Cant beat this on price, some great wool blends. It's quite warehousey so be prepared to dig as its not always well-labelled and a pretty finite stock

What an incredible place. A HUGE variety of fabrics, all generally around £2-£5 per m. The people that were there were all incredibly nice, but will leave you to browse for as long as you like. I never felt rushed like I do at a lot of other London fabric stores which I really appreciated. The haberdashery section didn't have very much, but what they did have was, again, very well priced. I'll definitely be coming back here many times in the future!

What a great warehouse of fabrics! So many options and the prices are low - £7 a metre for linen is pretty unheard of. Cash only, there's a free cash machine inside a newsagents on Mare St. Will definitely return to Woolcrest for fabrics and inspiration.

Offers a great variety of fabrics for extremely affordable prices. Good for students and young designers who use fabrics for experiments and don't want to spend a fortune. The staff is normally busy organizing stock so don't expect them to treat you like royalty - simply approach them with a friendly attitude and you'll be able to get fabric swatches and discounts. The only downside is the cash-only policy.

Great hidden fabric warehouse, with a huge range of fabrics. Be prepared to browse unless you know exactly what you're looking for. No minimums so greatfor students and independent dressmakers, but also good for wholesale. Cheap prices and helpful staff.

The store has an amazing variety of materials and prints,but it is very messy and you would be expected to look for most of the stuff yourself. I was very hesitant to go to the store myself after reading the previous comments about the rude staff. I brought my boyfriend for moral support(yes, i am a wuss) and i STRONGLY recommend you do so too! the store guys could be really rude depending on their mood and could be super reluctant to even help take down a material for you. So you have been warned! Bring a sturdy, emotionally stable friend along!

Loads of fabrics - but sometimes dirty fabrics, if it’s dirty they will give you extra for free 👌 Approach the workers nicely and you will be served nicely , that’s simple 👍

It took me a while to go i was nervous about the bad reviews but i must say i totally do not get them! I found this place amazing, of course it s a big mess but that s the beauty of it, you could literally stay hours there(and what s wrong with that?!). The prices are unbelievable, i expected affordable but this is plain cheap! Even in Sri Lanka i didnt get those bargains. The service was perfect to me, genuinely nice man helped me throughout and i will go back for sure !!

i love this place - a true treasure trove for the sewist - and these guys. ignore the 'bad service' reviews, i think it probably says more about the attitude of the reviewer than then attitude of the staff. i've been going here for years and they are no nonsense, old school london. i alway come out with twice as much as i said i would buy but having spent half as much as i would have elsewhere. top dollar place. long may it remain!

Probably the best place for fabrics,i mean very good fabrics also at affordable prices. Just too much.i always like to pay visit anytime that i am around east London.should you need help ask Ali. He is always willing to help.you would not regret your visit.

Amazing and hilarious experience. They have so much, I actually found exactly the kind of particular stiff white, non wrinkly fabric i needed. The staff is funny, warm, and going there with a bit of time is better than in a rush.

Want fabric? They got it. You can practically swim in any textile you want and they'll cut it to any size you want. And even if you don't want any, it's an interesting enough place to just browse and wonder at all the things you could make if only you had the time.
