Reviews of Kensington Central Library

Currently using the reference library and computers a lot. Superb big screens, helpful staff, good clear signs for reference sections. Great place to work. The only sadness it is busy than i hoped.

A big library and also pretty big study area with loads of seat options (as long as you come early). Usually very quite in study area, but the librarians always talk SO loud, whilst members of the public are the ones whispering.....makes no sense ngl.
Saw someone who left the library for a bit (to get lunch/go toilet) and left their books on the desk. But the security/librarian just came, removed the books, and let someone else sit in their space. Disrespectful if you ask me! :D
but anywho the black security downstairs by the entrance super friendly!

Thanks again for help me MUZ to print my pdf .
She was really helpful and polite , in first floor .
Definitely recommend this library .

Staff are nice and friendly and study area has multiple desks for work, however many people inside the library, often elderly people shout constantly in the SILENT study area, and the librarians do nothing about getting them to quieten down a bit. People working at desks are expected to be quiet but others looking for newspapers can be as loud as they want.

I went to an event with author Ben Aaronovitch, really interesting approach to a talk, and very entertaining

A spacious library with all the necessities of technology. Wheelchair accessible. Electronic opening and closing doors. There are lifts inside going from basement to 2nd floor). There are also toilet facilities for all. Helpful Staff always ready at hand to assist. No refreshments or canteen as food and drink banned from the Library. (To avoid ruining the books, the desks, the carpet, etc.). I have been a Member since time immemorial

An excellent library with a very good reference section upstairs. Good to see a traditional library still functioning as it purports to be and not turned into a pseudo drop in community place where the books have been decimated and overrun with screaming children and adults shouting into mobile phones. A very good selection of books and helpful staff. A silence policy is in force and long may it remain so. Recommended for all serious library users.

The building is nice and the staff very kind.
The tables have not sockets to charge your laptop, and the chairs are a bit low for the tables, so you cannot find a comfortable position to study or use the computer.
The area is quite and people is usually respectful and silent.

Fantastic Library! just love this place, wonderful helpful staff no matter how busy it gets, loads of interesting talks, events and online info/additional learning you can make use off. Opening hours are decent, with easy access just across the road from the tube. This building has been a personal lifeline to me since loosing my job, not only as an essential means to assist me in looking for work, but finding learning/improvement courses to hopefully improve my employability chances and as a calm haven so I can be around other people to stop me feeling so lonely & isolated in this city. Many thanks for
the services provided, one of many exceptional libraries.

I'm not at all from the area, I visited for the Frankenstein walk and found it most interesting! The staff was really lovely and the environment beautiful.

Great place to "work from home". Since becoming self-employed I have been going there a lot to get on with my admin work without distractions. Very helpful staff too, especially Nina who is always kind and happy to help!

Friendly helpful staff and an excellent children's section. Plenty of computer terminals upstairs, so you can often get a slot even if you didn't book in advance. Efficient online and phone renewals service.

Good library, in need of some renovation. There are always people sleeping there, children’s room is often loud with teenagers.

Good for my needs, perhaps not complete but definitely not the worst. Quiet, clean .. Hard to beat even those two things at times.

There can be much noise when trying to study as it is very packed.
It would need someone to enforce silence for the other's benefit.
