Reviews of Foyles
F.
My favourite bookshop in all of London. They have a theater and a bit overpriced cafe but it still has 6 floors of books! They have a whole floor on other languages with books from lots of countries. They have the newest books in the first floor. They have a whole floor on discs and music and philosophy books. If you think of a book they'll probably have it there. The children's floor is decorated really nicely. It's structure is beautiful and although it's not the biggest in London it's by far the best. They also have other board games and some interesting stuff to buy. One of the best things is on the second floor where they have quiet a lot of comics and lots of manga. They also have toilets.

What a book store.
Every section has its own vibe in terms of books. It has 5 floors of pure joy, it's spotless if you need a book this is the place to go.
From a to z by author might I add this place has it.
The only down side is there was not a lot of places to sit down. But that can be forgiven as on the top floor I saw the pure joy of a child reading a Russian book
R. D.
Amazing Amazing Store! Books galore!!!! The store is literally massive!!! From kids to fiction to educational books, this store has everything covered. They also have a lovely section of diaries, notebooks, pens, pencil cases etc. Discovered some amazing reads on this visit also. Didn't speak to any staff but I was amazed by the amount of books alone. Loads of seating around as well which is nice if you want to sit down, have a chat or read. Definitely worth the visit.🤩🤩

"Welcome book lover - you are among friends."
Silly me... didn't leave enough time to explore the famous Foyle's on last trip to London. I could easily lose a whole day on its five floors.
Most fondly remembered as the only bookshop that had all my A' level French and Spanish literature books. In those days, Foyle's was a ramshackle, disorganised affair at a different location. Foyle's current shop is rather clinical by contrast but far more user-friendly.
Good cafe with nice vibe. Piping hot cappuccino and good WiFi.
Only negative was very few staff to be seen.
T. W.
Huge bookshop, neverending selection of books. Bookworms' haven. Opens quite early, at 9am. There's also a nice spacious cafe on the 5th floor.
A. A.
Really fun to browse and see all sorts of books, inspired me for some reads. However, didn’t buy anything as it’s very over priced. The cafe was so full at 3.30 on a Monday as well, a lot of single people hogging a whole table with a laptop — probably working. A bit irritating for those who are actually visiting the bookshop and want a quick snack or drink while browsing.
S. D. A.
One of my favourite bookstores. It has a wonderful range of books with great deals every summer, winter, and boxing day. I always watch out for the 3 for 2 sale for the the Short Introductions series. I love the language section and hope that the bookstore will further diversify its selection for Asian languages. The coffee shop at the top floor is almost always full in the afternoons.
s. b.
Amazing, huge array and satisfying amount of books. The art/music/fashion section could keep you busy for days. Fiction, non fiction, whatever you fancy. The staff aren't really readily available, but that makes for more of an adventure trying to find _that_ book.
S. J.
I could easily spend the whole day here. Unfortunately I didn't have the time this trip and took me a while to find what I wanted. No sign of any staff, but found the book by myself eventually. Only bought a vaguely reduced notebook in the end, stationery a bit on the pricey side but it's a new book shop in London so that's to be expected really.
A. W.
I had a great coffee here. Quite busy but as expected. Lots of books and really clean and organised
G. O.
Big, airy, open plan floors with lots of natural lighting couldn’t dispel the soulless feeling of the place.
Books everywhere but unfortunately there were none I wanted and I couldn’t find anyone to ask. To be fair staff shortages are understandable during the pandemic and it was around lunchtime.
The café staff were lovely. The fizzy pink lemonade was *very* lemony in a good way. I failed to taste any booze in the Guinness and chocolate cake which had several holes throughout.
If you’re into cosy intimate bookshops, this isn’t one.
M. M.
My favourite bookshop on London. The finest book selection, the music departament is great and the staff is very friendly, helpful and passionate about the books.
O. L.
Large book shop with a cafe on 5th floor. Great to have a big book shop still serving real books and stationery.
C. N.
A truly magnificent place for booklovers. Set over 5 floors, this bookshop has every genre of book you might be looking for and has an entire floor dedicated to books in foreign languages. They also have a nice café on the top floor. I've found the staff to be generally helpful whenever I've been in.
T. B.
Magnificent bookshop in central London. This book shop is one of the largest in London and they have a fantastic stock of fiction and non-fiction books, as well as board games, gift cards, and various other things. Wandering the various floors picking out a new book is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

