Great service and a great selection. We were able to demo the machine we were interested in and given expert detail on all available options. Staff were friendly, knowledgable and courteous. They have a service department and a wide range of sewing machines and materials. We will be going back for project materials and services as and when needed. We need more independent retailers like this.

I rang yesterday regarding the needle threader on my Janome 9450, Bambers put a new threader in the post first class, it arrived the next morning and the machine is as good as new again, the service I received was absolutely faultless from the receptionist to the service engineer who did me video on how to change the needle threader, what fantastic after sales service from a very trusted trader. Serena Scott-Baron Today I visited Bamber Sewing Machines...what an absolute dream of a shop. Gazed in awe and wouldn't have known where to start but was immediately greeted by such a helpful lady. An hour or so later, after advice, discussion and demonstration I was very excited to order a fabulous Janome. Thank you Serena, your recommendation was great for me and I know I will be a regular customer for the lovely fabrics and accessories too. 😃 I recommend Bamber’s to someone on the Sewing Bee Facebook group. Our Experience with his company has been absoultely fantastic. Extremely helpful friendly and fast on their despatch. From the minute you phone up the staff are very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. I recently took my inherited sewing machine in for a service and its come back like new. I was contacted with a quote about what needed doing first and the whole process was completed within a week of me dropping it in despite summer being their busiest period for repairs. Great customer service and highly recommended. I didnt make it upstairs to the haberdashery on this visit but I will next time!

Just took my machine is this afternoon and the gentleman who runs the shop looked at my machine for me as it had been snapping threads, and also showed me the best settings for it. It turns out it was likely down to me using cheap thread and so he very kindly didn't charge me anything. The shop also had a haberdashery upstairs which was well stocked and the lady there was also very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

After her rather old mechanical sewing machine came to the end of its life, my wife was in need of a replacement to supplement the computerised one she bought from Bambers around 18 years ago. Steve spent lots of time with us discussing the relative benefits of different machines. His knowledge of the history, construction and practical benefits of each machine is extensive, and really helped in deciding which model to choose. As you'd expect from a very well-established family firm, there was absolutely no hard sell -- just useful information to help us decide which model to choose. Maggie, too, was as helpful, readily sharing her own knowledge and experience. What's lovely about Bambers is their focus on helping people get and use what's right for them, rather than simply trying to make a sale. Their after-sales service is, as you'd expect, second to none. As it happens, prices are extremely competitive too, which is very welcome! With life-long support for any machine bought from Bambers, there's absolutely nothing not to like about this fabulous firm!

I called the store today. the staff were excellent answering my queries, I'm so glad I bought local and not online from ebay ect, I was showed how to use and thread the machine I rang about , as I'd been nervous about getting threading wrong, customer service within the store is fantastic all the help you need is right there, and I have been told I am welcome to ring store if I have any questions about the machine. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone wishing to purchase as I enjoyed my visit Thank you to all of the Bamber staff :)

Brilliant company. Never seen so many machines threaded up and waiting to go. They don;t just try and sell you the most expensive either.I will be going back to buy some extras for my new Bernina. I use a sewing machine a lot and was a bit worried about having to chose a new one but they were so helpful. Thanks to husband for buying it forme at short notice.
