This is a great aquatics shop. The shop's focus is on fish and reptiles. Upstairs, has lots if different reptiles and fish and pet products. They have everything to do with fish and reptiles. Including a room that's dedicated to fish tanks/aquariums. There is a limited range for dogs, cats, rabbits etc... products. The first time I went in the shop, I didn't realise there was a downstairs... Wow, was I surprised when I went down. There were lots of marine, tropical and cold water fish. It's like being in an actual aquarium, minus the sharks, haha. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. It's a busy shop which it deserves to be. I was impressed with all the tanks they had and the room downstairs with them all in. There's some beauties... Well recommended. It's worth travelling to!

This is my go to shop for all of my pet food and supplies! Lovely staff, and a wide selection of everything you'll be needing including live animals! This shop can keep the animals in decent cages whilst they are waiting to be sold, which is my favourite part.

Great shop with everything you could want for fish. I have marine aquariums and they have a great selection of fish and some stunning corals. Never had any issues and spent thousands here. Also very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great prices too, can check prices on Internet before hand but can't find cheaper anywhere.

The staff we're so knowledgeable, and helpful getting us set up for our snake's bioactive viv up grade. We went for reptile supplies, and they definitely do reptiles as well as aquariums. Got the terrarium, lighting, substrate, springtails and a couple pieces of decor from them. Pretty sure we will be heading back in the future.

This place is great for all my tropical aquarium and turtle needs. They even have stuff for my dog. All the staff are friendly and offer to help with all your questions. The store looks great after the new refurb of the Marine section, there is a great selection of fish and coral and all look really healthy! Also the prices all very reasonable even the dry goods in store are at internet prices. The staff are all very helpful and have really helped to transform the place. Job well done. I'm sure the Mrs won't be happy when I keep coming home with bags but she's never happy anyway so..... 😆👍

Had the pleasure of popping in this shop yesterday needing some supplies for my freshwater fish tank. Being a novice, I was unsure of what I needed but the huge amount of knowledge and friendliness the staff had to offer to me was amazing. Our go-to pet shop for good advice and quality food especially of rats for our ball python but also for our fish and hamster. They also sell food and supplies for most common pets like dogs, cats, birds etc. The staff is nice and knowledgeable, the shop clean and the few animals they have are in good quality vivariums, it's great to have this shop round the corner from us. Car park behind the shop but there are also a few spaces at the front.

This LFS while being 110 miles away from my home was great. I ordered an Oak Style Aqua One 230. I love the tank however the light unit broke after 6 weeks. I contacted the shop online at first and struggled to get much communication. I called them and all the issues were solved in 4 days. I got a brand new light unit in addition to buying a new Oase Biomaster Therma 600. I took a tour of their fish setup and there was a great choice and they looked outstanding. Especially the German rams. I will be using this company again. Even with the distance issue. I only rated 4 stars due to the slight communication delays.

Urmston Aquatics are absolutely great, my wife bought me the Blagdon Affinity half moon pond for Christmas 2020 and I set the pond up in March 2021. In December 21 I had a fault with the transformers supplying the pump and the UVC lamp, we contacted Urmston Aquatics and explained the unfortunate situation. The guy we spoke to could not be more helpful, he run through all the possible issues and solutions, which I tried without success. He immediately offered to replace the transformer for the pump and asked if I could package and send back the transformer for the UVC. Within 5 days I received a new pair of transformers without any fuss at all and with a 2 year warranty too, now that's what I call a fantastic service and awesome customer service hence the 5 star rating. I will surely recommend Urmston Aquatics to all . Thank you very much ....... Tony Hutchings

Have always been impressed by the fish selection, but recently they've redone the reptile section - I am seriously impressed. Have clearly done a lot of research and put a lot of time into making beautiful and species-appropriate bioactive enclosures - which means they're well-equipped to inform customers of proper, non minimalistic reptile care. The staff are super helpful and nice, and the prices of animals and equipment are not bad at all. If I could give this place 10 stars out of 5 I would!