A recent post reminded me of what an amazing space this place is. From when you walk up to its art deco style entrance, to walking into an expansive ground floor layout, to looking up as you approach the stairs, to see all the floors above. You may be searching for something specific, or simply venturing in for a browse, but you'll find yourself wanting to explore, because everything about Folyers speaks to an exciting, welcoming quality.
S. M.
What's not to love about this book shop, pity it has to move from down the road where it used to be in a very old traditional building with shopping floors and a tube that took away the money. You use to queue one place to be served then another to pay - now it's all modernised and list character but still has an amazing voice of books.
D. M.
One of the most historic book shops in the world, continues to trade from its new home in the old St Martins School of Art building, that has been renovated into a spacious, light, open plan store. It still has one of the largest selection of books in London, and is a great place to just browse. However the cafe upstairs is a little spartan, with tables & chairs that are not particularly conducive to a relaxing coffee with a read.
I. D.
A great book shop on several floors. You should find what you are looking for here. They also have occasional events such as jazz bands and Chinese dance.
A. N.
Can't believe I went into Foyles and saw bookmarks for my new book at the checkout! Thanks Foyles! Still the biggest and best bookshop in the world (in my opinion). Keep going Foyles!
M. M.
huge bookstore with so many great options
P. M.
Love Foyles! Such a fantastic bookshop! If you love books then this is the bookshop for you! 6 floors of every genre of book you could ever want. Staff are very helpful. There is a lovely restaurant on the top floor which has a large choice of snacks and meals, hot and alcoholic drinks! Centrally located in Charing Cross Road just a short walk from Tottenham Court Road.
K. R.
Incredible range of books for academic specialists, students and general readers. A nice cafe to sit, read and have a coffee or even a meal adds to the very pleasant experience as well. Highly recommended.
N. O.
My favourite bookshop. Perfect position right next to TCR tube and opposite TKMaxx . I just love Charing Cross Road. You can get a new outfit at budget prices and buy books and have a coffee and cake without walking miles and miles.
It feels so Soho as well. I like to go into that new shop that sells Harry Potter stuff. I don't buy anything I just like to visit.
M. N.
Brilliant place. I haven't used this bookshop. For yrs it was foyols then now it waterstones staff so helpful. And life to all 5 floors available.. well worth visit for your favourite books.
A.
I adore Foyles, every season I make my way down to visit and spend hours browsing. Amazing selection and easy to find what you’re looking for.
Cafe is nice but seems to have issues with seating, lots of people setting up for a day of study or work (one person was holding a Zoom call). We ended up sat against the windows at the back, using a little ledge as a table. Not mentioning as a complaint but as a heads-up to people looking to have lunch.
A. S.
My children's favourite book shop! Every half term we are going there to buy some new books. The feeling to choose and touch a book is magnificent 😃 A fabulous place!
B.
I seem to be a frequent visitor of the West End lately, I've seen Les Mis, Wicked, Doctor Who Time Fracture (Cinderella is next in a few weeks) & Come From Away which is near enough opposite this particular Foyles...
& what a gorgeous store it is!
Love all 5 Floors & the sheer amount of selection they have for every genre.
The Sci-Fi Section for Star Trek got me rather delighted I must say 🖖🏻.
The Cafe on the Top Floor was lovely, the Chocolate & Guinness Cake was gorgeously stodgy & super tasty.
I shall be back ☕🍰📚!
N. C.
Book heaven ! ⭐
All genres and categories for all your reading needs ! Has stationary, coffee shop on top floor, also music scores and vinyls
I would recommend to all book lovers of all kinds!!!
r.
Finally got to this world famous book store. Far too much choice for just one visit.
Their cafe is also superb.
S. A.
I didn't expect to find a huge range of Japanese language books here , there are childrens books, manga, novels for japanese reading practice too ! I wanted to buy everything but my wallet says no aaaa😭
S. P.
It's super good as a book shop but if you are hoping to read in the café, then, tough luck. It's too noisy. Especially if you are blessed with meeting the "book-club-folks".
L. M.
Amazing cafe. Great place to read a book. Nice coffee and snacks. Clean toilet. On the top floor of one of the best bookshops in London. Only downside is that it's popular and getting a seat can be tricky!
J. T.
I love this book store. So many options and a lovely cafe. The language floor is my favourite.
M. M.
ART Deco exterior on various levels ...sells ite s from Books to cards . The shop is on all different levels for example you walk in on the ground floor and you go down a flight of stairs within 20 metres or you can go up a floor in the same distance .you have lifts but I guess can get quite cunbersom with a wheel chair or childrens push chairs ..nice present ideas too
J. C.
With the demise of so many bookshops in central London, Foyles has become the de facto Mecca for book lovers... Helpful staff, lovely cafe, lots of books... What's not to love?
M.
This flagship store is really impressive with a beautiful interior design and vast collection of books. So much so that it is a tourist attraction. The shelves are well organised and the helpful staff are at hand to help you find your way around. Highly recommend this place.
L. V.
Amazing book shop in the heart of the West End! A few floors of books of all kinds, for every taste, with an impressive selection of titles. You can quietly have a sit and read what you like around the place or head to the coffee shop on the top floor. The staff picks selection is always very good and diverse. If you're jazz fan, head to the amazing jazz corner where you can buy new and used vinyl records, CDs and DVDs too (if you're really old school). I love Foyles and never miss an opportunity to walk in when I'm around central London!
A. N.
My ABSOLUTE favourite bookshop in London! Can spend hours on end there browsing and exploring. The coffee shop has a great vibe, have spend multiple hours reading there on various occasions. It's definitely a go-to for any book lover!
M. K.
Amazing selection of books, a wide range of sections. An inviting place where you can just take your time, wander around and get inspired. Tidy, friendly staff and a nice café on the top floor.
P.
A really pleasant place in the heart of London, worth to visit. Great variety of interesting and useful books. It definitely deserves more people to attend it.
A. D.
This is a great place for bibliophiles. There is a huge range of quality new and interesting books. The sheer joy of being surrounded by books is one of the reasons this is a great place to visit.
C. F.
Excellent selection, beautiful shop, helpful staff. They spaced out the shelves since Covid I think, which is thoughtful!
S. J.
Accessible floors filled with books . Also has stationary and branded merchandise. Nice café on top floor and also incorporating Rays Jazz store as well as a music section. Good selection but not as eclectic as it used to be. Nice shop but lacks the chaotic charm of the original store.
D. K.
Staff are very helpful and everything is arranged very neatly. In between shelves, the seating areas are perfect for a quick peak at the book or to get some rest. The cafe is outstanding as well. It would have been 5stars if their contemporary lit. section was a bit bigger.
H. H.
Every time we visit London we have to visit Foyles for their massive collection of manga and their amazing coffee in the cafe. All of the staff are always friendly and helpful, and we always feel welcome in the store. I always look forward to visiting Foyles.
J. K.
A good place to spend your time alone. Nice atmosphere and environment.
M.
Foyles is the best bookstore in central London! But more than that, the cafe is sooo beautiful and the drinks & food is super delicious.. I highly recommend this place!
C. H. S.
Great store with plenty of space and a wide selection of books and graphic novels in all kinds of different genres.
L. H.
A bookstore everyone should visit. Hard to find a book Foyles doesn't have. The store has an excellent designed layout making it easy to find what you're looking for and to discover something new. Great location - east of Soho, south of Oxford Street.
A. A.
One of my favourite places to hang out in London. Yes, hangout! They have books in so many languages, that you wouldn’t need to go to a specialised bookshop to find your exotic books. The cafe serves good quality tea and food. It is often busy, but nothing as crammed as it used to be before the pandemic. You can now almost always find a decent seat, often close to a socket to charge your phone. It is well lit, so artists, bring your sketch books along.
m.
In truth, it's been a while since I've been to a book store, but I'm glad I did. It's a fantastic place to browse and find a book to take home to read. Foyle bookshop has been extensively remodelled since I last came and it certainly looks more welcoming, more modern and less like a library. Now the books are no longer organised in the idiosyncratic manner like back in the day to something more logical. The store also stocks CDs, mainly classical, but there is a special Music worth mentioning. This section is focused on blues and jazz and is staffed by a very knowledgeable member of staff.
The selection of books is just the most amazing anywhere, especially theses days as bookstores have gone increasing out of fashion. The breadth of subjects is just, well, breathtaking. Coming to Foyles is more an outing now that they have an in store cafe in the flagship store in Charing Cross.
A. H.
Was looking for leadership books and had a great selection. Found a comfortable seat and read some of them there. Helpful staff.
A. B.
Good range of books, awful cafe. The music is too loud in the cafe, it's over-priced, the cakes aren't good and the tea is never strong enough. Also the young staff changeover frequently and have no idea what they're doing or what any of the cakes contain. The older manager is never happy. The bookshop has a great vibe and feels exciting and welcoming, the cafe is depressing and it feels like you are always a bother to staff who are having a miserable day. (I have been coming to the cafe on and off for a number of years - when I came a few days ago, I wondered why I was still coming back - it's just because it's next door to meetings I have. Must remember to go somewhere else).
O. D.
Great book store went there to get my friend a birthday gift and the staff was very helpful, got everything I wanted!
J. C.
The store is wonderful and will definitely return to buy books and dvds but the cafe was disappointing. Expensive, short-staffed and dirty plates everywhere. The staff that were working were doing a great job though and should get more assistance
N.
Even though it's owned by Waterstones, it's a better experience, amazing selection of books, one of the best foreign language sections I've seen on London so far, especially for russian literature. Nice section for board games and little nick-nacks etc.
A. S.
Huge bookshop with six floors, including a lovely coffee shop with big windows and comfy seats. Great place for study or social.
A. “. H.
Biggest bookshop I've ever been in. Massive selection of all kinds over five floors. Excellent selection of sheet music. Great children's and youth literature section. My boys could have stayed for hours, but with so little space in our suitcases we left empty handed.
C. G.
What could there possibly be not to love about a place with more books than most librarys, a café on the top floor, the odd cosplayer roaming the premises, and manned by knowledgeable and friendly staff?
I have simply put never seen a better bookstore anywhere. I could easily lose myself here for an entire day.
s. b.
Excellent services but we came for professional veterinary books & found out only about 30 books for small animals & equine instead of some hundreds expected books to be found...in humane medicine there were plenty...but we are veterinarians & we bought none😞
J. L.
I have to give five star to any remaining physical bookstores, rare treasures these days. I particularly loved the Interior section, where they played some wonderful music, coming from the adjacent music/CD section, which is another rare sight these days.
