It's a nice big store but staff never seem like they want to help. I wanted advice on getting a fish tank and all the set up and also what live plants would be best and they seemed to have little to no knowledge at all. Ended up being a pointless trip.

Excellent branch of Pets at Home. We use this regularly and the staff are both friendly, knowledgeable, and engaged. Good range of products: the dog food selection is like the British Library reading room; fresh tripe from the freezer is always appreciated. I wouldn’t recommend the Vets4Pets service here though, or at any Pet’s at home; despite the vets being great, there’s too much emphasis on pressure sales of unnecessary treatments to engorge their corporate income stream.

And after the excellent care and fantastic treatment from the Groom Room, Dita definitely deserved a glam new collar, lead & harness for being such a good girl 😊 Her claws were far too long and she was in pain b4 attending here. The lady was very caring and clever whilst clipping her claws, so much that my girl didn't even realise what she was doing 😊🐶 one very well happy dog indeed. Thank you again.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Molly at Blackheath Branch for her excellent Customer Service skills in dealing with a delivery issue i had when i ordered a fish tank stand online and i requested that it will be delivered to my flat but somehow the delivery company decided to send it to a pick up store which is quite far from where i live so Molly quickly phoned the delivery company to deliver to my residence and she called me back as she promised.

Lovely open store. Loads of space to maintain social distancing. They also have security on the door to ensure a certain amount of people in the shop at one time. Hand sanitizer is readily available on the door for the public to use upon entering. Staff are very helpful and polite and the vets for pets upstairs is also still open.

Very friendly staff here, they know animals and they know their products. If you are a new pet owner they will offer you a lot of support. One of the best things is meeting other puppies when you come in. The loyalty card and app often have offers and discounts, it's worth checking beforehand. There is a pick and mix treat section and free treats for your dog. They have a large amount of Flexi leads to try, and you can often let your dog try out the toys before purchasing. I found this store much better than the nearby Old Kent road in terms of service.

Can never fault Pets at Home in Blackheath. My 5 year old Dalmatian Dita was so excited to the visit. We were in urgent need to have her claws clipped at the Groom Room, but the weekend was a tad busy and short staff but fear not, we went again for our successful last visit and my girl has always been nervous with the claws at the vets, whom stressed her out last time. But all our praises go to the groomer who was working til the end on monday 29th July and came out in front of the desk and while both of us fussing her and licking me, she was so quick that Dita weren't even aware her claws being clipped and took less than a minute to do!! It was amazing to see the relief and happiness on Dita's face 😍😍 she was bouncing around as if she'd just bought a new pair of sketchers lol so her treat was the most fabulous campest new collar and lead rainbow style, and red harness!!! So highly recommend and wish I could remember the lovely Groomers name.

It's hardly the Hamleys of pet care, but as a dedicated pet store with a wide range of good quality products it is very good. The staff are very informed and genuinely want the best for your pet, often making recommendations on what you are purchasing, offering better deals and useful tips. It could be a bit more exciting as a destination, but that is bigger issue facing the brand as a whole.

The facilities and stock which this store has is fantastic. Every time I go in I always seem to leave with something new for my bunny.. But thankfully a lot of it isn't very expensive. I was using their vets yesterday and the lady who seen to my bunny was an absolute delight, a Spanish lady, full of beans! The staff on the floor are full of knowledge. In particular the female manager, I have pestered her a few times with daft questions but she is more than happy to help.

i fell out of love with this shop they seemed to be going down hill I thought they'd go bankrupt they were so grim but after a year or 2 away I went back and they have improved. the shops cleaner staff more helpful and prices reasonable or even cheaper on many occasions than other shops so I'm.now a regular shopper again. well done.

I've been coming here for about two years now and all of the staff are super friendly, knowledgable and you can tell they care about the animals. In particular, Barry went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and prepare me to adopt one of their gerbils. He has had gerbils himself and was able to walk me through how to care for them and give me lots of tips. Thanks again for all your help :)

Very pleased with the grooming service my Bichon Frise received yesterday. She looks amazing....the best she's ever looked and not clipped too short, which often happens so her skin shows. Seems like an ok pet store, has a variety of pet items. Originally went to buy a dwarf hamster and reluctantly came back with two, after being pressured to buy 2 as they didn't want an odd number of hamsters left alone. As expected I eventually had to separate my hamsters as they started to fight as they reached maturity, and this is common in dwarf hamsters. They rarely live together in harmony. Ended up having to buy another cage etc etc.

I Went to the groom room few times before but without been impressed with the finishing of my dog Haircut (bits of fur still long in some places) But this time my dog was book with a young lady call Angel and the cut was sooooo good i was very impressed. She did a full complete consultation first and ask lots of questions of how i would like the cut to look like and if i had any specific request for the shape of the face/ears/tails. My dog look so cute after that :-) even Jacqui look like she loves her new haircut :-0 Angel told me she was a perfectionist and trust me she is and all of that with a smile! We take Bella , our little Bichon Frise girl to Blackheath Pets At Home Groom Room and we always ask for Angel . Bella absolutely hates getting wet and groomed and before we found Angel she would shun both my husband and me for atleast a couple of days if we took her grooming . We have seen Bella being groomed by Angel since they have these huge glass windows at Blackheath and I couldn't believe that Bella was licking and playing with Angel all the while she was grooming her 😊 She stills goes in kicking and crying to the Groom Room but she comes out looking absolutely gorgeous and absolutely delighted to see us ( no shunning us anymore ) . Angel recommends us the cut we should go for , summer and winter and so on , she is great and I would highly recommend her to anyone who has a little fuss monster when it comes to grooming .