I ordered a bespoke fish tank from urmston aquatics and I couldn't of asked for better. They have made my tank to the exact specifications not a single MilliMeter out of place. Urmston aquatics taken my order over email and the professionalism was superb I was able to come and look at the tanks progression and all the staff are really friendly an helpful, when it came to delivery the staff helped me get the tank to my flat. The fish they have are all super healthy and full of colours, the have a range of fish from axolotls to diamond sturgeons there's also a great selection marine fish and corals They also sell gerbals and reptiles from small reptiles to big reptiles. Bought some foam backgrounds for the new fish tank online at ~10pm (free standard delivery) next day, around 8:30am I had a call from them asking if I'd be home that day as they had a van coming my way so they'd bring them up rather than sending them through the post where they may break. Great place for marine, everyone is so helpful and friendly, very happy to spend the time with you and answer any questions you have. Their knowledge on aquatics is spot on. I have purchased from them for a while now and nothing is too much trouble. Myself and my wife live in Northern Ireland and have travelled over to collect the livestock from them, they always go out of their way to facilitate us and package the corals and fish perfectly for their long journey home, all livestock are healthy and we have never to date had any losses. As for pumps and filters ect we have bought from them over the phone we have never had any issues, all products were packaged correctly and delivered on time (we ordered a pump months ago from a supplier from Nothern Ireland as we needed it urgently, to date that supplier never got in in, supposedly on back order. Urmston Aquatics were able to source it for me and had it delivered within a couple of days) Can’t give them enough praise, great job lads and thanks for all your help, not many places would go out of their way like you do. PS. The scallops, shrimps and corals made it back safely last night and are happy in their new tank!!!

I was very impressed when we first entered.The fish were down stairs and they looked clean and healthy with a good chose. On going back upstairs however ,I was confronted with a large glass fronted freezer containing frozen rats and mice.Probably hundreds piled up with labels.Although I am aware that these are fed to certain reptiles I consider this an inappropriate way of selling.My granddaughter of 8 would have been terribly upset and I wouldn't recommend sensitive children being taken in this shop.Otherwise I would probably rated 5 star.

Sometimes you only find out how good a business is when something goes wrong. My package arrived on time but it was obvious from the shape that it was wrong. A very similarly named item had been sent in error. Once I reported the error the effort to put it right has been outstanding. Some of my emails have been responded to out of normal business hours, they told me the location of my nearest parcel drop off for the return and sent the replacement by next day delivery. Superb service, website bookmarked, hope to put more business their way in the future.

Excellent customer service, rapid delivery and quality products. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and will go above and beyond to advise or assist you in anyway they can. I have read a few negative reviews on here and from what I can see it's merely a case of people unwilling to accept responsibility due to a lack of knowledge regarding water parameters, tank cycling and just fish keeping in general. This is typical of any aquatic/pet shop and I would advise anyone reading this to ignore the negative comments as my experience, along with many, many others, has been nothing short of outstanding! I rang this shop one Saturday desperately searching for the raw cat food I use. I had stupidly run out at the weekend and couldn't get delivery from the Natural Instinct website until the Tuesday. They said they had 3kg left and when I asked could I have all of it, they kindly put it in another freezer at the back until I could get there to collect it. Extremely efficient and very nice, friendly staff. An excellent place for a whole range of animals and pet supplies.

Go here for my bearded dragons stuff, most reliable shop for bugs I've found yet, also occasionally buy fish stuff from here too, good customer service, very friendly and helpful with information on the animals. Bugs are delivered Tuesday and Friday at the moment, bugs are always lively and active whilst I've bought from other shops such as Pets at Home where the bugs look mostly dead. Good place.

The reason that I go back there, again and again is purely down to the service that I have always had, and I have to say that their prices are also very competitive indeed.. In my opinion it is second to none... Steve and Clare and the team go the extra mile to help sort any problems out that you might have... and even today when I had a problem with my aquarium air pump, it was no problem for Steve to kindly sort the problem out in a very professional manner.. The selection of fish, pets, rabbits, and goodness knows what else they stock are well looked after, and their knowledge is invaluable to help you with your enquiries about so, so many things. Just a few words on Urmston Aquatics. This place has changed overnight since the change in ownership, fantastic customer service, very welcoming and a good atmosphere. Chris, Ian and Spud will offer there knowledge and help with any questions or queries you may have. There stock is growing to a vast selection and if there is anything you can't see they will do there upmost to try and get it from there suppliers. Dry and livestock. Overall this place is definitely on the up with exciting plans in place. Take a look at there website and if you get a chance definitely call into the shop to see for yourself. Good stock and fish looked after - I have visited over the years and spent alot of cash here - However, on a recent visit, I found that Customer Service was severely lacking. I purchased a filter (and various other equipment to the value of £60) on the Sunday, returned the following day as the filter was noisy and not running correctly and they would not exchange and came up with all sorts of excuses such as its running in etc I ended up binning the filter and purchasing another filter elsewhere - I won't be visiting again