Y. F. n.
The best bookstore in the area. I’m amazed by the wide variety and genres featured over 4 floors. There is also a huge foreign language section.
Impressive interior design and architecture too. We ended up buying lots of books home and emptying our wallets. Plus it’s dog friendly...
b. a.
Fantastic book shop in Soho. Multiple levels of well organised books. Also has a lovely cafe with good ambience. It's got a small menu but the scones are excellent. If you are a music lover do not forget to check out Rays jazz vinyls on floor 2. Brilliant collection!
D. R.
Fabulous bookshop, always visit when in London
R.
The utter joy of being in a beautifully stocked bookshop with benches to give time to peruse the books. Lots of not over priced gifts as well as books....
S. A.
Their selection of books is just incredible and their languages section is well stocked! It's just such a fabulous place to sit and browse the books
I.
Wide range of children’s books! Very progressive bookstore and with student ID, there is 10% discount!
B. M.
One of the best bookstores franchises in the UK. Great depth of and selection of books, and a massive cafe at the top floor.
D. C.
Omg because we are used to one/two-floor bookshops having gone into Foyles was amazing. Very helpful staff and seats for the first time shoppers. Plus there was a cafe.
J. S.
Stop by and explore 6 wonderful floors of books. I came here for sheet music specifically, they have a great selection. I also noticed that textbooks were very well priced here (especially compared to the insane prices you see in the US.) I didn’t have a chance to check out the cafe but I sure will next time.
S. S.
This place is just massive, if you come without any clear objectives, strolling around may take you a long while :) much recommended!
C. B.
A great bookstore, no surprise there. Also very good classical music selection, and, a decent jazz selection. Always worth a visit.
M. K.
Foyles is the best bookshop you can find in London. 4 floors full of books and one with cafe. Extensive range of books, from beekeeping to design, sci-fi and books about math. You will find everything there and if you will struggle very friendly staff is there to help. It absorbs time like black hole, so be prepared fo 2h of browsing through excellently picked books.
A. (.
They have all kind of books and the staff is always helpful. I recommend this place to explore books & enjoy a cup of coffee upstairs!
E. O.
State of the art new building... Nice cafe on the fifth floor ... Very good selection of data science books
P. O.
The Award Winning Bookshop Est. 1903.
The staff here are quite good at what they do. Very courteous and willing to help. l can't recommend this store too highly.Plus not only does the store have a wide array of books on display, over a million books to choose from, if the book you are looking for is not displayed, chances are the store will get it in. Click & Collect In any of 7 branches with free Delivery On some orders.
Cafeteria on the 5th floor and occasional live music.
Well done to a well run business. A "breath of fresh air" !
P. W.
Fantastic place with a superb range of literature. Massively stocked and huge airy building with easy access and signposting to the various floors and sections. Excellent place if you love books and My particular foible,Graphic novels.
K. A.
I just want to buy a Christmas gift for a friend's child..
K. L.
Incredible bookshop.
If you’re visiting, beware of the 5th floor cafe run by Leafi’s (not by Foyles). You may be treated rudely by staff there.
R. A.
Very helpful staff and great collection of books. Especially with their new manga collection in the ground floor. Always enjoyed visiting and browsing here.
J. R.
Lovely bookshop, I always visit when I'm in London. It has an extensive selection of books, cds and dvds. I always find some treasure to buy
A. L.
Nice place to chill and inspect the treasures you have captured at Foyles book store. Nice interior, space to work. Selection of cakes etc. Also has space for some art exhibition.
G. J.
First visit. Could have spent the day there, browsing and popping to cafe occasionally. Spoilt for choice. It will be on my list of places to go whenever I am in London.
B.
Any bookshop is amazing. Have 5 floors of books and it's super amazing! Took pics of all the books I would like to read.
H.
Something about making your way up every floor is really satisfying. There was such a wide range of books and the atmosphere was lovely
Q. I. P.
I found her some good finds, I couldn't find elsewhere, very big!
J. D.
Amazing books shop full of amazing books. It's the biggest book shop that I have seen. It has a cafe too.
T. F. W.
I love the international section with non-translated books, and big classical/jazz music section. Apart from the standard books selection you would expect
R. B.
Foyles is the largest bookshop in London, but the staff are very helpful, and will help you find any book in store, as well as order books which are in print. You can also browse before you buy.
C. Y.
What a lovely bookstore! Feel like a shopping mall! So many categories especially great selections in sports and science!
K. H.
I love this book shop four floors and a spacious top floor that's a cafe. The places is clean and the lovely smell of new books. There is one big draw back is no on site parking.
R. K.
I agree with all the reviews. The review i like best is that it is a great place to be alone shefule a meetingvthwre arrive two hours early and read boojs. Heaven!!! Would like to die here.
G. M.
One of the best large book shops in existence. Internal signage is currently wrong, but if the staff can't find a book, the book doesn't exist.
B. C.
One of my favorite places in London, beautiful 5-floor bookstore with a nice cafe at the top. You can find pretty much everything you might look for there.
j. g.
Brilliant book store with lots to look at and chose from.
M. A.
Well I never! The world's most confusing bookshop finally got a make over and is now open, spacious, light and well organised treat.
I. F.
The very relaxing vibe and good staffing helps when you are looking around or buying specific books.
M. S.
Huge book shop set out over 4 floors including a coffee shop. Staff are extremely helpful if you need to find anything. They also sell some stationary and board games, puzzles and cards. Genuinely appreciate having such a decent bookshop given the rise of Amazon.
O. A.
Massive bookstore! Get all the books you want! I picked up a few cool history books from here. Just a shame there's no map collection :(
H. S.
Great bookstore, nice cafe on 5th floor.
D. H.
Bought a book, duh. Kenny the shop assistant was knowledgeable and friendly on the subject that i was looking for. Excellent service
J. S. (.
The best bookstore in London! Incredibly friendly staff. In total there is five floors each designated for a type of book. The store provided a large quantity of books regarding specific topics that others were unable to provide. Books are reasonably priced
T. M.
Love a bookstore! Cafe closed earlier than anticipated, but service was v good.
V. I.
This is the paradise of book lovers!
One of the biggest and best books collection in London.
From kids to science and technology to art everything is there!
You just need plenty of time and effort to search in all floors! !!!
There is also a great choice for CDs and DVDs.
On the top floor there is a cafe with free Wi-Fi and great coffee indeed!!
You can relax or work with your laptop or have a quick bite!
It's really a great idea of spending a few hours looking for an interesting book!
There is no way not to find something!!!!
Highly recommend!
N. B. B.
Impressive book store. Very large by US standards and full of shoppers on a Friday afternoon. Excellent selection with a very nice children's section.
H. H.
Favourite London bookstore by far! Amazing collection of books, good prices, and students get 10% off. What's not to love? I can spend hours in there
P.
Large, good selection of books, dedicated seats around the store to sit and read and also has a cafe
D. L.
The best book shop I've ever been to! Absolutely amazing store and helpful staff 😊
H. B.
I love this place. Staff is always too kind and polite.
S. M.
Lovely bookstore. Great selection overall, we went for manga and graphic novels.
Keep coming back when in central London.
R. A.
Perfect place to research, browse of simply relax. Astounding variety of books and music of all shapes and sizes. What better place to relax and decide what to buy than the cafe on the 5th floor where you can enjoy cakes, scones sandwiches and other tasty healthy lite meals.
S. L.
Excellent variety of books, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Particularly good for language studies. In my opinion it is the place you are most likely to find that title you have been hunting for.
I just wish they would acknowledge that not everyone likes to stand and examine books: some of us like or need to sit and peruse books.
A. M.
Nice area to have a drink with exhibitions one end in large open space. Toilet on this 5th floor.
Now 21/07/20 The picture gallery has gone making it more roomy with spaced out seating area. As I sat next to the window noticed the roof garden to help the bees.
E. W.
Can you even imagine walking into a bookstore with 5 floors of the most amazing books spread across every conceivable topic? One could spend hours rummaging amongst the shelves and not regret a single minute.
J. C.
A huge selection of every kind of book including some in other languages. Excellent cafe too
S. C.
Gorgeous bookshop, a real bookshoppers heaven. Very tidy well laid, and big selection of books about really really niche genres. Could easily spend a fortune buying lots of books ha
F. O.
Still the best mainstream bookshop in London, you can even visit just the ground floor if you're in a rush. Upper floors are for more specific research, like for poetry or history. Great music section
I. B.
Book store on several floors. Legendary place. For tourists: if you have money and good reading skills in English, you will take away a full suitcase of books. In any case, you can (and will) hang out here for a long time. Very amused to "History of post-Soviet Russia": was scared to fly back after the study :)
A.
A very open space with many topics to choose from. Clean and tidy, everything is where it should be.
S. N.
Best bookshop in central London. They have everything, Waterstones can’t compete. I was so surprised that they had a big language section. It was nice to see books in my first language( Russian) not overpriced ( like they are everywhere). I highly recommend. There is something there for everyone. There was also a giganting engineering and maths section.
R. M.
Nice cafe; set in a good space, with good drink selection, haven't really tried the food. Friendly staff in cafe and shop.
S. S.
One of my favourite book shops. Huge with a bit of everything.
S. P.
One of my favorite bookshops in London that I try to visit every time I find myself in the city! Would highly recommend for any book lover! Also there’s a great kids’ section.
S. V.
Superb and huge selection of piture, kids, youth books; genre, fiction and especially thematic non-fiction books. I alsways could stay hours. A visit alsways inspires to buy new or subtil then unknown authors and an interest in fresh topics. I also am a huge fan of the signed or limited edition. (My last discovery: the signed AND special edition of "Braised Pork" by Ann Yu, which I wasn't able to get in my homecountry - thank you, guys!!!♡)
E.
Lovely collection of kids books and all genre collector books that you can find.
D. H.
Great book shop well worth a visit
S. C.
Great for books of all kinds and music.
F. T.
best book shop around, staff miraculously know all books it seems
J. M.
Wide range of books. Relaxed atmosphere so you can take your time to look and decide on the books you want to buy.
S. L.
A fantastic multi-level bookstore with every genre from kids to fantasy to military strategy. On the top floor they also have a great cafe with a wide selection of snacks, drinks, and meals available. The cafe seems to be a popular place for students and employees to come to work in as it has a great relaxed environment
F. P.
Foyle's is the best. This location has many levels with a very large inventory, including food and drinks on the upper level.
G. C.
Foyles flagship store lies in central London and Charing Cross Street. Huge store, with several floor, thousands of book titles and a beautiful cosy coffee shop on the top floor. Even for a quick stroll around its shelves and a quick coffee at the end, it deserves your visit.
M. R.
Looking for books for 9-12 year old. Found loads! Good range of family games as well

