I recommend Blackwell's if you're looking to invest in quality paper and art tools. There's nothing quite like browsing art supplies in person and being able to feel the quality of the paper, check the comfort grip on pens etc. They have a wide range of stock including some more bespoke equipment. They are always very helpful when I need advice. It can be pricey but I expect that when buying good quality.

An absolutely lovely bookshop, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the collection of novels is diverse and splendid! If toute e looking for modern political commentary, fantasy or approaches to ancient myth, it's got it all. If you're more into art than reading, fear not! Blackwell's has you covered with a nifty art department for your creative needs!

I go to Blackwells for my Adult Colouring pens as I can be sure they have some.Also because I'm not very mobile and it is near my bus stop.And.......there is coffee nearby! It's also wonderful to see all those clean and shiny new books!

This place is top tier. I really can’t wait till they reopen after the ol’ lock down is lifted and we can swarm the streets again. Their paper is as cheap... no forget that... cheaper than chips without cutting back on any quality or gsm.

Not many educational books on offer here which is what I went in to look at, although I dare say what you wanted would be easily ordered. My son was happy with the well stocked political books section! Lovely book shop though with a Costa coffee attached.

Friendly staff, great selection of textbooks. I will be honest in saying that I was surprised they sell used copies! They are lower in price and often suffice.

Very friendly staff and a good selection of textbooks as well as fiction and non fiction. They also do second hand and buy your old books; very handy for those textbooks you don't use anymore.

I was in there for art materials, but had a quick browse of the books too. I hadn't seen Blank books made from antique covers. Thought that was a great concept for sketchers and note takers...and imagined a line of innocent old books containing hidden secrets!!

Really good bookshop with a very wide range of subjects, but they are limited. However, if you are looking for something specific and they don't have it the staff are more than happy to order it in. Generally get what I need from here, but it is a bit pricey - especially for stationary. They don't just have academic books by the way as they have a good selection of fiction and non-fiction.

They sell a variety of nicknacks on top university academic level textbooks and source material. They still supply lots of interesting books for those who do not seek academic reading and they even have an area focused on comics and games such as D&D and cards against humanity.

This bookshop services Newcastle University so you won't find celebrity recipe books or Top Gear annuals. Big on the classics and politics, usually rather quiet, which suits me fine. And there is a good art materials section which crams a lot into a small area. A fair distance from the main part of the city so why not visit the Hancock museum while in the vicinity? I recommend both.