Absolutely wonderful staff, gave us some great advice after visiting Abyss, saying that they are only in it for the money and do not care about the welfare of the live stock they keep. Do not shop at Abyss in Stockport, we were sold a marine tank by them and told us to buy fish the next day, Urmston Aquatics were appaled by their advice saying that they should not have sold them to us so soon and should have waited 4-6 weeks before adding any live stock, saying that due to Abyss' negligence and lack of animal welfare that our fish will most likely die! Do not shop at Abyss in Stockport!!! Couldn't recommended these guys more, plus the tortoises are super cute!

A great little shop. We've driven past a few times and said we'll stop by. However I wouldn't class it as a reptile shop, but then I can't do snakes I'm more of a lizard and tarantula person. Either way, can't fault them for that. The fish are kept in spectacular condition one of the best I've seen. Though I did hear them provide a slight wrong information when comes to fish. The hamsters could have a wheel or something to do but other than that a great little shop. Could be a bit more friendly though. We will return.

Very good local fish shop. Expensive reptiles and when I rung up to ask about turtles and tortoises they didn’t know which breeds they had. They are very organised yet never check you have a safe and happy home for the animal or that the animal suits you and your time. They have a wide range of fish and aquatic creatures but not many soft creatures. They are keeping rabbits and hamsters in tiny cages with up to three in one box. Also, hamsters are kept in tiny boxes cages with one theatre and no toys or entertainment. Extremely cruel treatment to the mammals there.

Good layout with lots of choice of fish. Also stock a small number of reptiles, rabbits and guinea pigs. Staff are helpful enough but can be hard to find at times. Prices seem reasonable for a physical store but a lot of the tanks and accessories can be found online or at Pets-at-Home cheaper. However I believe Urmston aquatics should price match. We have bought fish from here before that have been fine, but more recently some have died after adding to the existing tank and spread disease to the existing fish which was a quite annoying.

I recently purchased a smalk tank from here and have really been struggling with water parameters since adding fish to the tank, I have had a problem with a testing kit I bought else where and wasn't confident in the results I was getting, I have had my water tested at 3 other places with conflicting results, Urmston Aquatics tested my water foc and clarified a few things in regards to my water parameters and even gave me some crushed coral to help bring my ph levels up without wanting anything In return, one thing I like about this shop is they don't comment on other business unlike other businesses and just give you an honest opinion, they also have in my opinion the best selection of Betta Fish in the area and will hopefully be purchasing one from them soon, they have a great selection of tropical and marine fish that all look great and healthy.

I'm sorry for this but the owner can talk the talk BUT not walk the walk .from what the owner was saying over ther phone his shop gave me high expectations BUT when I got there it was a huge let down the upstairs of the shop had a very bad odour to it (like no proper cleaning had been done for a long time) (on the plus side they have disabled access well you walk down a ramp to the back door insted of using the stairs) when I got in to the aquariums where the fish were .big disappointment there was an oscar with half of its dorsal fin missing it was with other cichlids and below that was the doubi (think I spelt it wrong) its black small with white dots on it .there were only 2 in the tank and one of them is on its way out it kept on floating to the top in the corner (not good) then we walk over (I hobbled) to the cold water fish where the yellow gold fish have deep red holes in them (at least 7of them) then a tubby girl was grabbing the fish out of the net after catching them ( the way she was grabbing them she was squeezing them . Then she was just throwing them in another tank (litterleypooring them in another tank with no regaurd to the fish ) then we go into the marine room and a young lad was slicing the bags open with a blade again no regaurd to the fish . So sorry I will not be ever going there again