Good and helpful and I like the cafe

It's a nice place to go. I like the cafe on the top floor. Staff are nice and sweet.

Amazing book shop, has everything a book lover would want
A. “. H.
Biggest bookshop I've ever been in. Massive selection of all kinds over five floors. Excellent selection of sheet music. Great children's and youth literature section. My boys could have stayed for hours, but with so little space in our suitcases we left empty handed.
L. F.
Love this place. Four generations of continuous good melodies of days well spend.
B. A.
It had a great atmosphere. you can read your book calmly while drinking your coffee.

Y. H.
This is a lovely bookstore in London. The whole area is very comfortable , also have various books in every area you need. They also have lots of languages books, music, films.

"Awesome", "splendid", or "spellbinding" are understatements for this heavenly haven of books. Spread into several storeys, this is a dreamland where the bibliophile is bound to lose them in the magic of books among rack after rack of books arranged & maintained with the utmost care. Enter it once & it's guaranteed that you won't be coming out empty-handed.
천.
The Foyles is 6Floors. And if you hope to take some coffee with nice view, then find the 5Floor's Cafeteria! You can enjoy the coffee with book :)
M. T. M. M.
Amazing bookshop! It has got books for all sorts of different thematics. If you're looking for something in particular, this is the place to go. Also a very vast and well stocked children's section with some nice gifting options.
L. M.
My favourite bookstore in London! I have spent hours in here in the past, and probably will again, if they don't have what you're looking for, they will order it for you!
E. D.
Great book catalogue and very nice café with a lovely scone.
J. H.
I love this book shop. Great selection of books in a brightly lit floors.
P.
Lovely shop with thousands of books with friendly helpful staff
T. B.
This place is so cool! It comes off as a sore for just Harry Potter paraphernalia but it is a Haven for nerds
E. W.
Can you even imagine walking into a bookstore with 5 floors of the most amazing books spread across every conceivable topic? One could spend hours rummaging amongst the shelves and not regret a single minute.
A. B.
Good range of books, awful cafe. The music is too loud in the cafe, it's over-priced, the cakes aren't good and the tea is never strong enough. Also the young staff changeover frequently and have no idea what they're doing or what any of …
C. H.
I always love to the many gorgeous floors of books 😍
K. A.
I love Foyles, massive choice of books, wide range, lots of space and a lovely cafe
T. C.
Large and busy, but great (though often overpriced) selection
N.
Even though it's owned by Waterstones, it's a better experience, amazing selection of books, one of the best foreign language sections I've seen on London so far, especially for russian literature. Nice section for board games and little nick-nacks etc.
I.
Wide range of children’s books! Very progressive bookstore and with student ID, there is 10% discount!
v.
Books, books, books, .... for everyone and a nice coffee shop.

Incredible place, would go again lots of books
H. N.
Well stocked bookshop in the heart of London. Has six floors altogether. A beautiful cafe on the fifth floor, and an events hosting room on the sixth. Large selection of books, and a special section for children and toys! Staff are experienced and knowledgeable. If you need any assistance, please enquire at the nearest counter. There is one on every floor. Foyles also operates a Loyalty card for guests. I manage to park my car in Soho Square today. Sometimes, I park in the Chinatown Car Park. Thank you.
g. s.
Theatre section. One of the best bookstores in London
I.

What an amazing place. I could spent hours and hours in h
This bookstore. We meant to game this place a short visit before lunch but spent over an hour in here. Enormous place, plenty of books, what more you can ask for. The prices were in my opinion but just a tiny bit higher than I expected. Overall great place whether you are looking for something specific or just trying to kill the time.
U. A.
A frequent visitor of this place. Great location and atmosphere. Perfect for those casual work meetings or if you fancy some food while going thru your daily tasks on the laptop.
Food is great and so are the beverages but I find this place slightly overpriced as compared to similar cafes. Would have given a 4.5star rating if I could.
Tip: seatings are limited and it can be an issue during the peak hours unless you dont mind sharing table with random people :)
K. A.
The best book store in London!
Thousands of books, neatky organised and easy to find, signed copies hidden amongst the shelves and easy access with a cafe on the 5th floor!
One of my favourite places to get lost in for hours :)
J. A.
Great bookshop. It has 4 floors and thankfully a cashier in each one. Very organised, it's easy to find what you are looking for by topic or author.
K. B.
Fantastic place for Books in the main. Could spend hours here browsing.
L. H.
Very large and extensive bookstore. Probably my favourite in London so far. Would highly recommend for trying to get that one book you couldn’t find, or to find something new!
J. R.
Big book shop, very interest and good prices... sometimes there are books(releses) for Half of the price
E. C.
Great bookstore, has a huge variety of books and genres, nothing more I can ask for.
K.
A cathedral to books. Loveliest staff, loveliest cafe. A must visit when in London.

