in the right direction when I was going to buy the wrong thing! The 'text and collect' service is brilliant, thank you for running it :)

A great craft store with a focus on recycling and upcycling materials. Loved their knitting packs: 9 small balls of yarn recycled from old knits & a pair of second hand needles in a suitable size. The scarf I knit will be a great souvenir of our visit to London. Made a visit during Broadway markets & it was surprisingly quiet in the shop. Guy behind the counter wasn't friendly, but also wasn't rude.

Fabrications taught myself and my daughter to crochet in the same class without us falling out, arguing or competing with each other - therefore they fully deserve the five stars.
Apart from great classes with excellent teachers and a fun atmosphere they also offer a fortnightly crafting club, good selection of wools, great packs to make something crafty with and well sourced items made from recycled items. All round a treasure trove of wonderful ideas with helpful and accommodating staff.
If you want any advice, learn a new crafting skill or just need some inspiration you would be hard pushed to find anywhere better; locally or otherwise.

Bought some wool and knitting needles to start me off on my new craft journey. Barley gave great tips and suggestions.

The people who own and run the shop are very friendly and helpful, they also have patience when teaching people who are interested in knitting for themselves, crocheting or sewing.

Great place, I went for a sewing class and it was very good and I am now booked in for a second class. Inspiring and I like the focus on recycling/upcycling old garments. Highly recommended.

Learnt masses on the all day Saturday class. It's the small points you need to know which make the difference. Lot more confident now to do alterations at home.