J. B.
My favourite bookshop. Plenty of books!
D. C. M.

Possibly the best bookstore in London as of today
D. M.
Great bookshop in Charing Cross Road London, a book-lover's paradise.
K. W.
Amazing bookshop. We spend too much because there were so many tempting things to buy. Staff were very helpful. Can't wait to visit again.
A. S.
Spacious, clean, well stocked book store. Great atmosphere.
M. B.
Really great store. I'd be surprised if it didn't have what you were looking for.
I visited specifically to find books in Portuguese (Português) and Spanish (Español), they had a great selection.
J. M.
Best book shop in London, love the 5th floor cafe
P. B.
Huge, open and well-lit store with an impressive and diverse array of books, both common and limited edition. Friendly members of staff are happy to field questions. Plenty of choice.
N. S.
One of the last great book stores. It's a must-see for any visitor that enjoys books. Very well maintained and organised. Staff seems knowledgeable.
D. K.
It's a book lovers paradise. I could spend hours.... nope, days in here.
N. W.
Great choice, lovely café with jazz music. Over 4 floors of books and music. Great gifts ideas
A. O.
Amazing selection of books, found my fave Caribbean author there after searching other book shops defo go visit!
Approachable staff always around to assist and good customer service
E.
Foyles was overwhelming and spectacular. I could happily have spent both more time and money, aimlessly wandering its aisles. They didn’t have everything I was seeking, but there was more than enough to be found. A must-see for any reader, but be sure to have plenty of time on your hands.
K. A.
I love Foyles, massive choice of books, wide range, lots of space and a lovely cafe
M. D.
This seems to be the best book shop in London, with a great section devoted to classical music (something that all the other big shops in London miss), as well as an impressive Computer Science department.
J. F.
Massive book store. I could stay all day and become impoverished but happy
I. W.
A great book shop where I can get foreign language books
M. M.
This is literally one of the most beautiful places I've visited so far. 😍 it's like a little Heaven where you can find almost every book, have a coffee or some other treat and at the same time be surrounded by the books ❤❤
C. K.
How many books? Well organised, be nice if they had comfy chairs, but that wouldn't sell books. My guess would be 124, 267.
D. M.
Lovely bookshop but tainted by my memories of the old shop; it still had a good selection of books but it didn't compare to the idyll of my memories.
M. R.
Best bookshop in London with a cosy caffetteria on the last floor.
A. M.
i wish i had asked the workers name that helped me las time but she was so helpful with my refund, the store has sections for other languages with amazing books
I. C.
By far my favourite bookstore in London. The selection is great and it has a nice coffee shop on the fifth floor. This gets a bit crowded during the weekend but stills worth it.
B. P.
Excellent bookshop, excellent café. But overheated.
D. B.
A comprehensive range of books and a coffee shop. Plenty of people taking advantage of the free Internet.
e.
absolutely fabulous, it's built across numerous floors, each one having a different book section. has everything from fiction to non fiction, cooking to psycology. very quiet if you want to read a bit too. there's also a cafe on the 5th floor, with seating, and a small theatre and the very top floor. staff were smiling and attentive.
G. H.
Probably the most exciting bookshop in GB.
Vast range of books covering every subject.
Patient and knowledgeable staff who make you feel valued.
A must to visit when in London.
C. G.
Slightly disappointed, went in looking for a guide on Antigua and a Backgammon book and couldn't find anything on either subject!
P. P. L.
I got just the book I was looking for. I love Amazon but a trip to Foyle's is always a treat.
T. M.
A perfect stop when walking around London. Spacious with a good menu.
K. M.
Fantastic selection of books, beautiful environment and very helpful staff. Fantastic café as well
A. V.
Coffee was good but those pastries are just incredibly delicious! Wide space and cosy atmosphere so you can always find a little spot for you and your friend to sit down and take a break from exploring Foyles’ books.
S. E.
Fantastic range of books. Helpful friendly staff 🙂
C. H.
I always love to the many gorgeous floors of books 😍
H. A.
Excellent selection of books, cds, dvds and gifts.
c. (.
A wide range of books, good staff, above all things, I love the cafe in the shop.
A. P.
I found this little gem in the heart of London. Tip:go to the last floor and get the best mac and cheese.
S. a.
it had a generous amount of books and mostly manga i found mostly everything i needed
M. J.
Has a fantastic collection of foreign language books. Not just how to learn languages, but novels in other languages
Q. B.
Wow! Foyles is brilliant. Floors of books without the Waterstones kitsch, an actual bookshop. Literally and not just literary.
R. C.
Foyles is incredible, you can easily spend so much time browsing here, and there's a HUGE variety to browse through!
There's also a cafe and toilets on the 5th floor (not currently open due to COVID) - in my experience it's been very popular and usually busy but definitely worth checking out. The access facilities are good, with multiple lifts (to the left as you enter the store) and a good amount of space on every level.
B. W.
Amazing selection of books and a nice cafe area to chill and read them
C. S.
REALLY nice selection, especially when you're looking for LGBTIQ*-Books
T. C.
Large and busy, but great (though often overpriced) selection
D. S.
The modern Foyles is much better arranged and organised than in the old days (80s, 90s).
C. K.
lovely quiet environment with any book you can imagine to have
T. M.
Helpful staff even though they didn't have the book I wanted
V. B.
A very good selection of books a pleasant shopping or browsing experience would definitely recommend this store
t. w.
This bookshop has everything you could ever think to read. It's so vast there's even nice quiet areas to sit down and have a quick read. The layout is very functional too where the popular section is at the front which is the busiest part of the store and the further you go up stairs the more niche the categories gets. Ticks all the box for what a bookshop should have and more.
L. N.
Been buying books here since I was little - love it 😍
O. O.
One of my favourite spots in London. An amazing selection of books. Five floors of literary goodies. A real treasure trove.
E. P.
The space and atmosphere are nice. However, it is a bit more expensive than it should be for the portions and quality. Plus the music is a bit too loud for a bookshop cafe.
A. P.
Love it! Nice cafe and great book selection
N. N.
Brilliant range of books.
Staff very helpful, and friendly.
Will be buying all my books from here in the future.
S. B.
Largest range of books, great foreign language section.
N. M.
Amazing choice of books, accessories and stationary, kind and helpful staff, strongly recommend!
R. J.
As always a great place for books. But expensive as they are. I used to hang around the poetry section, but this time I found more of poetry written in english than translations, which was a bit disheartening. But I spend a couple of hours there whenever I go. Staff are very helpful. Wish the prices went down and they brought more translated poetry and fiction 😁
T. H.
Fantastic arrange of books. Could do with chairs to sit and look at your choice, especially if you have arthritis.
D. C.
Anything and everything you could want from a book store. If you can't find it anywhere else, it's usually here. An amazing selection on foreign language books too, including manga! (if you're into that)
M. x.
I have many memories of hanging out here as a teenager and young adult. I'm sure you can find almost any book here 📙
S. P.
Always a favorite place to browse and occasionally buy books. Well stocked in all departments at multiple levels.
P. O.
Great selection of books and well run
D. D. V.
Amazing bookshop, went for buying music scores and books. Found a fantastic variety of music for all instruments
R. T.
Absolutely fantastic bookshop right in the centre of the city. Great huge selection of titles and knowledgeable and friendly staff make this a good place to check out. The cafe is quite pleasant if a little busy and a bit on the expensive side. The only negative is that the toilets were absolutely rancid. The gents near the cafe area were utterly fetid with the smell so bad you could smell it before you even opened the door. Deep breath, quick pee and escape again while trying to not step in the suspicious looking puddles :/
H. B.
Chic, Central, and Convenient: Foyles will always be a bookworm's cave of curiocities.
M. P.
How can you NOT love Foyles.. great place to eat and books? Lovely cafe manager, nice if pricy food. Books..books and more books
L. S.
It's a nice place to go. I like the cafe on the top floor. Staff are nice and sweet.
S. t.
Really nice place with student discount and variety of books selection
V. C.
Amazing bookstore. One of my favourite places in London.
C. F.
Good selection of books for every niche, nice reading environment. Staff is helpful and friendly.
A. G.
Incredible. 5 floors of booklovers heaven. Huge selection split into different categories with super knowledgeable staff. Excellent cafe on the top floor.
r. p.
Fantastic !!! Huge choice all kinds of Literature , Music, Books Books, Books gallore.
T. C.
Despite the art gallery stylee modernisation, still a great big maze of wonderfulness.
A. H.
Great bookstore with a huge selection of books.
L. H.
I love the size of this place, The staff although friendly feel a bit aloof. They have every book you could ever need though and it's amazing
M. S.
Quirky bookshop, nice place to sit
Е. Е.
My favorite bookstore in London where on can buy any type of book! Also there is a nice coffee shop to relax after.
D. P. (.
My friend had wanted to visit this bookstore for a long time as he worked near there but knew if he walked inside he would spend too much money.
Well... He was correct, I dragged him there and when you walk inside the selection in front of your eyes is stunning.
It's a well presented bookstore, with plenty of choice no matter what you may be after. Considering the size there could be a little bit more in some sections but we did not have any troubles finding what we wanted, we also made a future book list.
c. t.
Wide range of stock, helpful staff and a UK national treasure. A world class bookstore. No visit to London is complete without spending a couple of hours and buying up an armful of great books.
R. B.
If you like the feel and smell of books this is paradise for you. One of the biggest bookshops in Europe a place where you can lost for hours and hours. Six floors covering every topic imaginable and then some! To top it off there is a beautiful restaurant on the top floor as well as a space where they bring authors to talk about their books and also conduct some workshops. Recommended
A. M.
New shop but still a great bookshop. Light bright, lovely staff and a nice cafe on the fifth floor.
L. F.
Love this place. Four generations of continuous good melodies of days well spend.
G. S.
Amazing place, huge selection of every genre and interest and the service is always great here. Guaranteed a treat!
B. D.
Proper book shop..I could spend hours in here (& Ray's Jazz)
M. B.
Well lit and carefully presented range of books on multiple floors
D. L.
Good graphic novel section including Manga.
O. E.
One of the very best bookstores in London. Inspiring to wandering around with lovely airy feel to interior and impeccably vast selection of books. The store is well kept and clean, extreamly well organised with titles easy to find and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. I always recommend this book store to anyone who is visiting London.
G. P.
Easily one of the world's most important and best bookshop. By a country mile ! Oh and let's not forget the location, on the iconic Charing X Cross Road !!
S. S.
Foyles have amazing staff! Great customer service. If you want a book and it’s not available, 99% of the time they can order it for you! The 1% is that it’s no longer in production.
My go to Bookshop! They even have an awesome Cafe on level 5! Did I mention that the staff are super cool?! Always helpful!
I love the fashion and comic section! Amazing! Not to mentioned the LG with the children section! They have so many great books and toys, a god send if you’re a primary school teacher!
Ps, they have amazing stationary and diaries/ notebooks!
H. C. F.
So bright and airy and has an excellent selection of books neatly organized into helpful collections
K. Y. S.
Always love this store's set-up. The attendants are also very helpful and quite knowledgeable about the books and topics.
A. B.
Just love books and Foyle is the best place. Refused to shop from a well known online shop, preferred a REAL bookshop.
S. R. (.
Such a great bookshop. Foyles on Charring Cross Rd is arranged over several floors. It's a great building and inside the shop is bright and welcoming.
The stock of books is tremendous and unlike many shops Foyles still maintain knowledgeable staff on all floors who are happy to help.
Recommended..
n. k.
In this place there are books from more foreign languages and in all fields you can find in this shop
A. L.
Massive bookstore. If Foyles doesn't carry it, it either doesn't exist or it's out of print. Probably the former.
N. C.
Great range of popular and niche titles for all ages. Has a great selection of manga titles as well.
J. L.
Quite and lovely bookstore on a busy street. Love the atmosphere here.
S. K.
Excellent as ever, a must to visit and take in with all that is there to look at and experience. I loved the art books section and found many books on photography which I was interested in displayed very visibly without needing to ask. The music library is always a favourite especially the jazz section.
R. A.
One of my favourite stores. Not just because it's full of books but it's a lovely space to be in (for a store).
S.
The best bookshop! I love getting lost in here and finding weird and wonderful sections. Have a dance with Foyley - the in-house skeleton.
V. D.
A large store with a huge selection of books. There's also a nice cafe on the top floor which is great for a casual get-together I would find it difficult to read here though as it is a bit noisy.
If there was one criticism I'd make, it would be that it has the feel of a library rather than a bookshop, but even saying that I'd still recommend it as a good place for any book lover to visit.
V. F.
Must see place for all book lovers. 4 floors of books. 5th floor ugly cafeteria. 6th floor auditorium.
R. M.
This is a great bookstore. Has a lovely cafe which is also a good place to work and/or have informal meetings.
D. P.
When the old Foyles went under transformation I thought it would become a commercial bookstore without character. I was wrong. Foyles was and remains one of the best bookshops in London. Great selection of books, beautiful atmosphere and nice layout. Also the food at the cafe is great; pretty much everything I have tried was very fresh and tasty.
D. B.
Best bookshop in town. Competent staff and great selection of books. I can easily get lost here. Lovely cafe on the top floor with a small arts gallery. Great light food with vegetarian options. The cafe can get very crowded on weekends but that just reflects the quality of this place.
P. v. B.
Great selection. Superb salespeople. They really know the books in their section. Prices are OK. Marvellous coffee shop, serving breakfast, lunch and tea. Very touthsome. Whenever I am in London I religiously go to Foyles and spend at least a full day from opening to closing. Totally recommend.
W. N.
The available range of books cannot be faulted, at least in the fiction section.
The non-fiction sections have changed a lot since I first visited back in the early 90's; hardly surprising as the original building has been demolished, and the purchasing options for technical works has evolved.
The music section remains excellent, with a wide range of reference works and scores.
Personally though, I preferred the erratic (or eccentric) charm of the original, rambling building. The new layout, which is easier to navigate and definitely more friendly to those with physical disabilities, feels more generic and less unique.
S. C.
Went for a browse and stayed for some cake at the cafe. Nice enough, though a bit crowded
D. W.
Huge, but spectacular bookstore with a lovely jazz area, delicious coffe shop and art exhibition space.
P. R.
Spent a really interesting and peaceful afternoon in Foyles for the first time in a year; mainly in history dept and classical CDs. Always a great selection of new items with knowledgable staff.
N. S.
My favourite bookshop in London. So many good books regarding world affairs and world history. Extensive academic journals as well as personal accounts, always very informative and helpful staff. Lovely cafe which is however frequently overcrowded. Could probably use expanding out the entire room of the cafe for extra seating.
C. W.
My favourite bookstore in London. Modern, light and airy, easy to navigate and explore the different floors. Particularly love their different book 'spotlight' areas/tables and the ever changing themes. Lovely cafe on the top floor. Could easily get lost in here for hours, discovering new books.
F. K.
One of the best bookshops ever
L. W.
I think its the BEST bookstore in London. Actually, its not a bookstore - its a bookmall! Its HUGE!!
A. S.
Such a beautiful book store, loved walking through and seeing the great variety of novels, non-fiction and educative books that were stocked. I'm clearly not alone as a cavalcade of tourists and locals were also pouring in. For a more relaxed time, I've found the second floor and up is much quieter, and you can grab a coffee from the shop at the top floor. Pretty good too!
M. S.
It's come a long way since I worked in what was Books Etc (opposite). RIP Books Etc. :-( Foyles, then, was a bit of a joke - piles of books everywhere and you could never find anything. Now it's all whitewashed coolness - mac books in the funky cafe, with your swanky coffee and drinks in Mason jars. Bit generic, but generally a comfortable experience.
T. C.
I love this book store. It has not just your traditional books of various genres but also whole sections for study books and music.
The help desk was also super lovely when I was looking for as specific item that ended up being in their basement!
Their stationery section isn't very large but it has good quality products.
M. A.
Absolutely amazing bookstore. Well organized, clean, and with a massive selection of a wide variety of books, maps, journals, and gifty things etc... the staff is also more than happy to provide recommendations and they know the store very well. For those worried about Covid-19 they have hand sanitizer stations all over the store so you can wash your hands on your way in and out (as well as through out the store)
J. D.
Great multi-story bookshop, almost as big as the Waterstones on Piccadilly Circus. Pretty good Languages section on the next-to-last floor.
P.
Great range of books (lots of Manga), a coffee shop and customer WiFi.
G. G.
Went to the cafe at Foyles for a small bite eat. The food doesn't disappoint and is very yummy. The current toilet situation needs some work as there seems to be only one toilet available for the cafe and whole store. Long wait time - not ideal.
K. H.
Love how expansive this book shop is. And how well organised it is with people knowing their sections well and able to offer advice or refer where necessary. Bit pricey but worth it for the joy of being in a bookshop and able to peruse again! Keep supporting bookshops so we don't lose them!
M. H.
It is one of the most complete and largest bookstores in London.
S.
Love this shop. My all time favourite bookshop. Love the wide selection of books, from arts to politics.
C. D.
Always has the book I’m looking for, and staff are always friendly and helpful.
B. H.
Wde ranging selection of books and classical CDs.
G. S.
Boy this has changed since l used to go there in the 60's and 70's. In those days it was like going into a big library. Now it's vibrant, full of people really appreciating the.books and atmosphere. There is a great food area all very clean lines .People on their laptops or reading. Food good coffee great.
K. D.
Still one of the best bookstores in the world, along with Waterstones in Gower St. Highly recommend the Jazz shop upstairs, good prices and vast selection.
R. S.
Amazing huge established bookstore!
I had gotten used to their old quirky location (with lots of small corners), but this new location seems to be just as big, and feels a lot more spacious/airy (more like a Borders/Barnes & Noble, which is a good thing).
Still got a cafe on the top floor too.
T. H.
Giant bookshop containing not only all books but also sheet music, a good classical music department and a cafe with pistachio chelsea buns in it. I went in there looking for Ethel and Ernest by Raymond Briggs and the staff knew exactly where it was.
C. M.
Amazing bookstore. So many floors, so many sections and a great coffee shop. They have a lot of books in foreign languages (from Spanish to Hebrew, Japanese, Russian, Romanian and everything in between). The Cortado I had in the cafe was lovely. Would definitely recommend it to any book lover.
L. R.
Too. Much. Choice. I could honestly browse in here all day and inevitably spend way too much. Specific sections aren't too difficult to find either, in spite of the many floors!
C. M.
Fantastic collection of almost everything you could want. Upper floors tend not to have enough staff and could do with opening more tills when it is busier.
C. T.
Nice place. Will go again. Loads of space, good coffee, all you need really. Well, all I need anyway
A. R.
This library is huge. The biggest in all of London. They have a wide variety of books. But the store is so big it's almost impossible to find a actual book. And their isn't much help. But on the last floor their is a cool Cafe full of students. You can even read the books you have not even bought yet. They have really good home made juices. If you want to relax and be around books this is the perfect place. I really enjoyed this store
R. O.
Always quite excellent for its sheer range of books.
L. G.
Perfect for all kinds o book lovers
C. L.
Excellent shop with a fantastic range of books (over five floors!) Anything they don't have can most likely be ordered in also.
They have everything from the classical drama of Sophocles to the latest popular paperbacks. They also sell rare first/limited editions of some books which is great for hard core book lovers!
Best of all the staff are friendly and knowledgeable which is refreshing.
P. A. G.
Annoying now because of social distancing plenty of space but hard to get a seat, food is always amazing tho the cakes have been made with a lot of effort

Amazing multistory bookstore close to the tube. Regardless of what type of book you want, Foyles is sure to have it.
S. T.
One of the biggest book store I visited and the layout is very friendly. Great collection of books and helpful and knowledgeable staff.
To top it off they have a cafe on the top floor. Not sure u want to buy a book take it to the cafe and check it out without being constantly asked to move or pushed.
B. F.
Best bookshop in London! Their selection of books is amazing (especially the language section) and the staff is always very knowledgeable and helpful.
T. T. C.
Still the best English bookstore in the world. Staff mainly by locals. Nowhere like it in the world!
H. A.
Great bookstore for all your reading needs, has about everything from every genre including a small section for manga and comics. It even has a floor dedicated to children books. It has an entire floor also dedicated to classical music which you can listen to if you would like. Loved it and highly recommend it for anyone to visit. There's a little piece for everyone that's why it's a great place.
T. D.
This book store is absolutely awesome. Five floors of every genre you can imagine, as well as CDs, DVDs, sheet music, and a cafe on the top floor. There is a whole floor of nonfiction with an extensive history selection and an excellent children's book section. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable and will help you find whatever you're looking for. I yes definitely one of the largest bookstores around and worth stopping by to browse and for a snack at the cafe.

Great book shop ,and well laid out.

A huge book store, what's not to like? A truly impressive selection of titles, with something for everyone. The kind of place you'll wish you'd found sooner, and will go back to again and again.
T. K.
Love this bookshop! Great design and selection of books. The staff is really informed and passionate about books which helps as well if you're looking for suggestions.
The cafe at the top floor is also a sight to see, with a decent selection of coffee and cakes. There is also a nine small art gallery next to the cafe which is nice to have a quick wander. It's usually very busy though so you may have to share a table with a stranger if you want to sit.

This place is a reader's paradise. Whenever I'm having a problem finding a book, I know they'll have it in store. They have just about everything you could think of and more; plus, they always have great games and other collectibles that make for perfect gifts as well. The staff is wonderful, never shying away from any question or quests you have for them in order for you to be satisfied. Always amazed to go there.
D. J.
Huge bookshop over several floors, however I mainly visit for CDs. Great classical section on the second floor, which slot has independent and arthouse movie DVDs. The secondhand classical CD section is a real lifeline, particularly whilst Notting Hill Classical Music Exchange is closed for the foreseeable future due to flooding.
R. H.
Lovely and charming book store across several flores, finished with a cosy cafe to find some quiet time
J. P.
Love Foyles bookshop. It's the best. I always look at the staff recommendations on the third(?) Floor. 👍😀
D. D.
Favorite book shop in London. They mostly always have the books I'm looking for. And most importantly, the cafe upstairs is an amazing spot to read, work or eat. The atmosphere is calm, there are lots of tables, music is jazz and they play Christmas music during the holiday season. Lovely place. Book wise, there is always someone ready to help you find the book you're looking for. Highly recommend Foyles, on charring cross. x
S.
Great book store, well organised. Staff are informative, if a little lacking in the customer service skill set.
R. Y.
Fantastic traditional well stocked bookshop, with very helpful staff. It's lovely to be able to browse the extensive range, but beware, you're almost certain to find something you hadn't anticipated buying in addition to what you had intended purchasing. There's a great children's department at the rear of the ground floor.
E. C.
One of the best bookshops in London with a very wide selection of books on several floors. Also here is a lovely cafe. Always a pleasure to visit this clean, well managed shop staffed by friendly helpful staff. Well worth a visit if you're around Charing Cross road.
D. E. S.
My favourite book store in London. Everything is great in this shop. Very well organised! Stuff is very friendly and helpful. Love this place! Highly recommended to everyone who loves spending some time in a book store and buying great books. Also perfect place to find gifts. Just 2 minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road Station.
R.
One of the best book stores In London, worth traveling for it in my opinion. More than 3 floors with all kinds of genres, including a whole floor dedicated to other languages. Really great, plus there's a café!
R. C.
It's a lot nicer than back in the day when it was run by this crazy lady with her unique bookkeeping system where you had to queue up 3 times to buy the same book. The interior has been completely renovated. How they make enough money selling books to occupy that prime spot is a mystery to me so get down there and enjoy it while you still can.
I. Q.
You love books, you love coffee and you love being in a crowded bookshop with tourists (or maybe you are a tourist). Or, may be you just like sniffing new books (you filth!)
This is a great Foyles branch. Coffee available, food too. Books on all topics and genres (maybe not BDSM, I didn't check).
The staff are very friendly and the prices are reasonable.
E. F.
A fantastic book shop with plenty of selection. Spacious aisles result in a great space for both browsing shelves and checking out books in peace, especially for such a large and bustling store. This is definitely my go to place for foreign language books with a huge selection of books from all over the world, even in more obscure languages that I struggle to find anyway else.
M. A.
Best book shop in London. Great variety of almost anything. In the 5th floor the caffe its really nice. They don't have comfortable sits to sit and relax while going through the books like other stores but apart from that is my favourite
A. S.
Iconic London bookstore which has withstood the test of time, it was redesigned a few years ago and has a more modern look and feel to it now. There's several floors with a wide range of genres. If you haven't been before and are looking for a book in this area, you've got to go visit
F. J.
The world's largest bookshop!
R. G.
Is this bookstore what dreams are made of? They have everything, and I mean everything you will ever need to read in your entire life. The specialty sections are especially good -- I work in theatre & film and I always find those sections to be well stocked. The staff are happy to answer any questions. The cafe can get quite busy however
K. G.
Lovely cafe in one of the best bookstores in london.
T. L.
It's a body book shop mate. It sells books and does that well
M. Y.
A wonderful home for book lovers. The store is huge and has a wide selection of books. It's also nicely laid out by theme then writer name to male finding what you want is. I went in to buy some children's books and was daunted by the task but it only took me a few minutes to find them.
My only gripe is price though. I found all the books I needed, but I had earlier also seen them all on Amazon for less than half the price which was disappointing.
E. W.
Favourite bookstore! A must visit for my family whenever we travel to London. YA section is phenomenal! Would love it if the cafe was expanded on the 5th floor. Always heaving. Hard to get a seat. But do try. Cakes and Coffee lovely. Great place for writing.
Y. A.
An oasis in the centre of London. Plenty of quiet zones to browse, read, work and relax. Traditionally one of the most well stocked central bookshops in London and with lots of niche book categories to lose yourself into.
S. K.
Happened to cross by and went in after work...best hour spent in a bookshop! The little benches and seating areas give it a library vibe and the selection of books are pretty good. Only been to Ground and Lower Ground floors and it was amazing. Would definitely go again.
P. H.
Books are great but food selection in cafe was not great. Although the soup was very good!
S. M.
Not visited the shop in 10 years. A good selection of SF/Fantasy books
M. S.
I needed a book , tried amazon and also ,e Bay. The price was nowhere less than 40 to 60 pounds ,and two weeks time . Idea crossed my mind ,why not try Foyles .did.and within an hour got an e,mail , was able to collect next day . The price I was to pay almost 20.00 pounds .but I was given further discount .why and what kind of discount, still don't know . Anyway I paid 16.99 . What else I can say , great service ,great book shop.
J. S.
Amazing selection of books (4 floors of them and the top floor is a cafe). The books range from things you'd find anywhere to less well known things. Prices are reasonable, and even at times the same or cheaper than online. It's like a treasure trove to explore. If you're a fan of books and reading carve out a few hours to explore!
N. D.
Flagship store with five or more floors of books covering an incredibly vast amount of subjects. Has an amazing cafe with great space. Full of MacBook workers, older folk, tourists. The staff have actually been very helpful on my trips there. I go there for the vast range of art books, photography books, and magazines.
S. B.
Favourite bookshop.
Staff reviews on new titles, benches to sit down and have a read, large selection of “alternative” magazine titles like Gentlewoman and Toilet Paper magazine make this one of the best bookshops in London.
Also the upstairs cafe is lovely.
S. A.
The big London book shop and one of the most calming places in London
J. S.
Now one of the great pleasures of London. A lovely bookshop with in-depth stock. Particularly strong on the arts, film, theatre and music, as you would expect from its location. Also stocks classical and jazz CDs and lots of obscure DVDs. Nice staff too.
N. D.
A temple for all book lovers. The books are really cheap. Cheaper than online.
H. H.
Beautiful place. Heaven for booklovers
S. P.
Just the best bookstore in London. Really knowledgeable staff who will go out of their way to help you. The layout is sensible and we'll structured, but still allows for the serendipitous discovery of new books that makes or breaks a great bookstore. Can easily spend hours here. Decent cafe on the top floor too.
J. S. Y.
There are various books. I got a great pop-book related star wars as a souvenir.
All staff are kind. thanks!
A. S.
This is easily one of the most dedicated bookshops in London, it has the largest range of books from different genres and covers plenty of specific areas of interests for book lovers of all tastes.
I enjoy visiting it sometimes not just to buy but to browse through the different floors to see what new books I can come across as they're always adding to their vast library of books. The space is well designed and despite the vastness doesn't feel ovewhelming. There's a café as well to grab a bite to eat and just take a break.
Staff are easy to locate they're usually at the counter or in the aisles stocking shelves etc..they will drop what they're doing and assist you with any of your queries regarding a specific book or title. I've been assited numerous times by many if the staff here who helped me locate my books, if they don't have a specific title in stock they can order it for you in-store.
D. I.
Let's call it what it is - a greatest London bookshop, not as messy as before a major refurbishment but still the same great selection. A cafe and exhibition space at the top is a lovely addition. The focal point for my family over three generations.
J. B.
Huge selection of books! The place is clean and well organized. The staff is super friendly and nice.
Foyles is the greatest book store experience ever!
It's a welcoming environment and I will keep going back. I wish more places were like this one.
T. V. H.
Beautifully organised and a pleasure to go through each floor of well-stocked shelves. Absolutely love going through the graphic novels and the sci-fi novels. The bookshop comes complete with a mini gallery that they change up every now and again and an amazing cafe.
L. G.
Amazing London book shop. I think there were about 5 floors of book, every time you could ever want. On the top floor there is a cafe/working space which was great, also a toilet. There is a lift as well as you go into the shop at the back on the left. Really helpful staff, very knowledgeable about where to find what you're looking for. Also spotted some great comic London based books.

I get lost in the experience, like being in my own candy heaven

Been a while I took the time being in a book store. I was visiting London with my wife and good friends and they really like reading books. And I mean... They go through 30+ books a year. I like reading a s much as any sane person but the are really into it.
Anyways. It was near the end of the day so I was very tired and I have to admit... i took the first seat and did not move.
As far as I could see, they have quite an extensive selection. My wife and friends were busy for over an hour.
Go here
It's a good place to buy books
L.
I always enjoy coming here, such an extensive and vast range of interesting subjects to get into. Well organised and staff have always been very friendly!
G. 2.
This is a must go place for all book worms. There isn't a book I was ever in need for, that Foyles did not have. The staff are friendly and outgoing. There seats around the store where you can sit down quietly and read. The cafe isn't bad; the food and drinks are reasonably priced. The only downside to the Cafe is that majority of the seating isn't comfortable and it gets easily packed.
A. C.
An excellent book store with a excellent cafe!
L. C.
One of my favourite spots in London. An enormous bookshop with excellent choice, everything is laid out logically and there are always interesting titles dotted around the shop on displays, recently they had a collection of books by authors included in Trump's "Muslim ban", which I thought was a great idea. The cafe on the top floor is also good, a bit pricey but very nice vibes with lots of people working away, friends meeting and book club meetings and the like! A great place for a bookshop lover to spend an hour or two.
K. V.
Foyles is in a class of its own. A London landmark, its one of the biggest book shops in the city and every genre is cohesively represented. Plus music!
H. H. (.
Stunning collection of books. I am personally fond of the foreign language section. You can find books in many languages, not only exercises or textbooks, but also readers in that language. Certainly one of the best bookshops in the world. The gift section is a bit lacking of products, I would recommend a greater variety of peripheral products.
H. K.
The most favourite book shop in London!! Staffs are friendly, well-organized books, also they have a nice cafe:) but that salad and lasagna...Hmm.....:(
Coffee and bread were nice!
N. M.
Biggest and best chain style bookshop in town.
Staff are helpful and kind and each section is massive so the choice is endless.
Multi story so make sure that you check the signs for which floors you need.
The lifts are the best easy to go between floors as it is such a big store.
Always found what I'm looking for here and generally leave with more books than I had intended on purchasing when I went in!
A. S.
Superb book selection. Heart of London
A. B.
Found some versions of books I was searching for ages so that was a bonus. But I prefer Waterstones Piccadilly
C. C.
This IS the best bookshop in London. I never leave without buying at least one book, fiction or not. Sometimes I go in looking for one book and something completely different takes my fancy. It's four stars because, be warned, the cafe on the 5th Floor is very expensive.
E. B.
best bookstore ever visited within Europe. superb selection and very knowledgeable staff. I don't know how they do it but every time I leave with more books and gifts then intended and 20+ books in my notes. inspirational for other bookstores.
J. K.
As a traveller, I always visit the bookstore or library of the city. It is a large bookstore and there are lots of books and stationery. I liked it!
I. W.
London's best bookshop. Extremely wide range of books across at least five floors. If you cannot find what you want here, I don't know where you would go! Great cafe as well.
